Trash

Can't say how bad this show is because it is that bad. Lets just say that anything good in it was washed, no rinsed out in the first season which most real trekkies hated anyhow. By the time this show hit season 3 you should know, if you have a brain in your scull that you are being intellectually insulted by the moronic writing. Nothing to see here folks, move on. Worst Trek eva.

Totally lost me at season 3
15 December 2020
I feel like I should have seen season 3 coming after the way the s1 ended. S1 was actually good imo but they have been too liberal with eliminating interesting characters just to keep this show feeling somewhat fresh. The main problem I am having with the way the show is atm is that the whole show just feels like one long episode. I much preferred the less streamlined structure that tng and the original star trek had, a more broken up episodic approach to the show. Now it just feels like a movie that has gone on for far too long. Anyhow, on this note I am dropping out mid-season 3 because its become far to nonsensical to be worth watching anymore.

Yeah I don't know
12 December 2020
It's not a bad movie in its own right. Boy stalks girl, they end up on a ride together and break down on a road in the middle of nowhere. Ghosts haunts them because the area has a history and well there's not that much more to it. It felt lacking in substance as a whole at the end.

For a movie full of talk and there is none at the end to wrap it up just feels amateur. There's no scene's in the movie that are particularly memorable either just some stumbling around in the snow. Just another episode of the x-files. Forgettable.

A good King mini series
11 December 2020
Very apocalyptic drama about the forces of good and evil coming to a head. The general feel that the movie portrays, the flu that killed most of the world and a vacated world with lots of familiar faces. Worth seeing for any Stephen King fan's.

Poorly wrapped

I really loved this show until the angels showed up then it really just became a must watch hoping that it could move past this mistake but it never did. To add insult to injury it completed itself very amateurishly which just whatever...

Most memorable global apocalyptic movie I have seen to date
2 December 2020
*I saw this on the big screen when it was released*

Since I saw Alien(1979) as a kid I have always been a Ian Holm fan and it was great to see him in this movie even if it was brief. Combine that with some truly terrifying special fx about the world ecosystem collapsing and great performances all round and you almost get a movie too awesome to fail.

I rate this movie up there with 2012 which did have "cooler" special fx and was more exciting per se but this movie unwrapped itself in a more psychologically effective way. There was no magic cure at the end, no everything will be alright if you take the pill solution which made the movie's suspense so much more believable.

Take it as you want but The Day After Tomorrow has content that might be perceived as a dramatized warning to us all even if it is all hocus pocus with its science.

Rated: Memorable and enjoyable from beginning to end and a must see for world apoc junkies.

The end of the classic terminator movies
1 December 2020
Following the original formula Terminator 3 takes on one last ride of a hero being sent back in time to save conner and whom ever else he is with to guide humanity to survival. When I say original formula I am talking about not throwing out the stories that have come before it too. This is the last time we get to enjoy watching them fight it up with the same gripping narrative and suspense driven action scenes that hold true to the original without nuking the fridge. Nuff said, rip terminator.

So much fun to watch
29 November 2020
After seeing The Raid 2 I had to see the original and it was great. Seriously, it is because of movies like this that one can feel confident that martial arts movies are progressing in the right direction.

The story unfolds at a nice even rate keeping the viewer waiting for the finale where we will understand exactly how far the characters will go for whatever reason they give us. The truth is though we don't care so long as there's plenty of lethal violence and blood shedding.

The Raid Redemption is a very cohesively constructed and portrayed story full of action and adventure, an absolute joy to watch. A must see for any martial arts movie fan. It's basically martial arts porn and beautiful porn at that.

Deathwell (2020)
5/10
A modern woke amateur arty movie
29 November 2020
A drug dealer gets in a fix with his supplier all the meanwhile the cops are closing in on him. He does some bad grand theft auto styled crimes and ends up in prison. Why its called Deathwell, I don't think it matters.

A couple of annoying things stood out in this movie, too much muttering of words and difficulty seeing what was going on. The acting wasn't bad, it was more of a mixed bag oft going from semi decent to amateur.

The movie goes on with the protagonist getting marked by the cops and going into a catatonic depressed state with some trippy arty editing and directing effects. Not bad actually. However, after a while you start to wonder why you are still watching (as this part does go on) but you just need to see how they wrap it up even though you know it can only end one way for this guy.

It would be easy to attack this movie for being incoherent or choppy but its like that for a reason, you'll find out at the end. Not bad, I kinda liked it especially the musical scores.

It's just a bit too dumb
29 November 2020
Using an old and tired formula, woman meets homicidal psycho who is a complete moron, woman gets all the bad luck, psycho has lots of luck, cops turn up but do nothing, psycho can clean up a massive crime scene in seconds, women should escape but psycho can suddenly teleport and then whatever. Meh.

Under-rated black comedy horror
28 November 2020
It's kind of a semi-anthology in that many of us expect an anthology to be about disparate stories or changing characters where as in this one its about multiple short stories that follow the same characters in a chronological order. Sell the dead is very ghoulish and macabre that's done in a tight Halloween theme.

The connective tissue that holds the stories together is very well told and is well introduced and wrapped up whilst not overbearing between each story which is a well proven formula for anthologies and works well here. A priest records the stories of a condemned grave robber whom recounts a ghoulish series of intriguing supernatural events he has had over his life on the job. Simple.

There are great performances all round by some very well known faces which are a welcome sight for horror movie buffs and anthology lovers. Angus Scrimm (Phantasm) plays a ruthless mortician, Dominic Monaghan (Lost) and Larry Fessenden (Habit) are the foolish grave robbers, Ron Perlman and John Speredakos are just brilliant in there roles too and there's more. Let's just say there isn't a dole moment.

Great scripting, acting, directing in a movie that feels like it has high production values. I thought that whole movie experience felt uniform and perfectly paced from beginning to end. It's highly recommend and a definite a must see for Horror/Comedy movie buffs.

Not bad but its no creepshow
27 November 2020
The best part of this movie was the time spent in the mortuary itself and fortunately a lot of the movie in the mortuary. I thought a lot of talent went into this horror anthology and that the only bad part was just one of the stories. But the majority of them were fun and enjoyable.

All in all, a well cast and directed movie with great lighting and sound. A genuinely well made movie.

Started poorly, never got off the ground.
25 November 2020
Terrible, embarrassing just watching it. This is the kind of horror movie I really hoped no one would ever make. The B Grade train left an hour ago, not even sure what to call this. It has nothing, its the tripe someone might come up with just to squeeze through some crappy course in film making. Suitable maybe under those circumstances but not something I would ever imagine getting published.

It's true there are worse movies than this out there, to be sure. However, there is no reason to rate this movie on any credit that it does not bare in its own right and I just can't find any to give it. I totally admit to forwarding through large sections at a time simply because it was that unbearable to watch from one minute to the next. Seriously bad, serious. 2 thumbs down.

Decent folky adventure in American wilderness
21 November 2020
It was good to see Chief Dan George again after his amusing performance in Little Big Man. I remembered Jan-Michael Vincent from xtro 2 and felt like I had seen Marilyn Hassett before but after going through her imdb profile I couldn't put my finger on where. All in all, a fun cast and good movie.

Shadow had that daytime tv movie vibe going all the way through it with a nice 70's score. Some of that old zoomy directing style and a nice special effect where a car crashes into an invisible wall. Pretty neat.

The movie progresses at a pace that is typical for its vintage. Starting off with the group establishing itself in the city in a kind of haphazard way then a car trip out of town where the forces of evil let themselves known by driving around in an old Dodge Mayfair with black tinted windows, creepy af. Being a horror movie buff I can easily appreciate the effort here. Then we get to a bit of action with some old school reservation fights between the forces of good and bad. I had to laugh at the person dressed up in a bear costume but its all good.

Needless to say, an enjoyable movie without much in the way of excessive violence or gore. I can't even remember any blood actually. Watchable anytime and pretty much with anyone. Better than expected.

Over-rated, over-simplified and very plain
21 November 2020
I thought the script it's self was too plain, there was nothing at all intelligent in it. The acting was most just some pained looks of some peoples faces while running about without a clue what to do. I couldn't blame them for the decisions that they were making but it would have been nice to have seen them make one interesting choice.

It fell well below expectation for me main due to the fact that even though I knew there probably wouldn't be much in the way of neat special fx, it was more that what fx there were were not that good. And the fact there wasn't enough dialog. If you are not going to have one you should at least have some of the other. Instead we spend too much time looking at people sitting in their car with the occasional jump out of the car, get into the car, jump out of the car, get into the car. And on the movie goes.

This is without a doubt THE most over rated movie of 2020!

Very little entertainment in this title
19 November 2020
May have past if it were a episode in your favorite tv show but as a movie I found it lack luster. Thommy was good as usual and if it wasn't for him it would not even be worth watching. The dialog was full of corny one liners but what really hurt the movie was the very ordinary first half where almost nothing happens at all. Once the action picks up toward the end its not bad but a little bit of nudity would have gone a long way. Shame it had to be so family friendly.

Amazing show
14 November 2020
We had some great shows to watch growing up and this was one of them. It just got crazier and crazier as it went on watching the characters evolve new abilities. It was sad when it ended but it may have been for the best, I'll never know I guess. What I do know is that I will always have fond memories of it, its writing, music and adventures. For the record I noticed that Mieko Takamine has not been given credit here for acting as Budda.

Extrordinarily ordinary
10 November 2020
Lool what a terrible movie, hahaha. Ok, watch out guys I'm going in *starts movie*. Ah, if they keep making movies like this I might become terrified of what a horrible experience it is to watch this sort of tripe. Again, very low production values and lame fx. It works like this, guy standing in the dark so everyone screams and runs for the door. Add in some obnoxious characters and truly cringe worthy moments in directing and acting and you on par to making an ideal sequel to Hell House LLC.

Look out, the door is open. Ahhhhhhh. Welcome to the modern age of classic B movie's.

Over-rated but not bad
10 November 2020
By today's standard in horror movies I should probably be rating this a 10 so I understand why it has been rated so highly by so many people. Hell House LLC is a typical found footage horror with a lot of over the top camera shaking and annoyingly weak characters.

It follows the usual head job in these types of movies where the boss dude never is exposed to the bad juju going on through out the movie only the weak are. Which wears thin pretty quickly. There is very little to no musical score through out which really cuts down on its production value. It's primarily jump scares and a few sound effects.

The characters really needed a little more omph, you just can not get behind the weak people in these types of movies. Like watching some dope hide under his bed sheets when someone is in his bedroom just made me literally lol in a most sarcastic way. There were too many moments like this in the movie. Anyhow, I'll add it to the list of mediocre modern horrors.

Somewhat weird but kind of ordinary movie
24 October 2020
The soundtrack and directing seem to make this movie what it is, there isn't much too it other than its 'no reason' theme that it carries all the way through to the end. Strangely though, and this is the weird bit and that is that its watchable for the most part. I didn't dislike the movie nor did I like it, the movie just sits on the fence falling neither way. I guess it deserves the 'not bad, not good' rating which is what I am giving it for no particular reason other than that. So there it is, Rubber.

Another fantastic movie in the series
23 October 2020
Like many reviewers here who have provided favorable scores on this movie I have seen all of the Tremors to date including the tv series. I have to say that I am feeling a little spoiled that they invested so much of their time and money giving us fans this much to enjoy. It is a very high quality and well made movie.

Tremors: Shrieker Island is worth picking up and seeing even if its your first one to watch. It's great characters, acting, scenery, story and everything else makes it one of the best Tremors imo. I loved every minute of it, awesome, great!

The music kills it!
16 October 2020
This is a really ground breaking theme in horror without relying on external factors. The acting is spot on or it could have been better however the music keeps the game alive.

Just listen too it and enjoy the trip there is little else to say. Like Hellraiser without Christopher Young this movie would be nothing without Claudio Simonetti! Enjoy the awesomeness of this man's talent. You just don't get this on display today like you did back then. Praise the Musician.

A superior sequel
15 October 2020
I prefer Dr. Phibes Rises again simply because it cuts to the chase and gets the viewer involved in the mystery. I thought The Abominable Dr. Phibes very slow to get to the point. As such, Rises Again is technically a superior film to the first unless you like fall asleep watching your movies.

Slow but good.
8 October 2020
I have to admit it got a bit tired of the slow progress of this one even though it has good acting all round. It just felt empty, a painfully slow revenge story that could easily have been portrayed probably more entertainingly in a short 45 minute or so tv length episode.

Waiting 1hr for a warlock to gain possession of his ancestor so he can cross off some names on a list but not using magic or anything like that just ordinary throwing of matches and the likes. Very ordinary.

I can understand the appeal of a movie like this to the masses, it has a pleasant Gothic vibe, the damsel in distress, the village mob, etc etc. Basically it's a movie length twilight zone episode. I wouldn't say it was Price's best performance but he was very good as was everyone else.

Once the music starts to pickup towards the end it starts to feel like a real horror, just a pity it takes a good 75 minutes. Someone wake up the conductor next time.

Marks the end 60's horror.
7 October 2020
I don't know of that many time traveling horror movies like this from around it's time so the script was a bit daring. The acting is pretty normal for its time and once it gets going I found it pickings up. The acting and creative directing reminded me a lot of The Evil Dead (1981) actually so there's really little to complain about.

The excessive use of painful and distracting synth sounds and uneven volume through out the movie would have to be the low points. Apart from the underwhelming and substandard sound work on the movie I found it easy to follow, a little over-acted at the start but it unraveled consistently and was easy to follow. Definitely under-rated but it doesn't fall into the gem in the rough category, well not a highly valuable gem anyhow. It's okay, just don't expect The Exorcist.

I found it a little sad in way, as this movie to me depicts an end to a great era.
