Little Britain (2003–2006)

Great first series, but terrible second and third....
7 September 2009
I saw this series when it first premiered in 2003, and I really liked it! It had characters like Des Kaye and Ray McCooney, who were actually quite funny. I liked the show a lot, and couldn't wait for it to return.

Then series 2 arrived. I was shocked by the drop in quality. No more clever, versatile characters like Ray McCooney. Repetitive, disgusting (and not in a funny way) characters like Bubbles De Vere and that puking woman (can't remember her name!) were the focus now. Even classic characters like Lou and Andy had become shadows of themselves.

I saw series 3, in hopes it would improve, but to my dismay it got even worse! I left the series with a bitter taste in my mouth, and went off to re-watch a true classic (Brass Eye).

I saw the rating of 8.0, and was amazed at how high it was. One great series, followed by two god-awful ones, does not deserve something higher than a 4.

My advice, buy series 1 if you're curious. Save your money on the rest (including Little Britain USA).

Awful, super-cheap show...
21 August 2009
I had the displeasure of having to watch this train wreck of a series when I was on my holidays. I still haven't recovered.

If you've seen any of those "David the Gnome" series, or "Alex and Alexis", you know what you're getting. This is an animated Spanish kids TV show about anthropomorphic fruit and vegetables, who live on an island at the foot of a volcano (I'm not making this up!), who get into all the usual "Saturday morning TV stuff" (lots of slapstick comedy and bad puns) I saw the English dub of this, and I couldn't keep watching. The dubbing is AWFUL (worse than 4Kids dubs of anime!). There is ridiculously poor dialog, and, worst of all, IT DOESN'T MATCH UP TO THE MOUTHS AT ALL!!!!!! But by far the worst part of the show is the animation. Believe me, it is TERRIBLE! If you've seen the old Hanna-Barbera or Filmation cartoons, where everything is blocky and character movements are looped over and over again, you'll still be shocked by "The Fruitties". There is no detail in ANYTHING, foreground or background, and it looks like diarrhea splashed over your TV screen. It's obvious the show was thrown together for about £5 to fill a time slot.

I thought this show was made in the 70s or 80s, because it looks so cheap, but no, it was made in THE 90S!!!! When animation was put up to a standard.

Please avoid this show, if you want to remain sane.
