as one of the first horror movies i ever viewed(and the first friday movie i ever saw!!)it is still my favourite horror movie to date! although the friday movies have taken a battering over the years,being typcast as a typical slasher movie or an immataion of halloween,friday the 13th 3 is reccomended viewing for any horror fan(as are the first 4 movies in the friday series) it starts were part2 leaves off then enter some funky music(hot ice)and the 3-d images and you certainly dont think your watching a friday movie!until the movie starts!grainy and dark adds to the atmosphere as does the excellent sound track(along with the traditional ki-ki-ki-ma-ma-ma!)then the killing begins!!!this is the one were jason gets his hockey mask,this is the most intense friday and this has the best ending of a friday movie! i strongley recommend that if you have seen any of the friday series this ones a must!or if your just a horror fan in genral then check it out!put in the dvd,dim the lights,grab the pop-corn and join jason in the woods!!!

the first of its kind,that spawned so many copy cat movies,john carpenters "halloween" has you hooked right from the word go! the self styled 4/5 beat,the gritty camera styles,the mike myers/william shatner mask,a kitchen knife and jamie lee curtis,what more can you ask for?

the all american physco,the home comming,the all round tension and suspense!when i first watched this movie i hit the rewind button and watched it all over again,and now with the 25yr dvd release edition there is so much more to watch with the 2 disc dvd edition!

as is with other horror movies from this era(friday the 13th,nightmare on elm street)the first one is the best one!full of scares,twists and a great sound track by carpenter himself,will have you coming back for more!it inspired a great sequel that follows on from that night,all though carpenter himself admitted he was not sure what he was doing with part2,it will fill the void left from halloween itself!

if you are a fan of halloween then check out halloween 2,assault on precinct 13,or the thing!all carpenter classics!

as soon as you put the dvd in to the player you are gripped by the synthesizer sound track(as with halloween carpenter wrote the score!)that apparently inspired phil oakey of the human league to write their first release being boiled!

as a gang swear with a blood oath to avenge 6 killed members,lt bishop attends precinct 9(precinct 9?)division 13,for what looks to be the most boring night on duty ever!

1 dead girl and gang member later precinct 13(or is it 9?)is under attack!with the part of the film that had me hooked!!the silenced assault on precinct 13(or is it 9!)

as it grows more and more desperate so does the tention!classic carpenter,classic soundtrack,classic ending!

10/10!
