The tagline for this entry in the "Halloween" franchise is "Evil dies tonight" but considering how another sequel is coming out soon, I don't see how that is possible. The one thing that made this series very popular is the ongoing fight between "Michael Myers" and it's star Jamie Lee Curtis. So when she decided to star in the series again, people where thrilled. Starting off where the last movie ended; Laurie Strode, Karen, and Allyson leave Michael trapped and alone in the burning rumbles of Laurie's old house. However when he is able to escape, he decides to finish what he started years ago. Unaware of what is waiting for him back in town, the Strode family has help in the surviving members from the first film. Question is...Has Michael Myers reign of terror finally come to an end? This film had a lot of hope going for it; the return of original cast members, more of the famous score of music, and maybe the ultimate fight between good (Laurie Strode) and evil (Michael Myers). Unfortunately the movie plays out like a 'Feature Length' Cliffhanger. All the fighting we hope to see, never happens. In fact, Jamie Lee Curtis spends most of the movie in the hospital. So everything we know about this film going in plays out like a would of, should of, could of scenario. The biggest and most ultimate question is...In the next film, will we get to see the Big fight? And if so, Who will Win???? The Countdown has Begun!!!!

A story about the pitfalls of trust and purity are analyzed in this fantasy/horror film. When Shay is reunited with her father after many years, she hopes that it will be the chance to get to know him. He invites his daughters (Shay and Jo) to a religious Purity Retreat in hopes that it will bring them close together. Once they arrive there, Shay starts to feel out of sorts. As her half-sister Jo starts to introduce her to some friends, she starts to feel like she belongs. One night they sneak away so they can perform a secret ritual to bring "Lilith" ( a supernatural entity) back to life. Once the ritual is performed they start to experience some strange phenomenon they can't explain. The only question they must figure out is what is more dangerous; the demon that has been unleashed or the stress they feel from their controlling fathers? As part of Hulu's "Into the Dark" anthology series, Writer and Director Hannah Macpherson brings to life a tale of trust gone wrong. Even though the story will keep you connected, it takes to long to prove it's point. As a genre film, it does not identify with any specific one; not horror, not fantasy, not drama. While the film is slow and unusual for the most part, it's not completely bad. The story, the performances and the direction of the film will have you mesmerized. It will just feel like a very long trip down the road to your destination.

"She's in the Army Now" is an early 80's TV movie with an all star cast that looks like a blend between "Reform School Girls" and "Private Benjamin". Released a year after the Goldie Hawn classic, this TV film tries to capture the success of women in the military. With early performances by a young Jamie Lee Curtis and Melanie Griffith, it shows seven weeks of basic training in the army of a group of very different women. While it does have a cross of comedic and dramatic undertones, it falls very short of it being a drama or a comedy. Most of the subject matter it portrays (i.e. Suicide to bullying) has a very adult mannerisms in how they approach it for a TV movie. Most people who are fans of the cast and/or fans of military movies will be drawn to this film. However, things are not all what they appear to be. Proceed with caution!!!!

To laugh or cry, that is the question? Most films that deal with heavy subject material with a comedic overtone, are very hard to contemplate. Writer Diablo Cody's directorial debut sets forth answering some very deep philosophical questions in a very whimsical manner. Set in a very conservative and Christian community, young Lamb Mannerheim is recovering from a plane crash that left her fiancé dead and her body badly burned. Trying to cope with her feelings with what had happened, she denounces God in front of her entire church and decides to leave town in search of earthly pleasures in the most wildest places she can think of...Las Vegas. Once there, she befriends 2 residents who take her under their wings to show her what life has to offer. And in the course of one night, friendships are made and many lives are changed. The film walks a very thin line between comedy and drama. Overall the plot of the movie is very interesting but it keeps you some what twisted in what it is trying to accomplish. The cast does a great job trying to flush out the essence of their characters but it does make it hard trying to connect with them. As a film in whole, the comedic and dramatic timing of the movie will draw you in. But once you reach "Paradise", you will be lost in the meaning of it all. Proceed with caution!!!
