A Truly Painful Viewing Experience.
15 December 2012
I've always hated the "Twilight" movies, but "Breaking Dawn, Part 2" is an atrocious film. Director Bill Condon has disappointed me greatly by making a movie that is cheesy and joyless. Until I saw this movie, I did not realize how awful Kristen Stewart really is. Stewart is a terrible choice for the role of Bella and she nearly ruined "Snow White And The Huntsman". Taylor Lautner's performance is unintentionally funny, but not exactly painful to watch. However, Robert Pattinson Is A Wonderful Actor. It is unfortunate that he is totally wasted in the role of sparkling vampire Edward Cullen. Pattinson was very good in both "Water For Elephants" and David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis" earlier this year.Lee Pace, who was absolutely brilliant in "Pushing Daisies, turns in a terrible performance as one of the vampires. Yes, the performances are really, really bad, but the movie has virtually nothing positive. When I say "virtually", I mean that the score is pretty good. The film's story is vapid and preposterous. When the film finally ends, you will breath a sigh of relief.I would rather be locked in a supply closet for two hours than sit through this horrible movie once more.

Heartbreaking, Brilliant, and Incredibly Beautiful. Wes Anderson's Film Is A Stunning Work Of Art.
13 December 2012
Wes Anderson Is An Extraordinary Artist And "Moonrise Kingdom" Is His Absolute Finest. The Film Is, At It's Core, About True Love. The Film Tells the Tale Of Two Young Lovers And Their Journey. The Cast Is Amazing And Includes Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Bruce Willis,Frances McDormand,Tilda Swinton,Jason Schwartzman, Jared Gilman, And The Fantastic Kara Hayward. "Moonrise Kingdom" Is An Incredibly Moving Film That Will Make You Believe In The Magic Of Cinema. To Call "Moonrise Kingdom" One Of The Best Movies Of The Year Would Be To Insult It's Greatness. The Film Is Easily One Of My Favourite Films EVER. A Truly Incredible Cinematic Experience.

An Overrated, But Important Film.
13 December 2012
Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" Has Been Hailed By Many As A Masterpiece. Some Even Called It One Of The Greatest Films Ever Made. The Film Is Currently Listed As The 7th Best Film Ever On IMDb. The Film Is Not A Masterpiece, But Is Is Certainly An Important Film. Nolan's Direction Is Beyond Superb And The Story Is Compelling. Heath Ledger's Academy-Award Winning Performance As The Joker Is Truly Brilliant. Christian Bale Is Easily The Best Actor To Ever Inhabit The Role Of Batman. The Performance Of Michael Caine Is Remarkable. Morgan Freeman's Prescence Adds Gravitas And Credibility To The Film. This Is No Ordinary Superhero Movie. The Film Feels Far Too Long And The Script Is Uneven, But "The Dark Knight" Is Extremely Well Made. My Main problem With The Film Is Batman's Voice. Bale's Batman Speaks In An Incredibly Deep And Husky Voice That Distracts From The Seriousness of Nolan's Story. I Do Feel That Aaron Eckhart's Excellent Work As Harvey Dent Will Be Overshadowed, But He Is A Very Talented Actor. The Action Scenes Are Terrific And Have A Realistic Feel That Many Films Lack. The Plot Gets Weaker As The Film Goes On And I Did Not Like The Ending. Overall, "The Dark Knight" Is An Important Film. Nolan Has Turned A Ridiculous Comic Book Character Into Art.

Prometheus (I) (2012)
10/10
Absolutely Amazing!!!
27 November 2012
Ridley Scott Is The Master Of Science Fiction. "Prometheus" Is Masterful And Massively Under-appreciated. The Entire Cast Is Brilliant And Includes Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba, And The Extraordinary Michael Fassbender. The Brilliant Fassbender Plays A Highly Sophisticated Robot Named David. The Character Of David Was My Absolute Favorite. Fassbender's Stunning Performance Makes David The Most Compelling And Sympathetic Character Of The Entire Film, Which Is A Great Accomplishment. Scott's Direction Is Truly Amazing. "Prometheus" Is Not Only Some Of Scott's Finest Work, But Some Of The Best Direction In Cinema History. Many Complaints Center Around The Story And The Perceived Plot Holes, But The Film Is Much More Atmosphere Than Plot. The Film Is Closer To A Terrence Malick Film Than "Alien". The Marketing Campaign For "Prometheus" Has Made Everybody Think That The Film Is A Direct Prequel To "Alien". Despite What The Trailers And Buzz May Suggest, "Prometheus" Is A Very Film. It Reminded Me More Of "The Tree Of Life" Than "Alien. It's A Deeper And More Contemplative Film. The Cinematography Is Some Of The Greatest That I've Ever Seen. The Film Builds Atmosphere And Suspense Effortlessly And Powerfully. Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" Is The Greatest Science Fiction Film Since Scott's Own "Blade Runner".

This Movie Represents Everything I Hate About American Pop Culture
19 November 2012
"Here Comes The Boom" Is A Movie That Is Truly Terrible Without A Single Redeeming Quality. The Plot Simplistic And Utterly Moronic. Kevin James Plays A Teacher Who Becomes An MMA Fighter To Raise Money For The School In Which He Teaches. This Movie Is So Completely Dumb That Watching It Will Result In The Death Of Several Brain Cells. Salma Hayek Is Also In The Movie, Being Completely Above The Material. "Here Comes The Boom" Is Filled To The Brim With Mindless Physical Comedy. The Promos For The Movie Feature The Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow", A Mind-Numbing Song That Represents America's Increasingly Vapid Culture. "Here Comes The Boom" Is Marketed As A Family Film, But I Could Never Recommend This Movie To Anyone. I Absolutely Hate "Here Comes The Boom".

Bronson (2008)
10/10
A Brilliant Cinematic Achievement From Nicolas Winding Refn.
19 November 2012
Nicolas Winding Refn Is The Master Of Modern Cinema. "Bronson" Is A Masterful Film About Britain's Most Violent Prisoner, A Man Named Michael Peterson Who Was Later Renamed Charlie Bronson. The Brilliant Tom Hardy Portrays Bronson In One Of The Most Compelling Performances In Cinema History. The Opening Scene, Which Features Bronson Naked In His Cell Fighting Prison Guards, Is So Brilliantly Acted And Directed That One Needn't See Any More To Realize The Brilliance Of Then Film. Hardy's Performance Is So Incredibly Gripping That You Won't Believe Your Eyes. "Bronson" Has Been Frequently Compared To Stanley Kubrick's Overrated "A Clockwork Orange". I'm Of The Opinion That Nicolas Winding Refn's Film Is A Better And More Fully Realized Work Than "A Clockwork Orange". The Film Is Completely Unpredictable And Unbelievably Thrilling. There Is Not A Single Dull Second In "Bronson", With Hardy Keeping Viewer At Full Attention For The Entire Film. The Sequences Featuring Bronson In Makeup Onstage As Part Of A Vaudeville Routine Are Truly Stunning. The Film Explores The Life Of Michael Peterson, But Does Not Stop There. "Bronson" Examines The Psychotic Mind Of A Horribly Violent Man. "Bronson" Is One Of The Greatest Character Studies To Ever Grace The Screen. It Is A Truly Great Film From A Truly Great Artist.

Inception (2010)
10/10
Christopher Nolan's Flawed Masterpiece.
19 November 2012
Warning: Spoilers
"Inception" Is A Film That Only Nolan Could Made. That Is The Mark Of A True Master. The Film Is About Dreams And The Subconscious. Leonardo DiCaprio Portrays Cobb, A Mysterious Man Whose Profession Is Stealing Ideas From The Mind Of Others. Cobb Is Is Asked By A Billionaire CEO Named Mr. Saito, Played By Ken Watanabe, To Implant An Idea Into The Mind Of His Rival. This Process Is Called "Inception". At The Beginning Of The Film, Cobb Has Been Separated From His Family Because His Work Has Made Him A Fugitive. Mr. Saito Offers Cobb Freedom If He Can Successfully Plant An Idea In The Mind Of His Competitor. To Achieve This Complicated Task, Cobb Must Assemble A Team Of Associates To Ensure Success. Cobb's Team Includes Eames (The Excellent Tom Hardy), Ariadne (The Exquisite Ellen Page), and Cobb's Partner Arthur (The Brilliant Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Cobb Meets Ariadne Through A Professor (Played By Michael Caine)That Says She Is One Of The Most Talented Young Architects He Has Ever Seen. Cobb Becomes Mentor To Ariadne, Teaching Her How To Create Entire Worlds With The Power Of Her Mind. During Her Training, She Introduced To The Memory Of Cobb's Wife, Wonderfully Played By Marion Cotillard. Ariadne Starts To Have Trepidation About The Assignment And Feels That Cobb Cannot Be Trusted. "Inception" Is Undeniably Dazzling And Innovative. The Film, As Brilliant As It May Be, Is Not Without It's Flaws. The Film's Ideas Are Articulated Through Words When Those Ideas Should Be Communicated Through Images Alone. The Film Must Be Seen Multiple Times To Be Fully Understood. The Film's Detractor's Have Accused "Inception" Of Being Pretentious, When It Actually Is Not Pretentious At All. Emotion Is The Film's Center And Cobb's Emotional Arc Is The Driving Force Of The Film, Not The Visuals. The Dream Sequences Are Some Of The Most Visually Dazzling You Will Ever See. Christopher Nolan Is A Filmmaker At The Peak Of His Powers. First, Nolan Created A Gripping And Completely Jarring Story Of Amnesia In 2000's "Memento" And Made Batman A Real Person With A Heart And Soul In "Batman Begins". Now, Christopher Nolan Has Exceeded Expectations By Making A Thrilling And Masterful Meditation On The Psychology Of Dreams.

Haywire (2011)
10/10
Steven Soderbergh Has Made The Best Action Film Ever.
18 November 2012
Steven Soderbergh Is A Master. "Haywire" Is An Excellent Film And Arguably The Great Action Film Ever. The Cast Is Extraordinary And Includes Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas, And Gina Carano In Her Film Debut. The Action Is Riveting And Fluid. The Film Lacks The Choppy Editing Of Most Action Movies And Just Delivers Great Cinematic Fight Sequences. I Must Say That I Don't Care For Action Films, But I Absolutely Loved "Haywire". The Film Features Some Of The Best Actors In The World. Gina Carano Is A Fantastic Action Heroine Who I Would Love To See More Of. Carano Is An MMA Fighter With No Acting Experience. Soderbergh Know This And He Contstructs The Film Accordingly By Playing To Carano's Strengths. I Loved The Film's Gorgeous Cinematography And The Brilliant Choreography. "Haywire" Is Soderbergh At His Very Best And Absolutely My Favorite Action Film In Cinema History.

The Love Guru (2008)
1/10
Truly Awful.
18 November 2012
"The Love Guru" Is A Terrible Movie That Makes You Wonder If Mike Myers Has Any Actual Talent. In The Film, Myers Stars As The Titular "Love Guru", An Aspiring Spiritual Guide. The Character Is Irritating, Idiotic, And Racially Insensitive. The Rest Of The Cast Is Far Too Talented For This Atrocity. Justin Timberlake, Jessica Alba, Ben Kingsley, Stephen Colbert, And Mariska Hargitay In A Painful Cameo. There Would Be Absolutely No Joy In Viewing "The Love Guru" If It Weren't For The Brilliant Stephen Colbert. The Colbert Nation Will Love His Scenes As A Recovering Alcoholic And Sports Commentator. Colbert's Is The One And Only Thing That Keeps "The Love Guru" From Earning A "0". Mariska Hargitay Is A Great Actress That Is Totally Wasted Here. Her Name Is Used A Greeting In The World Of The Film And That Tiny Little Gimmick Is Stretched Far Beyond It's Welcome. The Scenes With Verne Troyer Are Offensive And Not Funny In Any Way. I Have No Idea Why Mike Myers Is So Obsessed With Making Jokes At The Expense Of Dwarfs. It Is Incredibly Mean-Spirited And Absolutely NOT Funny. Jessica Alba Is Totally Taken Advantage Of And Is Forced To Deliver Some Of The Dumbest And Most Misogynistic Lines In Recent Memory. Alba Has Proved Herself To Be A Talented Actress With Her Excellent Collaborations With Robert Rodriguez, But Nearly Every Other Film Gives Her Material That Is Totally Beneath Her. Justin Timberlake Is Brilliant On "Saturday Night Live", But His Performance Is Just As Painful As The Others. Romany Malco, The Hilarious Actor From "Weeds" And "The 40-Year Old Virgin", Is Also Wasted Here. I Couldn't Help But Wonder How The Producers Could Attain Such A Wonderful Cast With Such Dreadful Material. Daniel Tosh, Another Great Comic With A Cameo In The Film, Joked On "tosh.0": "I'm In It And Even I Haven't Seen It". "The Love Guru Is Absolutely Atrocious. It's One Of The Worst Movies Of The Decade And Certainly One Of The Most Offensive Films To Come Out Of Hollywood In Recent Years.

Casino Royale (2006)

Absolutely The Best Bond Film. Daniel Craig And Eva Green Are Excellent.
16 November 2012
Martin Campbell's "Casino Royale" Is Not Only A Great Bond Film, But Also An Excellent Film. Daniel Craig Is An Excellent Actor And His Performance As James Bond Is Amazing. Craig Creates A Real Character, Not Just An Idea Of A Man. James Bond Is A Real Person In "Casino Royale", Something That No Other Bond Film Has Achieved Or Even Attempted. Martin Campbell's Direction Is Thrilling and Handsome. The Opening Scene, Which Was Filmed On Black-and-White, Is Beautiful And Compelling. The Villain Is A Man Named Le Chiffre Who Cries In Tears Of Blood. Le Chiffre Is Played By Mads Mikkelsen Of "Valhalla Rising" And "Pusher". Mads Mikkelsen Makes A Great Bond Villain And Is Yet Another Highlight Of The Film. However, My Favorite Performance In "Casino Royale" Is That Of Eva Green. Green Plays A Woman Named Vesper Lynd, The Film's "Bond Girl". Eva Green Is An Extraordinary Actress And Lends More Depth To The Character Than I Thought Possible. Vesper Lynd Is Flawed, Intelligent, And Incredibly Sexy. Vesper Is Much More Than Arm Candy For James Bond. Her Character Is Significant To The Story. Eva Green Is Not Portrayed As A Bombshell, But A Femme Fatale. Her Eye Makeup Is Absolutely Stunning And The Purple Dress She Wears Is Gorgeous. Vesper Lynd Was My Favorite Part Of "Casino Royale", Which Was A Remarkable Feat. I Loved This Film And The New Take On The Iconic Character. You Will Enjoy This Film Even If You Have Never Seen A Bond Film. "Casino Royale" Is As Much An Origins Story As It It A Bond Movie. The Film Is Highly Entertaining Without Ever Sacrificing Depth Or Character For Action, Which There Is Plenty Of. "Casino Royale" Is An Excellent Film.

A Compelling Exploration Of Film Preservation.
13 November 2012
"These Amazing Shadows" Is A Film For Cinephiles And Those Concerned With The History Of Culture. The Film Explores Cinema History And Why Exactly Movies Are As Culturally Significant As They Are. The Movie Features Interviews With Christopher Nolan, Rob Reiner, Tim Roth, John Waters, Leonard Maltin, Julie Dash, John Singleton, And Many More. "These Amazing Shadows" Discusses Films As Diverse As "Blade Runner" And "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" And "Star Wars" And "Citizen Kane". The Film Features An Inside Look At Film Preservation And Delivers A Convincing Case For The Preservation Of Our Greatest Films. "These Amazing Shadows" Tends To Skip From Film To Film Without Ever Gaining Much Depth. The Movie Tries To Cover The Entire History Of Cinema In Just 88 Minutes, But It Feels Rushed And Unsatisfying. Overall, The Film Is A Moving And Passionate Study Of Cinema History And How It Relates To Our Future As A Culture.

Training Day (2001)

Smiles And Cries.
12 November 2012
Antoine Fuqua Is A Very Talented Filmmaker And "Training Day" Is His Finest Film. Ethan Hawke Plays A Rookie Cop Who Is Training To Be A Narcotics Officer In The LAPD And Denzel Washington Co-Stars As The Highly-Decorated Officer Assigned To Train Him. First Of All, The Two Leads Are Absolutely Fantastic. Hawke Delivers The Best Performance Of His Career As Jake Hoyt. As Rookie Hoyt, Ethan Hawke Is Never Stiff Or Inauthentic. Washington Is Amazing In The Role Of Detective Sergeant Alonzo Harris. Denzel Washington Practices Total Role Immersion In This Film And After A While You Forget You're Watching A Movie Star And Just Get Lost In His Brilliant Performance. The Film Is Shot In Such A Gritty And Compelling Way Which Lends The Film Such Gravity And Realism. David Ayer's Script Is Intelligent, Taut, And Totally Fearless. As Good As The Script May Be, The Performances Of Hwake And Washington Elevate The Film To Riveting Heights. Everyone Knows That Denzel Washington Is A Great Actor, He Won The Academy Award For This Role, But Anyone Who Doubts The Talents Of Ethan Hawke Will Be Stunned By The Great Performance That He Delivers In This Film. The Story Is Compelling, Even If The Ending Is Less Than Satisfying. I Highly Recommend "Training Day" For The Powerful Filmmaking On Display And The Terrific Performances By Ethan Hawke And Denzel Washington.

"High Road" Is Absolutely Brilliant!!! Unlike Anything You've Ever Seen.
10 November 2012
Warning: Spoilers
"High Road" Is The Single Greatest Comedy Film In The History Of American Cinema. Matt Walsh Has Proved Himself Time nd Time Again To Be A Great Comedic Voice, But Never As Strongly As In His Directorial Debut. The Story Is Simple, Yet Totally Original. The Hilarious James Pumphrey Stars As Fitz, A Stoner And Musician Who Is Suddenly Thrown Into A Threatening Situation When He Is Caught Dealing Weed To Someone At A Local Convenience Store And Goes On The Lam. Fitz Then Encounters Jimmy, A Sixteen-Year Old Who Is Running Away From His Domineering Father. Jimmy's Father Is Played By Rob Riggle. Fitz Reluctantly Takes Jimmy With Him After Assaulting Jimmy's Father With A Brick, Not Knowing That The Man Was Jimmy's Father. The Two Are Going To Oakland, California To See Fitz's Father After Fitz Learns That His Girlfriend Monica, Played By The Excellent Abby Elliot, Is Pregnant With Fitz's Child. Along The Way, They An Encounter A Prostitute Played By The Amazing Morgan Walsh. The Role Exists Only In A Cameo, But It Is Unquestionably One Of The Most Memorable Scenes In The Film. Meanwhile, Monica Has No Idea Where Fitz Has Disappeared To And Drives To Oakland To Find Fitz. When Fitz Finally Finds His Father, We Learn That Is A Drag Queen And Is Played By The Brilliantly Hysterical Rich Fulcher. The Following Scenes Are Both Hilarious And Also Provoke A Genuine Emotion Response In The Viewer. The Entire Cast Is Stellar, With Dylan O'Brien Playing Jimmy And Featuring Ed Helms, Lizzy Caplan, Joe Lo Truglio, Horatio Sanz, Matt L. Jones, Andrew Daly, And The Terrific Zach Woods. The Film Was Directed By Matt Walsh With A Completely Improvised Script. The Film Features Many Members Of UCB And Has A Similar Feel To What The UCB Has Become Known For. The Film Is Unlike Anything You Have Ever Seen. "High Road" Is Equal Parts Hilarity And Heart. Walsh's Direction Is Excellent And Wonderfully Unique. "High Road" Is, In My Opinion, A Perfect Film That Exceeds Any And All Expectations. It's One Of My Very Favorite Films.

Marc Forster's "Quantum Of Solace" Is An Excellent Action Film And My Favorite Bond Thus Far.
7 November 2012
Daniel Craig Is A Wonderful Actor, Which Makes Him An Excellent James Bond. Many Agree That Craig Is The Best Bond In The History Of The Franchise. I Enjoyed "Quantum Of Solace" Even More Than "Casino Royale" And Thought That It Was Unfairly Maligned By Critics At The Time Of It's Release. The Action In This Film Is Relentless And Riveting. It Accomplishes Exactly What An Action Film Should. The Extraordinary Olga Kurylenko Stars As Camille Montes, The Bond Girl. Olga Kurylenko Is My Absolute Favorite Bond Girl Ever. She Is Smart, Dangerous, And Incredibly Sexy. The Film's Story Is Very Engaging And The Action Is Outstanding. Judi Dench Is Stellar As M. "Quantum Of Solace" Improves On Everything That Made "Casino Royale" An International Hit. Marc Forster Is A Very Talent Director And One That Would Like To See Direct Another Bond Film."Quantum Of Solace" Is An Exhilarating Film That Breathes New Life Into The Legacy Of James Bond.

"Act of Valor" Is Shameless Propaganda. A Movie For Mindless Jingos.
1 November 2012
This film is atrocious."Act of Valor" has no plot nor character development, it is simply propaganda. The majority of cast are not professional actors, but active duty Navy SEALS. That's the gimmick. You might like this film if you are a xenophobic, racist jingo that thinks that all non-Americans should be destroyed. However, if you have a heart and soul, then this film will not be effective. The non-stop action is indistinguishable from a first-person shooter video game, except that video games are more intellectually valuable than the trash. The American military has made a recruitment video and tried to pass it off as a film.

The Campaign (2012)
1/10
"The Campaign" Is Incredibly Disappointing. One of the Worst Films I Have Ever Seen.
22 October 2012
"The Campaign" is truly atrocious. If you watch this film, you will be disappointed. It sounds like it would be hard to go wrong with a cast that includes Will Ferrell, Zach Galifinakis, Jason Sudeikis, John Lithgow, and Dylan McDermott and a director like Jay Roach who has experience with both silly comedy ("Austin Powers in Goldmember") and mature political dramas ("Game Change" and Recount"). It went wrong. This film was torture to sit through. My expectations were high for "The Campaign" and were immediately lowered. I wanted a sharp political satire and received a low-brow farce made with absolutely no intelligence. The plot is almost nonexistent. Two candidates compete for votes and constantly try to destroy each other. The film mean-spirited, nasty, stupid, and 100% laugh-free. The brilliant Jack McBrayer is utterly wasted in a raunchy scene that makes you realize that you've wasted your money. Will Ferrell once again plays an exponentially exaggerated frat boy and Zach Galifinakis is nothing more than a crass homophobic stereotype. The one and only good performance is Dylan McDermott as a ruthless campaign strategist named Tim Whatley (the name of a dentist on Seinfeld) The ending totally reverses what the rest of the film has established, not that it gets better. the film starts out as a raunchy and tasteless farce and ends on a trite and sentimental note. "The Campaign" is a truly horrendous film.

The Girl (2012 TV Movie)
10/10
"The Girl" Is An Excellent Film!!!
22 October 2012
HBO has always made excellent films and "The Girl" is no exception. The film tells the story of the abusive relationship of Tippi Hedren and Alfred Hitchcock. I absolutely despise Alfred Hitchcock and his films. I think that Hitchcock is the single most overrated director in cinema history. Tippi Hedren is played by the lovely Sienna Miller with such feeling and grace. Alfred Hitchcock is played by Toby Jones with the skill and precision of an expert. Tippi is a beautiful young model that Hitchcock casts in "The Birds". Alfred abuses and exploits her at every turn. At the time, Alfred Hitchcock was the single most powerful director in Hollywood and he gleefully abused his power. One of my favorite things about "The Girl" is that it is directed in the manner of a Hitchcock film, building tension from the very first frame. Julian Jarrold's direction is absolutely fantastic. Gwyneth Hughes' script is completely riveting, with equal time given to storytelling and character development. The performance of Sienna Miller is a revelation. I strongly recommend "The Girl" to all cinephiles.

"Avatar" is a prime example of a triumph of style over substance.
10 October 2012
James Cameron is an incredibly overrated director. "Avatar" is a terrible film. The story is completely unoriginal and totally ridiculous. The acting is less than stellar. The dialogue is absolutely cringe-worthy. The CGI is groundbreaking and the only reason this film ever received any praise. The film is thoroughly conventional. The script feels far more like a campy exploitation flick on Syfy rather than groundbreaking cinema."Avatar" absolutely did not deserve to be competing at the Academy Awards against far superior films like Kathryn Bigelow's "The Hurt Locker" and Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds". I absolutely hated this film!!!

Absolutely The Single Worst Film In Cinema History!!!
10 October 2012
"Delta Farce" is the single worst film ever made. Nothing else comes close. Not only is this film not amusing in any way whatsoever, it is also highly offensive. The film is racist, misogynistic, and primarily xenophobic. The story is about three men who think they are fighting the war in Iraq, when they are actually in Mexico. "Delta Farce is the worst script ever written. Larry The Cable Guy is an atrocious actor. DJ Qualls is absolutely cringe-worthy in the film. I am not easily offended, but I was strongly offended by this film. "Delta Farce" is poison. To call "Delta Farce" a film would be an insult to art of cinema.

Blade Runner (1982)
10/10
The Single Greatest Science Fiction Film In The History Of Cinema!!!
10 October 2012
Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner is a masterpiece and a better film than "Alien. The film is about a future where Replicants, biorobotic beings created by the Tyrell Corporation that are identical to humans. Harrison Ford plays Rick Deckard, who is given the task of hunting Replicants and "retiring" them. Sean Young is perfectly cast as a replicant named Rachael, who is investigated by Deckard. Edward James Olmos plays a mysterious detective named Gaff who speaks in a strange language that is a mixture of Spanish, French, Chinese, German, Hungarian, and Japanese called Cityspeak. Rutger Hauer plays a truth-seeking replicant named Roy Batty in a fiercely moving performance. The film's direction is flawless. The overall atmosphere of "Blade Runner" is astonishing. If the Director's Cut is available, I strongly recommend you watch that version instead of the original cut. The Director's Cut improved on an already great film. "Blade Runner is a better film than "2001", "Star Wars, and even Scott's other masterpiece, "Alien". Ridley Scott is a true master.

This Film Is Brilliant!!!
10 October 2012
"In Bruges" is a brilliant film. Colin Farrell delivers an outstanding performance as Ray, a rookie hit-man who is ordered to execute a priest, but inadvertently kills a young boy in the process. Brendan Gleeson plays an expert hit-man named Ken, who is ordered to take Ray to Bruges and hide out until their boss, played by Ralph Fiennes, contacts them. Ken loves Bruges, but Ray hates being there and constantly complains about the city: "If I'd grown up on a farm and was retarded, Bruges might impress me. But I didn't, so it doesn't." This film is hilarious. The script, written by the brilliant Martin McDonagh, is dark, mature, brilliant, witty, shocking, and endlessly entertaining. Martin McDonagh directs the film with an enormous amount of passion and feeling. Colin Farrell delivers the performance of his career in "In Bruges". The film's cinematography is beautiful and perfectly captures the city in all of it's living glory. "In Bruges is of the best films I have ever seen.

The Greatest Film Stanley Kubrick Ever Made.
21 September 2012
Stanley Kubrick was a master filmmaker. His final film was his greatest. "Eyes Wide Shut" is a true masterpiece. The film is much better than "A Clockwork Orange". "Eyes Wide Shut" is a film that demands repeat viewings. The film is riveting, erotic and absolutely terrifying. The cinematography is some of the best that I have ever seen. The performances are flawless. The story is undeniably brilliant. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are completely convincing as husband and wife. The entire film feels like a lucid dream. The film is clearly inspired by the work of David Lynch. The film was completed just days before Kubrick's death. Stanley Kubrick believed that "Eyes Wide Shut" was his greatest contribution to the art of cinema. He was right. "Eyes Wide Shut" makes you feel like no other film has ever done.

Fantastic!!!
21 September 2012
Ben Affleck's film "The Town" is great. The direction is excellent. All of the performances are fantastic. The story is original and feels very personal. Charlestown is the perfect setting for the film. The characters are compelling and fully fleshed out. Ben Affleck proves all of his critics wrong with a riveting performance. Jeremy Renner delivers an excellent performance. Jon Hamm and Chris Cooper turn small roles into performances that are quite memorable. Rebecca Hall's performance is wonderful and emotionally engaging. However, my favorite performance of the film was delivered by Blake Lively. She is unbelievably beautiful, as well as a stellar actress. The screenplay is intelligent, riveting and quite original. I can't believe it wasn't nominated for Best Picture. I absolutely loved the film. "The Town" is one of the best films of 2010.

Superstar (1999)
6/10
Conventional, pointless, but also very funny
21 September 2012
My expectations were very low for "Superstar", a film based on a series of "Sarurday Night Live" sketches. Even though the movie is pointless and hopelessly conventional, it is also very funny and quite entertaining. Molly Shannon is quirky and charming as Mary Catherine Gallagher, a geeky Catholic girl who just wants to be famous. The film also stars Will Ferrell, Tom Green, and Casey Wilson. There is almost no story in "Superstar", but this is a type of movie that does not require a story to entertain. Mary wants to be kissed by the hottest and most popular guy in school and decides to enter a talent show to impress him. The movie is smarter than you might think. Molly Shannon is a highly underrated comedic actress. The film also features a very funny performance by Will Ferrell as the object of Mary's affection. "Superstar" is weird, quirky, and very entertaining. All things considered, "Superstar is quite good and is easily the best "SNL" film.

Arguably The Greatest Film Ever Made
16 September 2012
Paul Thomas Anderson's film "There Will Be Blood" is a masterpiece. The performance of Daniel Day-Lewis is truly incredible. The opening scene is truly astounding. The music, which was composed by Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, is absolutely breathtaking. Daniel Plainview is one of the great characters in cinema history. The performance of Paul Dano is understated and wonderfully nuanced. The screenplay, adapted from the Upton Sinclair novel "Oil!", is absolutely brilliant. Paul Thomas Anderson is undoubtedly the single greatest filmmaker of his generation. The story make take place in the early 1900s, but the themes of religion, business, and capitalism have a remarkable relevance in present-day society. The cinematography is absolutely stunning. The gusher scene is especially striking. It will be remembered as one of the greatest scenes in cinema history. Paul Thomas Anderson's direction is the strongest that I have seen since Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now". The ending is brilliant and satisfying, despite receiving much criticism. "There Will Be Blood" is a true masterpiece of American cinema and arguably the greatest film in the history of cinema.
