Earthling (2005)
9/10
Heart-Wrenching and Beautiful
20 September 2005
Filled with gorgeous locations and spectacular cinematography, "Earthling" directed by wildlife film maker, Wolfgang Bayer and his son, Tristan, proved itself to be an enormously entertaining "home movie" about dreams and the lengths you go to make them come true. Truly inspirational, "Earthling" follows Tristan as he and his family trek across the globe after his father's heart attack. Feeling it is his responsibility to show his family the world, Wolfgang takes Tristan, his wife Candi, and their daughter Mailaika to go explore the world. Narrated by Tristan, the film is an amazing story of a young man's love of nature and the old Austrian guy who showed it to him. The Bayers's story is fantastic; a loving portrayal of family ties and relationships, upstaged by beautiful landscapes and "midnight sunsets". This film is a must see.
