The Guilty (2021)
A peak film of simplistic filming style
This movie was so great I cant exaggerate it enough. It's firstly one of it's kind being filmed only in 11 days and being better than so many high budget projects out there. Jake Gyllenhaal's performance in this movie is worth applauding truly putting him in a position of notable actors of the decade from his continuous series of such amazing performances. The thrill they have managed to pack inside just a 1 hour 30 minutes long film is remarkable. It's thrilling, mysterious, heart racing and makes you sticl to the screen due to intensity of things that just grab all your attention to what is happening. It makes you pull your hair through the suspense and the climax is seriously displayed so well it catches you off guard and makes you only more involved in the film. Film in one location it is very well produced. Everything bout this movie is nothing less than great and i recommend everyone to watch it especially if you liked titles like "the searching" and "missing (2023)". It suits perfectly for a genre of thriller, crime, detective, and drama. Overall enjoyed it a lot and it was an experience totally worth my time.
Blackhat (2015)
A really good Movie of its genre
Blackhat follows a hard to completely understand and follow plot. This movie mainly very enjoyable for cybersecurity enthusiasts and "Hacking" Movie stans.
Blackhat gets some of technicalities wrong but i think they are forgivable here for the sake of plot. The very smooth elements of romance introduced here in a non romantic manner but a worrisome manner is something i very well liked in the movies as it only made sense for the lead character's past. The realistic portrayal of gunfights I personally found to be balancing the unrealistic hacking elements. The camerawork and Vintage feel aesthetics totally drew me in and kept me invested into the movie so much so that i can re-watch it again right after having just finished it. The acting is top notch as well as the dialogue in my opinion but it is to be said that this movie is mainly for a certain demographic which is why alot of people are not giving it god reviews. Overall it contains a criminal/Cop life story, mildly real action and gun scenes, Hacking and Social engineering, smart people doing cool things, justice system and patriarchy, Spies and anonymity plot, emotions expressed in eyes more and less words, Great camera work and Artistically and aesthetically very appealing cyberpunk-ish scenes. If you enjoyed works like 'Snowden' and 'Mr. Robot' This movie is definitely for you. Enjoy!
Orphan (2009)
A great thriller
Orphan is a thriller that does the job that most horror movies fail to do. As the movie forwards you start to wonder what exactly is the antagonist going to do next. It's packed with a lot of Mystery and plot twists really catch you off guard. The movie does start to feel a bit neutral by the middle and feels like a bit vanilla of the horror category as it doesn't have typical jump scares and concepts but still leaves you wanting to know what exactly is the deal here.
The movie is made pretty well, generally saying its a solid 8/10. For me personally it felt like a very slow in house and conserved story with very limited characters. Overall as a horror thriller to get going on a nigh out, it's a good recommendation. (In my personal view it felt like 6/10, but speaking for the movie as content, it's a good 8/10 for entertainment)
Hyouka (2012)
Beautiful, Lovely, and Sadly Nostalgic
Hyouka is a story of a boy Houtarou Oreki who is always quiet apathetic, stoic, and cynical towards the joys of life. He doesn't feel like his life has joy and excitement, but moreover he doesn't want to chase them either because he believes it doesn't matter. Soon as he meets a girl in his classic literature club named Eru Chitanda his growth starts to occur and their high-school innocents confusing kind of love story begins. The show is very aesthetically pleasing and has vibes of summer. For any school kid this show is totally relatable and a work of art. It's slow, peaceful, lovely, and just beautiful to watch again and again. The show redefined literature for me and gave me perspective on how being stoic isn't about abandoning all pleasures, but about accepting life and happiness even iff you don't have material pleasures like most people. Slowly in the story how Oreki grows to realize that it's okay to love someone, that if nothing really matters, than why not live a life that feels fun rather than not live it at all. This is a truly magnificent and dare i say again, an extremely beautiful anime in every way.
Trash Taste Podcast (2020)
The best chill podcast ever
This podcast is the funniest podcast out there without a doubt. The boys - Connor, joey and Garnt share their daily life stories and happening s and discuss literally anything and it's the most entertaining thing on the internet right now (imo) in my opinion. Their conversations are relatable and they talk so normally and friendly that things you can't relate to also start feeling relatable if that makes sense. This podcast is the best one in its genre. It's the most chill hang out with your mates kind of podcast and you can play it while doing anything and you will have fun. Their discussion of the Japanese culture is what makes them the best Japanese youtubers right now. The repetitive occurrence of their close friends who are also funny youtubers and relatable has created this kind of a lore which is more entertaining than you would ever think it would be. The guest presence is always a cherry on the top and not only that but the people who work on organizing the podcast also have started to feel like cast members. They talk about anything and everything from toilets, travelling, everyday life, popular events, anime, movies, games, food, friends, marriage, relationships, Japanese culture, British Culture, and just alot about many countries in general.
For students especially this is the best chill thing to listen to while doing homework or something.
Mugen no jûnin (2017)
Samurai Culture, Katanas, and Pure Badassery
Blade of the Immortal delivers a cinematic experience of dark samurai action, Tons of swords, a Mystical lore, Outcast life, Revenge, and Immortality. The beginning of the film established a plot for the main character very well. The Acting is done really well especially revolving the drama of vengeance. The production is impressive as it doesn't miss any opportunity to immerse me into the primitive times that the movie is based upon. There is darkness in this movie, the grungy fight scenes, and especially the action sequence feels so well done considering the frequency of it. The movie is well made for viewers looking for dark, no mercy action with lots of blood and lots of drama. However the movie does lack pretty much any comedy touch. For me though, it was not an issue. The plot is easy to understand and follow, the pacing is done right, and overall it's a great watch to satisfy your assassins, samurais and katana cravings.
The Dark Knight (2008)
A Superhero Movie That Doesn't Shy Away From The Struggles Of Righteousness
The dark knight is fearlessly directed with the idea of displaying psycopathic craze. The Darkness, Modern and rich aestheitcs, the cunningness of characters and the display of fury and conviction is truly inspiring. The Pacing is near perfection for how much it has had to portray in the timespan of two hours. This movie gave a near perfect cinematic portrayal to the decades long comic book cat and mouse chase of The Batman and Joker. The dialogues are well delivered and the cinematography is on point. The psycological and Philosophical points of the story is undescribably inspiring. A true modern classic and a masterpiece.
