This Heist movie stole nothing but my time.
16 November 2021
Meant as a sequel to the original Inside Man, this one did quite hit its mark. This is a Heist movie that just didn't make a good getaway! All the acting was just ok, no one stood out, the plot was a bit reaching... I mean come on stealing from the Federal Reserve??? Nazi Gold????

I sat through the whole movie, just to see how it ended and as I expected even the twist was badly executed not to mention they showed you the twist before it happens. I gave this a 3 star rating because to be fair it ended a little more interesting than it started, however this movie is definitely not popcorn worthy, save that popcorn for a different movie.

Think twice before you deposit yourself in your seat and make a withdrawal of and hour and 45 minutes of your time. You have been warned.

Red Notice is Gold
15 November 2021
Major stars joining up for a great direct to streaming movie for Netflix. Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Godot do a fantastic job entertaining you in this Cops and Robbers movie, the dialog is fast and funny the chemistry is awesome and the ending is outstanding.

This is a fast passed Heist movie that I would love to see a sequel to. I do not wish to give anything away, but it has, Shoot-outs, Car chases and Gal Gadot, she may not be Wonder Woman in this movie, but she is a wonder woman! How can you go wrong with Reynolds smart and fast whit and the reactionary comedic talent of The Rock (Dwayne Johnson).

The Action and fun will keep you in your seat, so get your popcorn ready before you hit play because you will not want to hit that pause button.

This G.I. Joe Origins movie is K.I.A. (Killed in Action)
12 November 2021
A Kick from the hip and a Kick to the curb This movie does not have a "Go Joe Moment " and that is a shame, I expected more out of this Origin story of one of the favorite characters in the GI Joe world. The dialog was too low, the action scenes were way too loud, the fights and sword play were choppy and the story was not up to snuff.

The action scenes were a bit rough to watch, did anyone tell the director of a steady cam? The camera footage is all over the place and was not steady at all! I thought they had the right actors for their parts, but the story was too rushed and without the story the whole movie falls apart.

This was not worth the $14.00 plus $10 more for Popcorn and soda, if this is what they are going to push out for movies than Streaming will wipeout the cinemas within 2 years. The G. I. Joe Series is D. O. A. (Dead on Arrival) with this one.

Typical Jason Statham movie - good but predictable
12 November 2021
If you are a Jason Statham fan you will still be after this movie, it is your typical Statham formula and it works and you will not be disappointed. Jason plays a retired DEA agent who relocates with his young daughter, they try to live quiet lives, but soon they get into some trouble with a local drug dealer and his family.

Plenty of action and a decent story, well worth a bowl of popcorn and an Hour and 40 minutes. Wynonna Ryder gives a pretty good acting job in this as well, she is almost unrecognizable in the role of the Ex-Gang Groupie.

This every bit a typical Jason Statham film, fun and fast paced, slightly predictable and yet worthy of the finest microwave popcorn you can pop.

Birth of the Dragon was more like Birth of the Ego
12 November 2021
Birth of the Dragon is the story of Bruce Lee in 1964, when he fought Shaolin Master Wong Jack Man. I have read stories about this so call historic fight and the versions are many so I doubt much of this is factually accurate either.

Bruce Lee is portrayed as arrogant, egotistical and unforgiving, not what you expect, the dialog is rough at times, the fight scenes are fair. I enjoyed it for the most part, but for most I would say watch the IP Man series of movies, they are way better. Like I said I was mildly entertained and it was not the worst hour and a half I have spent in my comfy movie recliner.

Birth of the Dragon is more like Birth of the Ego. I expected better.

Perfect movie to NAP through
12 November 2021
Ryan Phillippe plays Delta Force Team Leader and Father to one of the main characters played by Jack Griffo, Casper Van Dien plays the head of a Hit Squad aiming to kidnap a Supreme Court Judge's daughter, the plot was poorly executed and Phillippe and Van Dien, seem to need to go back to acting school because they were not believable at all and their acting was that of someone doing a bad rendition of a obscure play in community theater.

Let look at the tale of the tape shall we . . . Poor Acting, Bad dialog, a script that could have been written by a Teenager, Special effects that were sub-par and a editing that was as choppy as watching a Stop-motion Claymation short.

Do not bother with Popcorn or it will be the only thing that "POPS" with this movie. This is the perfect movie to NAP through!

A modern day Western done right!
12 November 2021
This Black Western is a great addition to the Modern Western movie, Iris Elba, Regina King show us how entertaining and versatile their acting is, they are fantastic and believable. The Harder they fall has a 1960's Spaghetti-Western feel to it with a very modern soundtrack that works great with the movie.

If you are a Western movie fan give this one a chance, if you can get by the one flaw in this movie which is the dialog in the first 12 to 15 minutes of the film you will be rewarded with some great acting, fantastic gun fights and a story that will keep you in your seat till the end.

To me this was like an updated "Tombstone" without the "OK Corral" Once you start the movie you won't want to leave until the last bullet is fired. This seems to be an underrated and unappreciated movie and that is a shame, it needs more hype, viewers will not be disappointed, get some popcorn and grab a seat it will be worth a watch.

Popcorn worthy, but just.
12 November 2021
Ok let's see, this is a Prequel to Army of the Dead, it fills you in on how the Safe cracker Sebastian (Matthias Schweighöfer) gets his start before meeting up with the Army of the Dead team.

I thought the movie was fun, quirky and entertaining enough to watch it a second time. This "Direct to Streaming" movie was not as bad as others would have you believe, is it cheesy? ... yes do you need to know any of his story line? No, but however slow the story line, it was interesting enough and the character was just interesting enough to keep me sitting there watching on a Rainy Saturday afternoon.

It will never be a Cult classic or any kind of "oh Hey let's hang out and watch Army of Thieves" situation. As a Heist film is was par. As entertainment goes it is sluggish in spots, but like I say Sebastian is just entertaining enough to keep you there to see it through. Watch through the credits for the final scene.

A reason to eat popcorn in your favorite chair.

This movie can compete with Nyquil as a sleeping aid.
12 November 2021
SAS: Rise of the Black Swan (Formally known as S. S. S. Red Notice) reminds me of the old 1980's and 90's direct to video movies, Low budget, bad acting and a script written by 2 high school students while they were eating lunch in the cafeteria on sloppy-jo day.

I sat through this just to see it to the end, but truth be told it is predictable and I could have and should have turned it off. The main character Ruby Rose, whose acting is so robotic is almost enough to compete with Nyquil as a sleeping aid is the chink in this movies armor. She resembles a young Justin Bieber and is just not likable or believable at all.

Would I watch this again? ... Heck No, should you watch it? ... My opinion would be NO I say pass on this Direct to Streaming movie, it's not that entertaining and there is so much better movies out there. I bet this will go down in history as Ruby Rose's worst movie ever.

I enjoyed the popcorn and that was it.

Worthy of the hype!!!
4 June 2021
The Mare of Easttown is a creeper... It starts a bit slow, but the great acting compels you to sit through another episode and then another, you get hooked real fast. The Acting keeps you coming back the accents of the characters are a bonus.

As with all my reviews I do not give spoils only recommendations, if you are looking for a Murder-Police - Small town Drama this one will fill your needs and then some. Try not to read or listen to spoilers, it will wreck a bit of the entertaining value of what they are doing.

Popcorn worthy!

I hate F'n Grapes
20 May 2021
What do you get when you combine a Strip club owner and a Manicurist? Well you get one of the funniest of the worst 1980's slasher flicks. It is the best of the worst and worth a watch, it is low, low budget, it has bad continuity and choppy editing, the acting is horrible the scrip is pitiful, but for some reason the movie made me laugh, shake my head in disbelief and question my love for grapes!

The 2 main characters love murder and each other so what else could they do? Kill strippers obviously.

A horrible movie and one of my favorite Low, Low, Low, Low Budget films of the 1980's, Did I mention is was a Low Budget Slasher? I do not rematch this that often and I have not seen it for a decade or two, it still makes me laugh, sometimes nothing makes you feel better than watching a Slasher film. Don't expect great things from this, it's all fun, bad fun, but fun just the same.

Popcorn for everyone!

Not Gary Cooper's Best, but still entertaining.
14 May 2021
I am not sure why this particular Gary Cooper movie is rated so high, it was not one of my favorites, the acting was merely par and the story line was worn out.

The movie moves along very slow for me and I found myself wandering around and not paying attention to the movie it was so slow.

It feels like Gary Cooper did not want to be in the movie with his delivery and Jack Lord just didn't fit the part he played. The actors in general just felt past their prime.

This was not a bad movie, just not a 7 star rating movie. If you like Gary Cooper you will watch it just like me because of his past movies. If you have not seen him in any other Western don't make this one your first it will taint your view of a great actor and a talent.

This offering was just OK.

Looking Forward to see what they do next
13 May 2021
So as you see I gave this a 6, not a 7 Stars like most of the reviews. Watching this was like watching the Dysfunctional X-Men, but don't let that statement throw you from watching this series. I just think it took too long for me to get into the show.

It starts off slow and choppy, but it eventually gets hitting its mark and fills in the gaps. I just thought they could have done it quicker.

Morality and Order is a major player in this series it is dark, gritty and cheesy at times, but shows you a side of Super Hero's families that rarely gets focused on as major theme. Even Super Heroes have flaws.

The potential for this is fantastic. Definitely Binge worthy.

Time Chasers (1994)

Do not walk away from this movie...RUNAWAY from this movie
10 May 2021
The only Time Chasing going on here is me trying to chase down the time I wasted watching this hot mess. It was as enjoyable as stubbing your toes on a rock at the beach.

There is High budget movies, there Low budget movies and then there is Low-Low-Low-Bargain basement budget movies, This is that one, in fact I bet they stole the paperboys money to make this movie. The sets where horribly chosen, the actors not well seasoned, the directors and writers must have been upset with their end results.

It was a nice try at the very least some horror movie host, such as MST 3000 or Son of Svengoolie will have some great material to work with here.

Rocketman failed to launch

Let me make this easy and swift like removing a band-aid. I like Elton John, I like his music, I like musicals, but this just seamed like a "Oh you should feel bad for me" movie.

The movie was entertaining enough to hold me and see it through to the end, but it was choppy, jumping back and forth and was poorly edited. I would probably not sit and watch this movie ever again sadly. I feel most people will be of the mind of, I loved it or I hated it, I myself are somewhere in the "I don't care" end of the spectrum, it did not impress me at all.

Stick with his Music you will not be disappointed. Good news for me, I did get a bit of popcorn and a coke so it was not a total loss.

Not Great, better book than a movie.
10 May 2021
This movie got me entertained, it was interesting enough for me to sit and see how it all works out. But I will never sit and watch this movie a second time. It was a one shot deal. I gave this a 4 star rating because I think Michael P. Jordon has great talent.

The acting was good, action was fair, but some of the stuff was just too farfetched to be believed and it gave me the "Jump the Shark" vibe and don't even get me started on the Lieutenant Commander, she was a bad choice as an actress for the role and not believable as a Commander at all.

Worst part was soft-Low dialog, action scenes so loud I had to turn the volume down and the filming was was too dark. With all the money they spend on these movies turn a dam light on will you please!

No popcorn with this movie I sat and struggled through it.

I dare you not to smile
6 May 2021
Bob at his best in my opinion. If you are a Bob Hope Fan you will enjoy this movie, if you enjoy Humor, you will enjoy this movie, if you hate Bob Hope and like to make children cry, you will still enjoy this movie.

The Humor is a bit dated as it is from 1952 and it is now 2021, but funny is funny, it stands the test of time and Bob's delivery is spot on. Jane Russell is beautiful and snarky enough to make you laugh and enjoy the interaction with herself and Hope. What else would make this comedy Western more enjoyable you ask.... Well Thank you for asking, let's add a Trick Horse named Trigger and Roy Rogers to round out this fun Cowboys, Indians and Outlaws adventure. You will ride off into the sunset on your recliner having enjoyed a great movie and if you are like me a big ole bowl of popcorn and a beer to wash down the laughter.

Get Hard (2015)
4/10
The Writers and actors and the Director should do Hard Time for this one
3 May 2021
I couldn't sit through this movie in one sitting. I shut it off after the first time 20 minutes and the next time I tried I shut it off again halfway through it, The concept was there, but the chemistry between Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart was terrible and un-watchable.

This movie was so bad I shut it off and watched the news! I know this review is not going to be a popular one and I get it, but that's Entertainment.

I had no popcorn with this movie, it spoiled my apatite, I gave it a 4 star because there were a few lines that made me laugh and the premise was amusing, it was just badly delivered.

They are not saving the world, BUT . . . They make you forget about it for a bit
29 April 2021
Don't be a big deep thinker on this one. This movie is Fun and entertaining. They are not trying to cure cancer or save the world here they are trying to entertain and I will tell you I was so entertained I bought this movie and watch it at least once a year with friends.

This movie is silly, fun and will let you escape life's issues for an hour and 47 minutes. Oliver Platt is great and Scott Caan has some great comedic chops, however it is Martin Landau that steals the movie as the old school wrestler turned trainer.

Give this movie a chance and I bet it will pin you to the couch for a 3 count!

Popcorn for everyone!

So Nice they made it Twice, Fun-Fun-Fun
29 April 2021
The Second time around is even better with this Italian Job. There are a few movie reboots that I enjoy as much or more than the original and this one is it. A great cast and a great crime caper, being a fan of movies I went back and watched the original 1969 Michael Caine version of this and I will say they operate on the same story line and are very similar, but they are standalone movies as well. They are both fun to watch and it makes you root for the robbers. This version they have updated the technology and the dialog and made it as good if not better than the original, Seth Green will make you laugh. It is entertaining to watch as their plan unfolds.

Now I must add a side note, that I ate a BLT and a small bag of chips and enjoyed the movie and my nosh.

Short and sweet on this one... I am a huge John Wayne fan and as such this movie pales in comparison just a little for me, however it is a good movie, a good story, well-acted and Directed. I only ask you see the original John Wayne version and then watch Jeff Bridges as Rooster.

Good Solid movie and a credit to the Western genre. A side note I had a bag of Cape Cod BBQ chips while I watched this movie and I enjoyed them both.

Hudson Hawk soars
29 April 2021
Let me tell you my reviews do not take up a lot of space and I practically never give a synopsis of the movie because you can get that anywhere. However what my reviews will tell you is an everyday movie fans look at if it was entertaining and whether they did their job to telling a story. Don't listen to critics they have their own agendas.

This movie won more Razzie awards than any movie released that year (1991) and was rated as one of Bruce Willis's worst movies (Obviously they didn't anticipate Once Upon a time in Venice). I think this is one of his best aside from Die Hard of course. This movie bring him back to what made him famous (Moonlighting), his comedic delivery and snarkieness make every scene work.

The Cat Burglar has charm and an innocence that matches well with some slap stick and a great crime caper. Don't listen to the critics, give Hudson Hawk a look.

Is it cheesy? . . . Yes, Is it Fun? . . . Yes. I bet you repeat a few lines from the movie after you see it! Ring-Ding Goat Cheese Pizza! I had 2 bowls of Popcorn on this one, I spilled the first one when I laughed at the Nintendo comment.

A Hidden and Underrated Gem and should be in every Bruce Willis Collection.

The Postman Delivers
29 April 2021
Listen I know that Costner has a rep. For long drawn out story lines and his movies can be on the slow side, but give this one a chance, it makes you feel proud at the end and I tell you that you will not feel like you wasted your time and if you do I will refund your money on this review, with your receipt of course.

It is Post-Apocalyptic, but don't hold that against it, it has some great twists and turns, it has action and even some romance, if you are into that sort of thing and in the end you feel better about the world in general. I enjoyed 2 bowls of Popcorn and a beer with this movie.

Who knows you may want to hug your postal carrier after this movie.

Thunder Force More Like Thunder Thud
29 April 2021
Melissa McCarthy is becoming the David Schwimmer (Friends) of actors, they are the same character in everything they are in. I won't drag this review out and say how mediocre I think the acting was or how I think Director and writer Ben Falcone should stick to acting. I will simply say if you are looking to shut your brain pan off for an hour and 46 minutes, you could do worse that Thunder Force. McCarthy should go back to TV and Octavia please be a bit more selective. There were a few funny lines but overall, the usual Melissa McCarthy humor. On a side note I had nacho's and the crunching made some of the dialog incoherent so I had that going for me.

If you like Melisa McCarthy watch Identity Thief, She and Jason Bateman will keep you laughing in that one.

Meh!
29 April 2021
I wanted to say that Eddie Murphy was funny and still had some comedic relevance, But I cant. I Sat, I watched, I smirked, but that was about all I could manage. In the current and ongoing Pandemic where a lot of folks are working from home and streaming into or calling into work, I felt that these actors made me feel that they too were just phoning it in. I can't tell you it was a waste of time because there were a few parts that made me smile, but overall I think most of us watched this movie because we were invested in the characters from the first movie. I didn't hate it, but I would probably never watch this movie again and defiantly not add it to my collection. What I will tell you is that I enjoyed my popcorn while I watched.
