A waste of viewing time

Warning: Spoilers
This programme was boring, in as much that it had constant repeats of information. A spoiler, is that they did not come up with an answer, to he daughter's wish, to find out, definitely, what happened to her mother. This programme would have been interesting, if it had been condensed, into, perhaps an hour or 90 minutes, however, I had no knowledge of this case, before viewing

What an excellent show

This show is one of the best that has ever come out of the UK.. In fact from anywhere. BBC to thank, and take a bow. It is marvellously cast, with great production and direction and some of the birth scenes are second to none, and skilfully done. The stories are a mix of historically correct facts, (birth of the national health service, and the way that life existed, in that age), sadness, happiness, humorous anecdotes, dated colour predeceases, difficult living conditions, during and after the war, personal lives, and true to life experiences. The series are cast with wonderful actors, who all support each others work. The stories are exceptionally, well written and adapted from a book by a British Midwife My wife and I ( both British, of course) started to watch the first one, on PBS, thinking that it would be, a show for women, but were pleasantly surprised, and have been glued to the TV screen, ever since. We also obtained the DVD of each series, from the local library. Each new episode, we expect will not be as good, we think, but are pleasantly surprised, that the standard does not slip, like other popular shows that eventually run out of ideas Many Americans, have approached us to say how Britain produces, great shows like this, while America fails so to do.
