Crown Court
Sarah Lewis question John Gilroy, who explains that Robin's behaviour had changed massively in recent times, he lays the blame firmly at the door of Juliet Tomlin, who he says seduced his son. Robin gives his version of events, and Doctor Eva Penny is brought in to assess Robin's state of mind.
Good continuation, definitely an interesting story, well acted, and thought provoking, a subject now that's definitely taboo, they'd never get away with it now.
I love that John stopped Robin's pocket money, that would have done the trick.... I'm not sure marbles and spangles were on his mind. At least he does look like a schoolboy, not always the
Christopher Gray (Robin) was good, a well measured outburst, and his screen dad Garfield Morgan (John) also pretty good, something of a monster.

The Honourable Mr Justice Yearsley hears the case of Juliet Tomlin, a teacher who is accused of having an improper relationship with one of her pupils, a 15 year old pupil, referred to in Court as Robin, Juliet Tomlin denies all charges. Robin's father takes to the stand to give evidence.
It proved somewhat difficult to get hold of a copy of this episode, but I eventually did, and was glad to, judging by the content, I can see why it was perhaps considered troublesome.
It's a good first episode, lots of gossip and hearsay, it'll be interesting to hear what Juliet has to say, I look forward to see what Jane Lapotaire brings.
It's all change, Basil Henson is as The Judge, having recently appeared as a Psychologist, and we get to see the wonderful Maureen Lipman, who is excellent.

Mervin investigates the death of Susie Montagu, the owner of a beauty brand, a woman with allergies, something there killer took full advantage of.
Every season has a below par episode, and for me, this is it, I didn't particularly care for this one. Some nice ideas, but just didn't really work, Selwyn was grumpy throughout, the mystery was a bit thin, and just too much silliness.
I'm enjoying the plot of Mervin's mother's death, if only they'd focused on that.
It's a little too comedic for me this one, why have they had to have Mervin behaving like a buffoon, up until this point he'd been a serious Brit abroad, and there are just no words for Sebastian, why have they made him such a clown, he's just irritating, he makes Ruby look like Inspector Morse.
Best scene had to be Catherine giving Selwyn both barrells, he well and truly deserved it, the ending was decent, the problem was the chunk in the middle.
