Wonder Woman (1975)
I have good memories of this show. I was 3 years old when the show came out and was 7 when the show went off the air. I basically grew up with this show. I wanted to be Wonder Woman back then - Haha! Yea the show has sentimental value to me.
The Incredible Hulk (1977)
I have very fond memories of watching this show each week. Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno were amazing!! In 1977 I was 5 years old and watched it up until the show ended in 1982. Great times.
The Amazing Spider-Man (1977)
It Was A Good Show
I used to watch this show every week. I loved it. I was disappointed when the show was canceled even though I was 7 years old when it was canceled. I have fond memories of this one.
My childhood. I grew up watching Adam West and Burt Ward as the dynamic duo - still love them. The show is very much comic book material - it's the old comics coming to life. Quite enjoyable!
Superman Returns (2006)
Not Too Bad
Pretty decent movie. Story not to shabby and the special effects were mediocre. I have likes and dislikes about the film.
What I disliked: 1) Lois Lane. Kate Bosworth was flatter than a pancake - BORING portrayal of Lois. 2) If the island Luther made was of kryptonite, then how was Superman able to move it into outerspace? Worse he had a piece of the poisonous stuff broke off into him while flying the island to space.
What I liked: 1) Kevin Spacey as Lex Luther - he was perfect! Spot-on!! 2) Brandon Routh was super as Clark Kent! His Superman was okay but his portrayal of Kent was amazing - almost identical to Christopher Reeves!! 3) The throwback to the Christopher Reeve's movies!! This movie felt retro at times. Enjoyed that about it.
Overall an alright movie.
Comic Book Stuff
Their is no question that this film is the stuff of comic books. Impossible, nonsensical but fun. No this is not a good Superman film but it's not as awful as some make it out to be. Sure it bombed and even Christopher Reeve says this one hurt his career a bit but it is crazy comic book entertainment - so I like it a bit.
Superman III (1983)
It's Not All Bad
This is comic book stuff! The impossible happens and makes this a fun superhero movie.
Ross Webster and Gus Gorman team up to create a super computer. Clark Kent rekindles his romance with his old high school sweetheart. All is well until Ross talks Gus into creating a synthetic kryptonite to kill Superman - it does work because 58% of what kryptonite is made of is unknown to mankind. Gus does some thinking and substitutes tar in it's place which ends up turning Superman evil. Clark Kent must find a way to get things back right again.
I Love This Very Much!
Sure there are some differences in the Theatrical and Donner cut - but not so much the films are so different. Really you get most of the same jokes, same scenes and a bonus to the Donner cut - Marlon Brando!
Honestly, if you enjoy Christopher Reeve's Superman II Theatrical then you should watch the Donner Cut for pleasure.
One of the Best Superhero Films
This is my childhood!! Christopher Reeves is still my Superman all these years later. He was great in the role - in fact, the whole cast is super. Great story. All around fun film - recommended!!
Batman & Robin (1997)
Not All That Bad
I think this film is better than the 3.8 IMDb rating - this is undeserving in my opinion. The movie isn't perfect by any means but it is better than the rating. Overall, the film is quite fun to watch - I only have a couple of pet peeves with it.
Pet Peeves: 1) Batgirl. I hate the way she comes in and steals Robin's bike and goes out after lying to her uncle Alfred that she's going to bed. She is NOT a role-model while bashing Poison Ivy for not being a good role-model. Batgirl please!! I also didn't like how she knew how to work all of the bat equipment without proper training. That is bull. 2) Batnipples and batbutts - come on that is so dumb!! 3) Colours to bright on the screen at times. 4) Too cartoony at times.
What I like: 1) Fun story and film. 2) The retro feel at times - sometimes it's almost like watching Adam West and Burt Ward - I dig that. 3) It feels like watching a live action comic - love the comic book feel.
Batman Forever (1995)
Not As Bad As The Critics Say
The film is not all that bad. Yes it has flaws and things that bothered me about it but overall it is an entertaining movie.
Problems: 1) Sometimes there is too much brightness - too neon. 2) Batman nipples and butt - come on now, the batnipples are bad enough but the batbutt needed to go!! 3) Two-face acting too much like The Joker - since when did Harvey do all that mess in the comics? 4) Pink hair on the Riddler - that looked bad. 5) Sometimes looked like a cartoon. 6) Since when is a college aged adult a ward of the state? Referring to Bruce watching over Richard. 7) Too many explosions. 8) Jim Carrey's exaggerated overacting at times.
What I did like about the film: The comic book look and colours - I dig on that. I liked the story for the most part. The introduction of Robin was an enjoyment to me. And the fact I was entertained overall watching this one. So it's not all that bad.
Batman Returns (1992)
I am one of those people that enjoyed this movie to the fullest! Great casting, good story and all around fun.
I'll admit the film has a lot of sentimental value to me - the reason for the extra stars - but out side of my own personal good memories this is a pretty fun movie overall. Enjoyable.
I'll admit I'm a sucker for this film. I was 17 when this came out - that year I was The Joker for Halloween - had fun scaring the kids. So this film brings back good memories for me.
As far as films go, this is a good 'superhero' movie if you like that sorta thing. It's really a masterpiece in superhero cinema and a great cast to watch!
X: First Class (2011)
I was rather unimpressed with this film. I mean it's alright - not awful but not good. I did like the backstory on Magneto, Xavier, Mystique and Beast but that's about it. I was unimpressed with the story overall. And I didn't like the 'new' to the franchise mutants - they were pretty much bunk.
Worth a one time watch for me.
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
Good Movie - A LOT Going On
There is so much going on in this movie - you have to pay close attention or you will be lost.
The downside to the film: Sadly there are characters that are undeveloped - we don't even know their names or the extent of their powers.
The plus side to the movie: Lots of great action sequences, the well known characters are further developed and the story is rather good.
Over all a fun watch.
Perfect Follow-up Film
Great story-line, stunning special effects, cool visuals, and over all outstanding sci-fi action-adventure story.
X-men are still my favorite Marvel universe movies and characters. These films helped to solidify my love for them.
Wonderful movie - a must see!
My favorite superhero franchise - X-Men series! All the mutants are incredible but I'll admit that Wolverine is definitely my favorite!
This first film is an extraordinary opening to the franchise. I doubt there are many that haven't seen this series but for those that haven't - you should!!
Shrek Forever After (2010)
Great Final Chapter
Good final chapter! Shrek didn't realize he had it all, he decided he wanted to be an ogre again for just one day. He made a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to get that one day but little did he know that 'stiltskin wanted some more in return - Shrek's life ended!! It's up to Shrek to put things back right again.
I liked it a lot!
Not A Horror - It's An Action Flick
I paid $3 for this film - but it is slightly entertaining for the price.
What I hate about this film: The story. Way to much focus on the military blowing things up and not enough story about how it's a long and tedious matter to find a cure for a virus. This is my pet peeve about the film. This creates nothing more than a cheap action film focusing on destroying things like car wrecks, bombs, gun fire, etc...
I knew the military was going to be involved - which is fine IF the story was really a good story. Not the general telling the doctor to remove the tooth from the girl and find a cure in 10 minutes (which she did) -- that is B. S.!!
Watch if you like all action and some werewolves. Pass this by if you like a good werewolf horror movie.
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
A Good 3rd Film
This is a good 3rd film but it does loose some of it's steam. I didn't like how they quickly showed how Flint Marko became Sandman without much explanation of what exactly happened to him. Otherwise I really enjoyed the movie.
Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Spidey is at it Again!
This movie is almost as good as the first film. Only complaint I have is we needed more Dr. Ock. I felt Dr. Ock took a backseat to the other things going on in the film. Otherwise this is a great followup movie!!
First off, Toby McGuire is perfect as Peter Parker/Spidey and secondly William Defoe is wonderful as Norman Osborn/Goblin. If fact, the entire casting is spot on!!
Great special effects with a super good story. I really love this film.
Dragonheart: Vengeance (2020)
The film isn't grand but it's alright to watch. I like the 1st, 3rd and 4th films the best! The 2nd and 4th films are entertaining but just don't have the same impact as the other films do.
This film was a pleasant surprise! I found this one enjoyable. I liked this one much better than the 2nd in the series. I like this one quite a bit.
Not Too Shabby
Not too shabby of a film. I did like it but it's got it's down points. This one has a story that I liked well enough to enjoy.
