I am Spaniard so I wanted to love this one as much as possible. The cast is well know in Spain and most of them are a reputed cast. So, that's not the problem here. I mean the script is weak, cheesy and full of cliches.

First, all the characters are stereotyped as the usual characters. But here everything is overacted. Some scenes are embarrassing. Soap opera level.

Second, the story is entertaining but I was able to guess around 95% of the 2 first seasons. So, if you have watched similar series, this one is not as exciting as it wants to be.

Last, even all the downgrade I have been entertained most of the time. If you stop your brain, it's easy to watch and enjoy. Not what I expected but still watchable.

Road House (2024)

Do not take it seriously
6 April 2024
I am a big fan of the original Road House. So, consequently I was scared about watching this remake. But to be honest it is different, and sometimes different is not bad. I prefer remakes that tries hard to get the idea but with a different touch. Is Road House better than the original? No it's not. It's different.

First, Jake does a good job. Not as good as Patrick because it has not the same charisma. But it's acceptable. The big surprise here is Connor McGregor. I don't like him, but to be honest is the one who steals the show. I think he can become the new Vinnie Jones for Guy Ritchie's movies.

Anyway, if you love the original, you can watch this one too. It's funny, violent and entertaining. Not as good but different, in a good way.

Not what I expected
5 April 2024
I am a big fan of crime documentaries so consequently I know great ones. The premise is good here, but the execution and the story is poor compared with other more interesting, dramatic and creepy ones.

First, a serial killer in Germany is a nun in Mexico for example. I mean, if you're looking for something "shocking" look in another place. This story is just one more. Nothing new here.

Second, everything looks overacted to create a big shocking story that is just Ok. Maybe it's me, but is there any hidden agenda?...

So, overall if you haven't watched any good crime documentary maybe this one is for you.

Creepy
29 March 2024
I can't believe this was real. I mean, it looked like something coming from a bad tv cops movie. A bad script that turns to be real, even the effort and ineptitude from police. I'm in shock.

First, I really enjoyed the documentary series. I liked how was directed and how creepy it looked like from beginning till the end.

Second, something is wrong with justice. I mean, why some stories are taken seriously and others not. Law and justice are apparently the same to everyone. Or not.

Last, I think overall the story, development and cruelty makes this one of the best crime documentaries I have watched this year.

So, if you're in a mood if a creepy real story, this one is for you.

Hidden gem
26 March 2024
I have watched this one now in 2024 and what a great surprise. It is an authentic hidden gem. One of my favorites from all time is Friday the 13th from the 80's, so that's how I discovered here in IMDb this one. Probably one of the best.

First, it is pretty original, goofy, unpredictable and gory.

Second, it is what a great slasher was in the 80's but with a great script.

Last, I have really enjoyed everything here from begining till the end.

So, overall if you love 80's slashers or just the 80's and you're up to an original slasher, this hidden gem is going to fulfill all your nostalgia. Enjoy.

Christine (1983)

25 March 2024
I can't believe Christine movie has more than 40 years. It's a cult classic for some generations. The ones that were born in the 80's and early 90's, and loved slashers or horror movies. The movie is extremely good if you compare with nowadays productions. It aged well like good wine or cheese.

First, Christine's Fx's are superb. It doesn't look cheap as other of my favorites from the 80's. If you watch original Terminator, from same age, and bigger budget looked cheaper than this one.

Second, the BSO is great. Amazing Rock and Roll mixed with an acceptable cast and story.

So, overall if you love 80's horror, this one is a must.

Cult horror classic watched in 2024
16 March 2024
You can't do more with less. A simple story with several cliches here and there but that 80's vibes that makes the simple the better.

First, Fx's here are superb. I have watched this on 2024 and it is better than 90% of actual horror movies. I mean, nowadays everything is made by CGI and ruined at the same time. Here everything feels so real. Fx's included even it was made 40 years ago.

Second, cast is great. Great acting from main characters. Maybe I'm too nostalgic but I have enjoyed too much everything here.

Last, the dog is great here. It does not look fake. Real. Scary. Amazing.

So, overall a horror cult classic that to me was a great discovering.

The queen of cliches
15 March 2024
I am Spaniard so I was really excited about this one. I really loved to write a good review about something well made in my country like "Antidisturbios" for example. So, consequently I started to watch this based on a successful best seller. But I was wrong thinking this will be great. I am not sure why the hype of scoring this production as a 10.

First, the story is full of cliches, predictable and certainly boring. You can predict almost 95% of the story without reading the book.

Second, the acting seems forced and full of cliches again. Sometimes it looks like a soap opera mixed with Matrix and Saw. Terrible. Even the lead woman does a great job, sometimes is annoying because of her dialogues.

Last, the stereotypes here again are forced and nothing to do with reality from my country. People from Vasc Country speak Euskera not like here.

Anyway, I do not recommend this series if you have watched similar ones. Boring, predictable and not clever. Even the stereotypes are wrong.

Halloween (2007)

Watched (again) in 2024
10 March 2024
I am a great fan of Halloween movies. The original one is one of my favorites. So, consequently I was disappointed about the last two Halloween movies. The last one from last year is the worst by far in a long time.

Anyway, I remembered about the two Halloween movies that Rob Zombie made around 15 years ago. All I have to say is the first Halloween is great. I really loved it. Probably as much as the original.

First, acting is great, music is sublime and gory fox's are amazing. It doesn't look cheap, and it's even better than I remembered.

Second, the DC is even better than the original cut.

So, if you miss to watch a good Halloween movie, this one is your option. Enjoy!

True Detective (2014– )

Season 4
2 March 2024
I really love true detective. Season 1 is one of the greatest shows of all time. Season 2&3 were acceptable even not for everyone. Then season 4, an authentic disaster. I don't know where to start but I'll try.

First, the cast (Almost all women) does a really bad job. It is a mixture of bad acting and cheap soap opera feeling. But, to be clear, I have a huge respect to Jodie Foster (Clarice) , but here her acting skills are embarrassing. She is as cold as the supposed plastic ice (embarrassing too).

Second, the story is bland, full of cliches and overall unbelievable. A wasted opportunity.

So, if you love True Detective, do not watch this. If you love Jodie Foster, watch The Silence of the Lambs. And if you want a great show watch Fargo the first 3 seasons instead.

If you love Narcos Mexico
27 January 2024
If you love Narcos and Narcos Mexico or series like El Patron del Mal, this one is for you. This is the best I've watched in a long time. And believe me, I've watched several good ones like Gomorrah, Zero, zero, zero, or Suburra. So, consequently I know how to differentiate between a cheap soap opera or a good one, like Griselda.

First, the filmmaking here is great. It doesn't look cheap like other Netflix's productions. Great costumes, settings, cars and ambiance. Music is great too.

Second, the storyline is great. Amazing narrative. Cruel and vast story about how an ordinary woman became one of the most notorious criminals.

Last, it could have been better with two more episodes explaining extensively the ending. I finished the story without knowing the ending of some other characters.

Anyway, nothing is perfect, but if you love fiction related to Narco's world, this one is for you.

Great 90's vibes slasher
8 January 2024
If you love slashers you'll probably know who is Eli Roth. I love slashers, so I am always up to watch his new movie. I mean his the father of Hostel saga, so why not?...

First, the movie is not original but it is quite enjoyable. I think it's inspired obviously in movies like Scream or I know what you did last summer, but with a new touch and some interesting additions.

Second, the gore is great as usual Eli Roth movies. Maybe a bit exaggerated but if you really love 80's - 90's slashers you're going to love this one.

Third, acting is pretty acceptable. Cast do an acceptable job. Interesting not to watch, for once, the usual forced Z generation cast, that includes hundreds of stereotypes and genders. I support inclusive movies, but some of the new slashers are extremely weird.

So, overall, if you love slasher movies I recommend this one. Not an Oscar winning , obviously, but enough entertainment for a popcorn - slasher night.

Not what I expected
9 December 2023
I was looking for a drama-sad movie and after reading a bit about this one, I decided to watch it, keeping in mind the hype and ready to watch a drama masterpiece like The pianist or The Schindler's list, for example. But I have found this movie to be extremely long and slow and not touching as I expected.

First, even the characters are lovely, I didn't feel anything for them. So strange because the drama is there, but something is missing. Maybe the movie it is too long or not for me. Wanted something sad, and finish the movie without a tear on my eye.

Anyway, overall the movie is watchable but not as good as other masterpieces.

Swedish meatballs, Ikea and slashers
1 December 2023
I love slashers coming from other countries and not only from US or UK. So, consequently I am always up to watch a "new" one. This one coming from Sweden.

The Conference does not add anything new to the genre, instead it copies everything from other movies or series like Friday the 13th, Dexter or Severance. The mixture it does not really work here because of several reasons:

First, the characters and acting cast are extremely bland, d*mb and uninspiring. I was expecting to everyone die fast, lol.

Second, no script or story. Period. Just a bunch of events without any sense.

Last, I really enjoyed the scenarios and some gory scenes. But that's all folks.

Anyway, if you have watched similar slashers, avoid this one. It's a waste of time. Same old story trying to be ¿Fun?... If you want real fun, better go to IKEA, eat some Swedish meatballs and choose another good slasher with an interesting story. Like Nightmare on Elm Street, for example. Enjoy.

A movie or a long boring commercial?
22 November 2023
I am a big fan of David F movies. Two of my favorites of all time are Seven and Fight Club. So, I always expect something at least decent enough to keep him on my top list of favorite directors. But...

First, I can't believe David Fincher is only capable to do this. I mean, he directed SEVEN. One of the best movies of all time. So, what happened here?... The movie is annoying. It looks like a long commercial of several brands like Amazon, Hertz, McDonald's...

Second, the script is bland, predictable and a total nonsense. What's the point? A bunch of killings because, what?.... and the end... Omg.

Last, but not least, the annoying voice. Boring. Extremely lame mental kind of monologues. A wasted talented actor.

Anyway, I recommend to watch Sicario 1 and Sicario 2 instead of this boring thing. Even watering the garden can be more entertaining.

The Children of the Choripán's
17 November 2023
I am a big fan of horror movies and I love Argentinan productions like El Marginal or Entre hombres. So, I was excited to watch this movie. To add, this movie won the prestigious Festival de Terror de Sitges in Spain, my own country. But what a disappoinment after watching it.

First, even the movie is not politically correct, there is nothing new here to add to the genre. Maybe some great and gruesome scenes. But that's all.

Second, the script is predictable and copied from other similar movies. Not a real storyline. Just a bunch of people telling weird things about a supposed ritual or tradition. Weird.

Last, I think the end is pretty weak. It looks like the producers were inspired by "El Pueblo de los Malditos" a pretty similar movie. So, consequently another downgrade.

So, overall a total nonsense and not a great movie, maybe just an Argentinian version of the The Children of the Corn: The Children of the Choripan.

Starts strong but sinks by the end
15 November 2023
The quality of this series is great. There is no doubt or question if it comes from BBC. On the other hand the series feels too long, repetitive and some of the episodes can be repetitive or even boring. So, overall the series has its ups and downs.

First, the good. The scenarios, camera work and acting from the starring trio is great. Amazing characterization of all of them. Not so good the dutch couple. Sometimes even annoying.

Second, music, and cinematography is great. Looks pretty real and visually almost perfect.

Third, the storyline starts pretty strong but on the last two episodes everything goes too rush.

So, overall the series is entertaining but probably it should have been better with only 4-5 episodes.

Amazing!
6 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This second part is even better than the first part. Fan film? No way. This movie is far better than 80% of nowadays slashers. Keeping in mind the budget, it's a piece of art for fans like me that love Jason and Friday the 13th.

First, the Fx's are quite good. It doesn't look cheap or bad. They really used some old tricks to show some blood here and there and almost no use of CGI what is great keeping in mind nowadays horror movies look terrible because the excessive use of computer even for blood.

Second, I really loved the acting. I mean it's an slasher , so don't expect an Oscar winning interpretation and you'll be fine. Great cast in general, but even better Jason.

So, overall a great Friday the 13th tribute. Thank you guys. Keep it up!

Wasted potential
5 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I grew up in the 80's as a teen so Stallone and Schwarzenegger were my favorite action heroes. Just a special thanks to Bruce Willis and Die Hard movie. So consequently, I love all of them, but...

First and foremost, Sly has more acting talent than Schwarzenegger. They were great both, but after watching this short documentary, I can say that overall, Sly acting career is better than Arnold. But to be honest, Arnold probably has more charisma. That's how he become the Governator of California.

Second, this documentary feels rushed and incomplete. A big wasted opportunity. Some topics are barely spoken and it is a shame. Overall it looks like a bit superficial even they *spoiler alert* talk about his lost son. It feels incomplete, not like the Arnold's documentary series. A shame.

Anyway, overall the documentary is good but feels incomplete. A wasted opportunity, and clearly lost potential because of Netflix. I loved what I watched but feels short to explain the career of Sly. Anyway, I recommend to people who were born around the 80's and 90's. Probably, Tik Tok generation doesn't know anything about this man. So definitely, not for them.

Oh no! Here we go again...
1 November 2023
Again, another gas station movie. Again, another shooter movie. Again, at night. Again, nobody comes to the rescue. Again, same lame conversations. Again, the movie starts interesting but in 10 minutes everything starts to fell apart. Again, you know what is going to happen because you have watched this movie several other times. Again, this movie isn't realistic because people here act like robots. Again, the movie ends as many others. Honestly, I don't understand why independent movies are not risky anymore. This one is an example.

So, consequently you can skip this movie again, and follow with your life. Again. Happy Halloween.

Ok, but where is the blood?
31 October 2023
First and foremost, the movie could have been far better easily. It is not an extremely bad movie, but definitely it's not a horror one. I mean, if there is no blood, there is no crime right? So, here nobody dies, Lol.

Second, the script is bland and the PG-13 does not help. Obviously with a -R or +18 advice, it could have been a masterpiece. Instead the movie is more oriented to scare Tik Tok generations.

Last, the cast is just Ok. I didn't know anyone before the film and after it I'm going to forget all of them. A shame.

So, overall a missed opportunity to create something great, fantastic and scary. Definitely , I can't recommend to horror fans, because if there's no blood, there's no crime. Happy Halloween.

Quite entertaining
30 October 2023
I have enjoyed the series, even it's is as predictable as engaging. The series is a mixture of different characters with the usual story aka serial killer script coming from famous movies. Looks like the director was inspired by movies like American Psycho, characters like Dr Loomies from Halloween or David Mills (Brad Pitt) from Seven. Everything is done in a Spaniard pretty acceptable way.

First, the series is not original but is quite entertaining from beginning till the end. So, overall the story is quite good. To add, looks like it is coming from a novel.

Second, if you have watched similar movies/series , the experience could have been far better with a more risky script. But to be honest, there is a twist I didn't see coming. Good for the writers.

Last, the scenarios, camera work, and acting are good. Also the Fx's too. The series looks serious, and not cheap as other Amazon productions.

So, overall an entertaining even predictable series if you have watched similar ones, but If you don't, the experience can be great. Enjoy.

Didn't expect this
21 October 2023
I lived the growing of the figure of David Beckham as a teen. I was only 4 years younger than him. And honestly, on the early days I thought it was only a marketing product. But men, I was wrong.

First, the documentary is pretty well done. It shows the mostly lights possible but also the dark. The darkness David Beckham lived as an iconic ultra mediatic person. What a nightmare.

Second, I like the way Beckham is shown here. Human. Not only the golden balls boy. He mostly accepted all the criticism with a pair of golden balls. That was raw.

Last, I recommend the documentary if you want to know who was the most iconic and mediatic person in football before CR7 - Messi era. Sir David Beckham.

Saw X (2023)

Tobin Bell and back to basics
20 October 2023
First, what makes the difference between a good Saw movie and a great one? Tobin Bell. What a great comeback. The man is 81 and what a great interpretation. Great talented actor. I mean, it is the movie where you see the most accurate picture of John Kramer. Definitely, not " The monster" some people thinks he is.

Second, Saw X it is probably the best Saw since the second one and probably the third. I should rewatch all of them again, but I think it could be easily battling for top 3. Great Job done here.

Third, don't forget that a good Saw movie needs a great script. Saw X has everything you need to enjoy if you're a fan of the franchise. The movie is original, yes original, and mix all the ingredients pretty well. Not the usual torture movie.

Last: what made my day watching this too, was Amanda and Costas Mandylor back to business. I mean, back to basics. Excellent.

So, overall an acting class from Tobin Bell, underated actor, and great interpretation from the old cast. It is a new and original addition to Jigsaw universe. Probably the most touching one. Hope not the last one, I want more continuing from here.

Bad, mala, bad, malo
19 October 2023
I don't like to complain or hate slashers. I love mostly. Even the freaky ones. But this one is really "malo" aka bad.

I am Spaniard, so I know the director. In the 90's 00's he made a couple of interesting movies. So, consequently I was curious about this one. What can go wrong with a bunch of kids in Venecia, ready to be slaughtered?... The answer is easy. All.

First, acting is horrendous. Pretty bad choices even for a slasher. I was expecting everyone to die since minute 1, lol.

Second, the script is bad, really bad. Even for a slasher. Predictable, dumb and probably wrote by a 5 years old.

Last, skipt it. There is nothing good here. Better go for a walk or some exercise. Thanks.
