Undiscovered (2005)
An Unprejudiced Review.
2 January 2006
this is a review for anyone who doesn't care that ashlee simpson is in the movie or what it made at the box office and just want a movie to rent because they are bored.

with that being said i found this movie entertaining. there was no point that i felt like i wanted to turn it off or watch another movie. i paid four bucks to rent it, do i regret it? no. i rented the movie despite the negative reviews because most of the people commenting on it had not seen it.

the performance of the lead actress is effective but nothing special. i think its a crime they had shannyn sossamon cast for the movie and used her as the worst character in the entire movie. she could have been much better in the lead role. ashlee simpson was fine in the movie. she wasn't great but she was just really in a sidekick role, nothing demanding.

the plot was good enough to keep my interest, the music was really good so i'm probably going to investigate the soundtrack and the direction was music video-esquire, i guess you can decide for yourself if that is a plus or a minus.

so overall if you like movies that can be classified as 'cute' but aren't corny, if your someone who watches the OC on occasion or if you are just looking for a movie with feeling but isn't too heavy then i say go for undiscovered.

This movie sucks
5 March 2005
This movie sucks so much. This movie is horrible in every way you can imagine. Do not rent it, don't even read the back of the box your wasting your time. Plot - Makes no sense. There's random stuff like 3 leaf clover hickies and popcorn being used to kinda kill someone. Acting - the WORST I have ever seen in my 21 years on this earth. Its hard to pick the worst actor in the movie. I'm gonna go with the Mom. She really sucks more than everyone else, an accomplishment in itself. Directing - adds to the crapfest. If you want to laugh your ass off and make fun of a movie then i guess you can watch it but this is by far one of the worst movies ever created.

Great Kung Fu Flick
23 April 2004
This is a really entertaining Kung Fu movie. It has 7 masters each of a different style and it is about their trip to fight a single master of many different Kung Fu styles. There are a lot of jokes in the movie and it never takes it's self too serious which was a good way to do the film. Although the plot may not have too many unexpected twists (or be very unique from other "dream team" type Kung Fu Movies) it is entertaining through out. There are so many amazing fight scenes that are done very well that it is good for the Kung Fu movie fan that may have a little ADD. With all that being said I enjoyed the movie but for a non-kung fu fan they will find it horrible. I give it a 7/10 and I bought it on DVD.

Daredevil (2003)
Movie gets a bad rap
27 February 2004
First off you must realize that when I was younger I was a comic book fanboy so I am probably more apt to like the movie than others. I came into the movie thinking I wouldnt like it because of Ben Affleck being Matt Murdock. I dont think he is a good actor but the daredevil role is not the most demanding role in the world. When I started watching I thought I would do some work on my laptop and while watching the movie. After about 5 minutes I started getting into the movie and so I turned my laptop off and concentrated on the movie. 10 minutes in I had made popcorn and shut off the lights off. I was back into full fanboy mode now and really was digging the movie. Ben Affleck was effective in the role and didnt ruin the movie for me which was nice. The story was great because it didnt just focus on daredevil kicking peoples azz's but instead it was about Matt Murdock coming to grips with being the Daredevil and living in present society. Jennifer Garner is mega hot so netime she was on the screen that could take the pressure off Ben Affleck because all he had to do was stand there and talk. Colin Ferrel is always tight and his preformance was good and the same goes for Michael Clark Duncon. Directing was well done and wasnt too dark like batman or light like spiderman. To cap it all off with Jon Favero adding some comedy and a cameo by Kevin Smith I was very happy I watched this movie. 8/10

The Recruit (2003)
8/10
Best New Movie I Have Seen In A While
5 December 2003
Alright writing this review without giving out parts of the plot will be hard so forgive me if it seems too vague. I can't possible give anything away because the way this movie unrolls will keep you on the edge of your seat and the less you know the more entertaining it will be. I can't pinpoint one thing that drew me to this movie the most, I think it was a compounding of a great story, great acting and exciting direction. The story is really cool and just when you think you have it figured out something happens and the whole story chances. Some would say confusing, but those people don't like to think. People arnt used to having to think and process events because of the poorly written movie. The Recruit is great because you need to figure out what is happing and that is half the fun. The acting is also very effective in this movie. I am a big Pacino fan and he comes off great in this movie as usual. Colin Farrell suprized me and gave a simple but not understated preformance. The dialog suits both characters well and remains fresh and sometimes humorous(the movie has little jokes to keep it from taking it's self too seriously. The directing keeps the movie exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat. The camera angles sometimes made me think that something was going to happen and that was a cool effect. I was kept on edge for the movie and that is what I was looking for when I sat down to watch it. Only downside is questionable practices in the training and the USB thing (after you see it you will understand). This is a very good movie DONT SLEEP ON IT! I give it a 8.5/10

Great DVD
9 November 2003
This DVD is really good. DMX puts so much emotion into his music it is great to see the man himself perform the tracks. There are videos and a GREAT movie ANGEL. I love the movie on this DVD I have watched it numerous times and it is worth the price of the DVD alone. This is a great compilation of work and give you a little insight into the man, the dogg, DMX

Trilogy of Terror (1975 TV Movie)
3 Movies Odds Are One Will Be Good...
31 October 2003
Nope 3 movies and 3 stinkers. It is clearly a TV movie as it is 3 episodes of "Twilight Zone" like material (Minus the good storylines). The best of the 3 stories is the toy warrier one. It was pretty funny and if I was younger I could imagine something like that getting to me. It reminded me of a primal chucky. If I were Karen I wouldn't be using my oven for a while. Oh yeah that brings me to Karen Black. She is a hottie so it is good that she is in all three. This movie is in a similar vein of the walter kroncrite movie "Merlins Workshop" or something to that nature. You should rent this if you like MST3k type movies or you are old and grew up in the 70s.

Overall I give it a 5.5/10 -T_Man

Good not Great
26 October 2003
The Good: 1. The acting is amazing. I actually like Kevin Bacon as an actor in this movie and thats saying a lot. I liked Larry Fishburne's preformance but I think Sean Penn steals the movie with the most beilevable of the preformances. 2. Eastwood does a good job of directing the movie. Most scenes don't have bright colors until the end. I liked this it gave the movie a grittier feel than having it filmed with bright colors. 3. The plot was pretty good, it keeps you watching the entire movie, sometimes it drags on but I didn't think it was too predictable.

The Bad: 1. The audience never really feels for Tim Robbins character I don't think. After him escaping in the beginning I felt for him but Robbins preformance through me off, I don't know what he was going for with it. 2. At the end I felt sort of like I watched a 2 hour law and order episode. There are the same type elements, a crime, then the 2 detectives putting it all together by interviewing people. This dragged on after a while and I think the end would have been better if the movie was 20 minutes shorter.

1st Half ok 2nd Half cool
26 October 2003
Let me start by saying overall I enjoyed The Long Kiss Goodnight. I would give it a 7/10. The Good: 1. Acting: Samuel L Jackson is entertaining in almost any role. In this movie he doesn't play his usual character, the type that is in control, instead Geena Davis is in control and Sam is along for the ride. His timing on his lines are great and he is the high point of the movie. Geena Davis also gives a great preformance as Samantha Caine/Charlie Baltimore. She is a believable action hero and I don't think too many other actresses could pull off the preformance Geena Does. 2. The Action: This is a very action packed movie. Things are pretty much always crashing or blowing up or someone is chasing someone else. The special effects are pretty good especially for being almost 8 years old. I can see some green screen stuff but it doesn't detract too much from the acting.

The Bad: 1. Why did it take half of the movie to set up the plot? This film needed to be edited in the script stage so that it didn't run as long as it did. Maybe a drama or something can run this long but people really need to be into the movie the entire time to sustain it. I think that if you can stick out the first half you will be pleseantly suprized the second half. 2. Geena Davis is cold weather and a tank top but she never seems cold. 3. Some things are unrealistic. Sam Jackson flies through a giant sign after he is blasted out of a room and then he lands in a tree and just gets up. When you see this part you will think it's a gag. overall fun movie 7/10
