We try to avoid reboots (like almost every superhero movie) and new versions of classic stories (Robin Hood, The Three Musketeers, etc.). English language remakes of foreign films are also not included.
This list also includes a little jazz, some country, and a other variations on the theme. As usual, certain titles are more obscure than others.
Each movie shares its title with a hit song. The movie doesn't always have the song in the soundtrack and sometimes the movie has nothing in common with the song at all. We've included a few musicals, but avoided most of them. The song must have existed BEFORE the movie was made OR be included in the movie itself.

Moon Knight (2022)
Worth the Wait
I've been waiting for Moon Knight with much more anticipation than almost any other Marvel project ... or Disney+ for that matter. It appears to be worth the wait. Oscar Isaacs has impressed; he is clearly invested and his performance thus far may be better than anything he's ever done.
Lovely Molly (2011)
Better Than Blair Witch
I'll start by putting all my cards on the table right now. I didn't care for the movie that made Eduardo Sanchez famous, The Blair Witch Project. The gimmick that film started eventually led us to such drivel as Paranormal Activity, but I don't blame Sanchez. In fact, this is one of the few films I've seen that effectively uses the "found footage" device in a way that almost makes sense. I also don't care for films that have ambiguous endings only because that is what we've come to expect out of these kinds of films. Okay, that's all out of the way. Despite these specific reservations, I actually kind of liked this movie. The director and the performers pull out all the stops here; they hold nothing back. That often makes the film very uncomfortable to watch. There is substantial sexual content here (including nudity) but it is all relevant to the plot. Even with the supernatural element, this movie is very much a psychological thriller. A case could be made that all the nastiness that transpires is just Molly's own descent into madness, but that seems unlikely. Bottom line, while a few additional scenes would have gone a long way toward filling in the gaps and making this a much more satisfying movie, I can still recommend it for most fans of the psychological horror genre. And it is far more watchable than Blair Witch.
The Wraith (1986)
Nothing Not to Like
Is there anything about this movie that sets it above any other 80s flick, or racing movie, or revenge thriller? No. Not a thing. It has all the expected features for any 80s movie ever made, from the cast to the soundtrack. But it is no worse (nor better) than any of the others from that era. There is a lot to like here, but for those with limited tolerance for cheese or goofy plot lines, there will be plenty to hate. Be prepared to suspend your disbelief and open your might to the 80s nostalgia and movie conventions. Most of all, sit back, shut-up, and enjoy.
Note: This is my standard disclaimer when offering reviews for movies of this sort (cult classics, 80s & 90s standards, etc.): Plenty of others have already recounted the plot, cast, effects, and so forth ... so I don't waste your time or mine rehashing all of that. I prefer to offer a brief, succinct opinion comparing films to others in their genre or class.
