I love movies, especially horror and low budget to boot. Don't Speak is not as bad as the reviews giving 1 star. Don't Speak most definitely is not perfect, but it certainly isn't award winning either, neither Turkey, Razzy, or Oscar. I seen my fair share of bad films, and low budget or independent does not make a film bad.
Don't Speak is survival horror against some creature that hunts vis echolocation and sound. We the audience receive hint about this fact. The people in the story don't until about halfway through. The performances were okay, nothing to write home about, but nothing deserving scathing remarks either. I quite liked the monster design. Then again I did grow up watching Japanese ToHo Godzilla , movies. The pacing and story kept my interest.
