Crimson Peak (2015)
Great visuals
The storyline has good flow but is perhaps a bit predictable, acting is decent though the characters don't have much depth. But the winner for this film are the visuals. The house itself is stunningly haunting and the ghosts are almost ethereal. This movie doesn't have much substance but is a real treat to watch.
Friends with Benefits (2011)
Kind of charming
Kunis and Timberlake actually have good chemistry which gives this "anti" romcom a bit of charm. The storyline is basic and the premise a bit cliché. However, the characters are fun and the acting is decent. Keep expectations low and enjoy a few laughs.
Van Helsing: Save Yourself (2017)
Wait, what?
So Vanessa goes through all the trouble to track Sam down, ensue an epic battle, and then let him go because she's got "more important" things to worry about. Just... what.
The Pianist (2002)
Haunting
A truly haunting film depicting the journey of one man through the Holocaust in German occupied Poland. The cinematography and music paired well to give this the desolate vibe it deserved. Beautiful acting and a well developed storyline.
Van Helsing: A Home (2017)
long awaited connection
Decent episode storyline as a long awaited connection is made between whatever Sams been doing and Vanessa. The skinner thing was weird.
Van Helsing: Love Bites (2017)
That ending though
This episode had one hell of an ending, everything else though was definitely mediocre. The whole side plot with Sam is weird and unnecessary.
Concrete Cowboy (2020)
Heartfelt but lacked depth
A heartfelt movie about the real life phenom of cowboys in Philadelphia, that told an interesting story but lacked character depth. It was missing the connection that emotionally connects you the characters. I loved the vibe though, somber yet hopeful.
Why Did You Kill Me? (2021)
The ultimate catfish
An interesting true crime story, following a young woman's murder and her family's retribution. The story was kind of crazy, and the cat fishing was unexpected. Focus was on the family and gang though and didn't feel like it was about the victim. Good documentary style, relevant interviews and creative reenactments.
Van Helsing: In Redemption (2017)
getting the gang back together
Its a right reunion, of sorts. The storyline was predictable, but still some interesting things happening. Vanessa needs to get herself together, seriously she's been TKO'd too many times.
Van Helsing: Began Again (2017)
Back at it
S2 picks right up from the end of S1 and continues with the strategy of having a lot going on without actually progressing the storyline. It was all a bit underwhelming.
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Heartbreaking
An authentic war movie that doesn't hold back showing the heartbreaking toll combat takes on men. The storyline was well developed and the cinematography was fittingly grim. The characters were well cast and well acted. Hanks at his finest.
Van Helsing: It Begins (2016)
thats the end?
As someone watching after the fact, they played fast and loose with that ending. Not a single question was answered and the big reveal just didn't have the gravitas I expected.
Van Helsing: He's Coming (2016)
Viva la revolution
Another mediocre episode of van helsing. Some storyline progression, but very anticlimactic and expected. Did anyone read this season as a whole? Because it feels disjointed. And let's all just admit that Vanessa is just a damsel in distress disguised as a heroine.
My Fair Lady (1964)
Audrey!
Audrey Hepburn is absolutely stunning in this movie. The storyline is unique, and while their are some random bits (everything with Elizas dad), it mostly works. The songs are fun and catchy. I'd say worth the watch.
Van Helsing: Last Time (2016)
One last neigh
This episode had one "oh come on" moment after the next, but there were a few "wtf" moments that were kind of interesting. Plot/script are hanging on by a thread.
Van Helsing: Stay Away (2016)
What's up doc?
Kind of an odd episode, a lot going on and the storyline was a bit disjointed. Some interesting things happening and not all is as it seems.
America's Funniest Home Videos: Episode #31.18 (2021)
Easter fails
A perfect day for the Easter fails. Funny episode with a good winner.
The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior (2008)
Typical D movie
A typical D movie with a low budget and a weak cast. The storyline was bland, and more hercules than scorpion king. The script was poor and the actors over acted. The action coordination was decent, but far overshadowed by a seriously bad movie.
K-9 (1989)
Funny
A funny buddy cop movie, with a canine twist. The plot itself had no real substance, and felt a bit unfinished at the end. Belushi plays a fun role and has a few good riffs trying to "outsmart" Jerry Lee.
Van Helsing: Help Out (2016)
the audacity!
Well that was just trifling, the audacity to leave a man behind like that - karma is going to get you on that, for sure. Decent episode storyline and some good developments on Vanessa's character.
Wynonna Earp (2016)
Earp yea
Wynonna is a kick ass tv show no doubt, it's got it all and more. The first two seasons are by far the best, three and four get a bit convoluted and have some weak story arcs. However, it's still a great show with some seriously amazing couples and demon slaying action.
Wynonna Earp: Old Souls (2021)
Beautiful ending!
I can't have asked for a better season finale, it was everything I needed, just like happy endings all around and they are well deserved. Love you Wynnona <3.
Van Helsing: Little Thing (2016)
bunker blues
Good storyline, decent action, and final scene that makes you go "woah". My only complaint lies in the fact that Vanessa is wearing a tank top and all of the men have on coats... so, is it cold or not? I realize its all for the sex appeal, but still.
Accepted (2006)
did you have to make the button clickable?!
One of my guilty pleasure movies, its funny, light hearted, and doesn't try too hard. Keep expectations low and enjoy a class at south harmon institute of technology.
Van Helsing: For Me (2016)
Adios old friend
Well that was a blaze of glory. Thankfully the aptly named once vampire Flesh clued us viewers into the vampire turf war going on and there was some usual survivor group drama - though they've conveniently forgotten that one of them is a murderer? Decent storyline and acting.
