The Untamed (2019)
10/10
Absolutely incredible and captivating!

This was a gorgeous show. It's a Chinese drama, so please overlook the poor CGI, because the passion that the screenwriters and actors put into making this show is so palpable. The leads, Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo, nailed their roles. The pacing is incredible, and the story is so well-woven in terms of character development (for everyone...not just the leads) that it's astounding they managed to pull this off. It's hilarious, depressing, moving, and exhilarating. The chemistry between the lead actors really drew me in and kept me watching, but there isn't a single uninteresting character in this show. In fact, this is the only long drama I have ever watched where not a single episode felt like filler. I didn't think I'd like it, and I loved it so much that I re-watch it every few months all these years later. Give this a try!

The Long Ballad (2021– )

Only rating 8/10 for first arc! Rest is trash

I loved the first 15 episodes. The pacing and acting was incredible, and A'Dou's character was so good. I hated the cartoon action, but I could look past it for the plot. Everything up until the end of the siege (no spoilers) in episode 15 was so good. The drama should have ended there! After that, it got weird with way too much over-acting from Ashile She'er among others. I'd give this show a 10/10 for the first arc if it didn't have the cartoon scenes. I didn't finish the drama after episode 15 because it became insufferable.

Attack on Titan: Memories of the Future (2022)
Season 4, Episode 20

Absolutely incredible and profound

This is one of the best AOT episodes, right up there with Hero and Midnight Sun. It reveals so much about the story, with some twists that anime viewers will never see coming. As for those who have read the manga before, this episode outdoes all the original content. It's so incredibly sad and the voice acting is powerful. I'm deeply impressed by the direction.

Wow. Just wow.

This show is absolutely amazing. The writing, character development, cinematography, and score are among the best in the MCU. I won't spoil anything, but this show lives up to all the hype. It satisfies without being even the slightest bit over-indulgent, and the performances are incredible!

Best episode this season. The way Sasha's death was handled on screen was moving and shocking and worthy of her character. So sad. Amazing voice acting!

Absolutely incredible and captivating

I randomly came across this show on Netflix. I was completely moved and pulled in from the very first scene, which sets both a tone of urgency and of curiosity. The acting is wonderful across the board, with Yang Se-jong (Hwi), Woo Do-hwan (Seon-ho), and Jang Hyuk (Bang-won) in three of the most compelling and well-acted roles I have ever seen on TV. The score is outstanding as well, and only builds on the beautiful cinematography, costumes, scenery, and set design. The action choreography is riveting- I haven't seen such well-planned fight sequences in years. The quality of the show is completely jaw-dropping, and the visuals only add to the tragic and captivating story. The characters are meaningful and motivated, and the story is so complex and human that it's difficult to choose sides- leaving the viewer engaged and constantly thinking. I would highly recommend this show to anyone who wants to be moved. I'll be rewatching it for years to come!

Truly excellent.

What initially started out as a fun, exciting show slowly grew into something with true emotional value. The voice cast is incredible, the animation is gorgeous, and the soundtrack is impeccable. Many people are down voting this show, especially the last season, because it didn't end the way they wanted it to. I think the story is absolutely great. I especially love the last three seasons. Give Voltron a chance. I promise you'll feel something.

The White Slave (2016– )

Speechless.

I know telenovelas have a bad reputation for some weird reason, but as I was watching this, I realized that I didn't even feel like I was watching a series most of the time. It felt so rich and well- crafted...movie-like, and epic. In a way, like a modern version of a Roots-like tale. Very well done. The acting was perfect, I was completely immersed. Yes, of course, it's a Colombian telenovela, so the characters are over-the-top at times, but it's not even noticeable. La Esclava Blanca is AMAZING. The characters are fleshed-out, the story is realistic, and it's gritty. There are crazy moments, but they are few and far between. During episode 4 (I think), there was a certain scene at the end of the episode that made me think DAMN, this man needs an Oscar or some sort of recognition. Completely spoiler-free: this show is something else entirely. If you haven't watched it yet, you're missing out. I'm a film production major, and the production was MARVELOUS. Watch now.

Great movie! I don't see what all the fuss is about!

Warning: Spoilers
Now, let me get one thing straight. This is NOT a smart film. It's not intended to be. It has its moments of comedy, a romance, and a lot of great action scenes. Might I also add that the score is AMAZING? The part where Nyah injects herself and says "You're not going to kill this bitch," to Sean is literally on-the-edge-of-your-seat good. The music during this scene is so beautiful, I literally watched this part over like 25 times! Like I said before, this film is not intended to be a smart, twisty thriller like the first one was. It is simply an action movie that is intended to get your heart pumping, and the twists that the first movie had are replaced with beautiful music and great action. Enjoy it for that.

Cast-wise, I thought Thandie Newton was fantastic. Her face conveys so many emotions and her voice is so addictive. Tom is great as usual and Dougray Scott is a perfect villain. Smart, witty, and dangerous, but not too menacing.

Overall, I think this was the best of the entire series. MI1 was too confusing and not really that exciting, MI3 was kind of random (Phillip Seymour Hoffman is NOT a good villain, I just can't take him seriously!), and MI Ghost Protocol was great too, I just like this one better.
