iCarly (2021–2023)

iGrew Up!
17 June 2021
Carly, Freddy, and Spencer return to the small screen bringing with them laughs, gags, and nostalgia.

Let me start by saying I grew up watching the original series and was excited for the reboot. But mere minutes into the new pilot, I experienced cringe worthy dialogue and even acting that felt off and forced. I waited it out though, hoping things would change.

They did.

ICarly is still a corny, goofball of a show that exists to entertain but comes along with a dose of nostalgia as well. It's fun and idiotic, the characters melt back into their caricatures quite well after some time. New additions Harper and Millicent also mix in well, though personally I feel Harper does as Carly's BFF more so than Millicent does as Freddy's stepdaughter. I have no doubt though that things will develop and smooth out more with time.

It's enjoyable, and I hope it is given time to grow!

A Work of Art, in and of itself. Flesh and Bone is a masterpiece.
21 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Flesh and Bone is a mind-bending series, not in the way that Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan was though. What Black Swan had as a psychological thriller, Flesh and Bone has as real life drama, that seems too horrible at times to be real. A wonderfully executed series, Flesh and Bone will entice you before you even know that you've been enticed... then all 8-episodes will be finished. And you'll be left wanting more.

The cast of Flesh and Bone is an ensemble that seems to pull away from each other, but then pull together, a dynamic that is hard to describe but is perfect for the content of the show.

Newcomer Sarah Hay delivers a performance of pure raw emotion time and time again. Other company members portrayed by Emily Tyra, Irina Dvorovenko, and Raychel Diane Wiener all bring unique characters to life. Aside from the dancers, a standout character is Romeo, portrayed by Damon Herriman... a mentally ill homeless man. Watch for his performance, you will be blown away.

Overall Flesh and Bone is a winner, a television series that ran for too short a time. Watch, and enjoy.

Black Swan (2010)

Lose Yourself
5 June 2016
Black Swan is an experience in and of itself. I went to see this film with my mother, fully aware that the film had what some people would refer to as "explicit" scenes, or NSFW (I only just learned what this acronym means).

And Black Swan flew beyond my expectations.

I can recall being in that movie theater, and truly connecting to Natalie Portman's character Nina. It was almost as if we (the viewer) had become this character. We felt and experienced her fear and paranoia; sanity was questionable as you would lose yourself watching this masterpiece of a film.

Without giving the plot away, let me just say the film was beautifully done. Darren Aronofsky really came through with the storytelling. Everything about it was immersive, and as the story progresses you can't help but become a part of the Black Swan experience.

Trust me, there will be many second viewings.

Girl Meets World: Girl Meets Flaws (2014)
Season 1, Episode 13

Girl Meets World is Perfect, this episode is proof
9 November 2014
I have yet to get over the message that this episode entails. A beautiful, true, no-nonsense message that was delivered perfectly on screen. I don't want to give too much away, but please; if you have children suggest they watch this show. Today, children learn a lot of things from entertainment and Girl Meets World has some life lessons that will hopefully reach the ears of the new generation. This episode in particular holds a important message that is extremely relevant in today's time. You may want to sit down and watch this with your children, the have a discussion about what the episode was about afterwards. It won't be a waste of time.

The World
22 July 2014
"Girl Meets World" has been watched by hawk-like lovers of it's predecessor "Boy Meets World" and the moment the pilot appeared half of these watchers declared how much they disliked the show and the other half praised the new Disney Channel show.

These opinions will now no longer be written in this review.

Disney Channel has repeated it's goal several times: to make television that it's watchers can relate to. Disney has achieved this through entertaining shows that their viewers have, and will enjoy. Themes and lessons about life are packed into all of their shows, older watchers seem to forget this concept.

"Girl Meets World" has definitely delivered. It explores some aspects of life that could be tricky to put on TV, especially for a children's television show. The fact that these emotionally deep and touching messages about the world are being conveyed on screen in a way that children can watch, comprehend and relate to is what makes "Girl Meets World" so fantastic. It is quite literally a girl finally facing the world and trying to come over it's many obstacles.

Say what you will, "Girl Meets World" is an phenomenal television show.

Liv and Maddie (2013–2017)

Disney Channel comes through!
19 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
What I think some people may forget, is that Disney Channel was not made for the viewing pleasure of adults; sure sometimes there's a show tat may appeal to the young and old audience... but when it comes down to it, Disney Channel is for the kids.

Liv and Maddie is quite a delight! Dove Cameron does an amazing job portraying both twins (and for those who complain that a real set of twins could have been used, take note that there are two actresses as Maddie 2 and Liv 2 who are getting paid for their roles!) and the rest of the cast is just as wonderful: Joey Bragg and Tenzing Norgay Trainor who portray the two brother troublemakers are quite a hoot, and the mom and dad (Bejamin Kind and Kali Rocha) who just happen to be the high school's basketball coach and psychologist make quite a nice pair as well.

All in all, the show is pretty well done, and your kids will love it. Heck, I'll admit it, I love it!

Good Luck Charlie (2010–2014)

A Surprsingly Delightful Show!
30 December 2011
Disney Channel left interests when their "good" shows such as EVEN STEVENS, and LIZZIE MCGUIRE left the air. AFter that Disney just seemed to be adding more, and more unappealing and just plain not good TV shows. Then in 2007, Disney brought forward a cartoon that gave them hope. Even today PHINEAS AND FERB is a big hit, and the winner of 2 Emmy's. This was Disney's first step to getting back on track... viewers were confirmed of this with the arrival of GOOD LUCK CHARLIE in 2010.

Entertaining for all ages, good acting, and just down-right funny! GOOD LUCK CHARLIE is a very good show that will hopefully continue for years to come.

Orphan (2009)

Surprisingly, a good film
1 July 2011
You know, I wouldn't necessarily categorize this film as a "horror". Why? Because unlike nearly all other "horror" flicks, this one takes you deep into the story and it's characters.

The story has depth, and there is such a good back-bone to it. Everything about it is extremely well done. It isn't just some stupid new slasher, or lots of blood and gore "because we can" type of attitude. No, "Orphan" should be an example for all horror movies to follow, because frankly if they aren't this good (as "Orphan") the point of making and/or watching them is just downright stupid and pointless.

Only sad thing is, if your not a fan of horror, you might turn away. But honesty, this is such a good film. Scary, yes. But amazingly well done.

It's different, but thats why it is what it is!
27 December 2010
People have been complaining that the show is just about showing off the actors, and that it's different from the LAS VEGAS version of the show. But what people don't realize is that the show is supposed to be different! That's what makes it CSI: Miami!

It's quite the enjoyable thrill ride, and Miami is unlike any other show you've ever seen. The character are all unique and different, and if you just ignore the negative publicity, and actually decide to enjoy yourself. There's no doubt about it. You'll be happy!

It's just a lot of fun to watch, and fans enjoy it thoroughly! Give the show a shot y'all! I just don't know how to convince y'all otherwise!

Just Another TV Crime Drama? - - Not Even.
25 November 2010
Not like a procedural cop show - - not just another show that may be taking up your TV schedule. No. The plot line is intriguing and the basis of the show is just plain entertaining. This show is worth it's time slot. And I do hope it continues for a few years.

At first I was hesitant, thinking the show was going to come and go. But then I was able to catch a few glimpses of some different episodes, and now I found myself searching for these episodes. And that's something I don't do often.

The show really does deserve a chance, and I do hope it gains more viewers, and people don't just shove it aside thinking its "just another cop show". Because really it isn't.

Action-Packed, Non-Stop thrill Show!
6 September 2010
This show has made me want more and more after each episode! I can't wait patiently for another new episode to come out! The series is action packed and the story line is so intriguing your just wanting to beg for more! I would have to put this show at one of my Favorite Top 10. I always have a good time watching it, and never do I find myself bored with the plot. And to see another strong female lead role on television is always a tremendous amount of entertainment.

It's so much fun to watch! I really hope the show continues for a while. The fact that the show is just so interesting holds you in place, so that you don't want to stop watching! Seriously, this show is good!

Give the show a chance! I personally cannot get enough! While I'm waiting for a new episode I watch the old ones over and over again, I cannot get enough!!!

The Last Song (2010)

Truly Moving, and Heart-Touching!
27 August 2010
The problem with the film is people had biased opinions about it before it was even released. The moment people found out Miley Cyrus was going to star as Ronnie Miller, people immediately disliked the film.

To my surprise however, I was truly touched by the film. It's a story about family, finding love, and going through hardships. And personally, I left the theater in tears. In fact, I went to see the film THREE TIMES while it was still in theaters. A lot can be learned from the movie. It's definitely something that a family could watch together.

The character's were so complex, and each actor/actress displayed the plot of each individual character SO well. Truly a good film, no matter what people say!

The Musical that will Change Lives
7 August 2010
This is the musical that created MY main interest in musical theatre. It was the movie, and just during the first few moments, I was intrigued. The music, the story, its grasping.

You WILL need to see this film. I look back now, and I see how lucky I was, to discover this. Without it, I wouldn't be where I am today.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is the one who brought the book to Broadway, but now to see it converted into an amazing cinema masterpiece, is just magical.

The director did such great work with Andrew Llyod Webber. The desicions made when making this film were perfect in evry way shape and form.

Zombieland (2009)

Pure genius, nothing else to it!
5 December 2009
Sit back, relax and welcome to the United States of Zombieland! Here about 90% of the earths population contains zombies, 5% contains half eaten corpses, and the last 5%? Those few lucky enough to be alive, when you mix these people all up... you get one hilarious film! The characters are unique all in there own special way, and the writing of the film is just incredible! Its a blast of fun for all, but be warned: It can make you queasy at times.

When I went to go see this for the first time, I was completely blown away. I had never laughed so hard and jumped out of my seat at the same time! And even though at times I got a little queasy and thought that I should close my eyes I couldn't, because the film was that good! I would totally recommend this film, to anyone! (but please, common sense people, its rated R, don't let your small children watch it)

The other good thing is, the critics loved it! And I think we all know how rare it is for critics to like a movie like this! So go treat yourself to, well, a treat! Either go see it while you still can, or definitely get it when it becomes available!

Never Cry Werewolf (2008 TV Movie)

Ever seen Disney's Haunted Mansion? This is a darker version of that.
12 September 2009
Warning: Spoilers
WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!! Its true. A werewolf thinks his neighbor is a reborn version of his past lover - - did I mention this neighbor is a teenager? Ew. SciFi needs to stop making its own films . . . they're just getting embarrassing. The blood looks cartoonish. (however, it does look graphic at times,) and the film just never really got exciting. And I don't understand, why they had to add a Indiana Jones 'like' character. That was just uneccessary. Especially when you found out his secret. *cough* *cough*

May I suggest if your looking for a film to scare you, make you feel like your being watched its not this one. Go see Orphan, or Drag me to Hell. Those are worth the money to go see in theaters, however, this movie, isn't worth the money you pay for cable.
