I have never really been frightened by a movie before. Some movies make me jump when I watch them, but that's more a thrill or a shock than a scare. In fact, all the movies that are thought of as very classic scary movies such as Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist, The Shining, none of these movies ever scared me at all. But this movie truly freaked me out. I really didn't want to go to my house by myself after watching this. I ended up staying at my aunt's house and even then I was uncomfortable sleeping in the livingroom by myself. It is embarrassing but I was so scared and I loved every minute of it. There are very few things that give you such a thrill in life. I plan on renting the original Japanese film because I have heard that it is even better!

Shakespeare in Love
(1998)
Entertaining but over-rated fluff

This movie was engaging but I was very disappointed to see it win Best picture of the year. Especially when the other nominees were infinitely more deserving of that honor. Probably this film was just intellectual enough to make middle America feel a little smarter for having watched it, without being too complicated and losing their interest or comprehension. Not a total waste of money if you're interested in renting it but don't expect a great film. It was merely cute.
Lifestories: Families in Crisis
(1992–1996)
In my case this film back-fired

The film in which Calista Flockhart plays a young woman with an eating disorder was well-made I thought. But through no fault of the film or it's creators this film had some negative results. I'm sure the people who made the movie wanted to discourage young girls like myself from ever developing an eating disorder. Unfortunately this film taught me how to have an eating disorder, at least I used it as a place to get tips because it really goes into great detail about this girls methods of fasting and purging. I would write it off as a fluke but I recently learned that Christina Ricci reacted the same way to this film. So, despite the quality and intentions of this movie, if you are a young impressionable girl or boy, or the parent of one this may be a movie you should skip. There are probably other people who found this to be triggering and you don't want to become one of them.
