A Great Short Provocative Movie
23 September 2011
I really liked this movie. The director/filmmaker has a very innovative and exciting approach. You can see that he is very influenced by Terrence Malick and this movie has deep and insightful moments as well as some scary and tense ones. Snell-Callanen keeps an attitude of suspense that builds throughout the film. A very creative, cutting-edge and innovative work. The movie reminds me a lot of elements from Malick's Tree of Life. This film also has an interesting use of imagery and music combined together. With the characters and imagery he provides, Snell- Callanen has created a unique and unusual juxtaposition of many elements and moods. You are never sure of what is going to happen or what might be happening next. There is the foreboding sense of a great thriller, because the action seems understated but is full of meaning and emotions. A mark of a good director. I see a great future ahead for the young Matt Snell- Callanen, the director of this wonderful short film.
