Very well done satire. Not everyone's cup of tea but a great black comedy treat for people like us who enjoy 'Wednesday Addams' humour - you actually care for every single character (even the bad ones). I could see people I personally know in my life as these caricatures.

I might buy this after renting it out for 24 hours as worth a rewatch. This original flick is way better than the mass-produced predictable point A to B trope plot we see these days - manages to makes fun of every political view and good economics lesson on how licensing rules stifle competition and hurt underprivileged folks (although that might be unintentional)!

Personally I found this bit better than Zoolander.

Don't understand all the low ratings...this is so much funnier than Facejacker and this is coming from someone who doesn't always agree with Kayvan's political message he is trying to parody in the show.

The prosthetics look ridiculous so taking 1 point of that but otherwise if you don't expect much you will be blown away.

Don't Kill It (2016)

Sequel Please! Thanks for keeping it less than 90minutes & half-unexpected ending.

I am not into demon movies, more of a zombie person...but this one totally won me over mainly cause of Dolph Lundgren.

It starts slower than I expected but picks up until it crescendos at the end.

I love action heroes who speak their minds most films avoid it as the thoughts of the protagonists don't always resonate with the audience.

Only complaint I have is they should have tried amputating the demon and paralysing it to slow it down but then we won't have a movie.

The short length of the film helps you suspend disbelief for long enough to enjoy the gore.

Will definitely buy the next one too.

Not as bad, I have seen MUCH worse in this genre!

I absolutely hate paranormal movies unless it is Comedy Horror.,,only watched for Kate Beckinsale.

The little boy is adorable in this movie and there was surprisingly not bad acting (wasn't Oscar worthy either)... So to me if you have time to kill then it is totally watchable..good thing is that it is neither predictable nor "predictably-unpredictable" where the Director is trying to be smart at the end eg: like in Don't Breathe which was overrated as everyone knew how it was gonna end and who was gonna die.

The let down is that this film is NOT scary, not even that few jump scares we have. It never gets going.

I hope Kate Beckinsale gets better scripts particularly Horror-Sci Fi instead of paranormal flick.. she is still pretty to look at even for sexist Hollywood.

The Neighbor (II) (2016)

Massively underrated..less dialogue is more! Refreshing to see a Southern villain without the Confederate flag...

More of a quick thought summary after just watching it a few minutes ago than a professional astro turf review (apologise for bad English as it is not my 1st language):

This movie proves why IMDb ratings are a joke for any genre outside of Drama and non-slapstick Comedy movies. Amazed the budget was so low for this project.

My expectations were lowered thinking it to be an average gore flick. The movie draws you in and you care for the characters.. hardly any overacting, females are shown to be neither completely weak damsels nor Mary Sue Goddesses .. they got the balance right and reactions were very realistic. Pretty cool concept well executed and not butchered by the ending as happens so often. Although very subtle we find out towards the end that there are more layers to what meets the eye. Hope they make a sequel as they left room for it.

My only complain is that they could've upped the violence a BIT (not too much like Eli Roth) as it is more of a thriller. The duration is perfect - no point watching a 100-120 minute movie, too much downside with that route.

Finally - even though I am not a Yank or even political - thank you for not taking any ethnic swipes towards Southerners in general as happens so often in Hollywood.

Big Thank you to Director, actors and everyone who was involved with the project. Perfect Friday night movie given the budget :)
