Superb Movie! Great thriller! Don't believe these people!
12 March 2023
I'm not surprised with all the negative reviews. Are people being distracted while watching this movie? I saw it on headphones at home and wow! Just a thrill of a crazy ride with Anthony Serkis leading the way. Idris Elba is superb in this one.

Don't believe the haters. It's obvious they're either insane or just not a real movie lover, such as myself. I've heard some comments saying it was boring, lacking suspense, un-original. Weak villian? What movie did you all see?

Anyways, it kept me going all the way through til the end. The Picadilly Circus scene was awesome, as was the snowy mountain scene.

The Quarry (2020)
Amazing and Superb movie!
18 June 2020
Shea Wigham's best role I think. I saw him first in True Detective and thought he was amazing, nothing short of tour de force! I think he also played a preacher in that one too. He just gets better and better. Michael Shannon is another tour de force type of actor. He's great as the sheriff. He can play any character and he's just a natural, I love his movies. The movie shifts into high gear and when it was over, I kept thinking "This style of movie mystery is like an old fashioned killer movie from the old days." It's just plain good and intriguing til the last minute. I absolutely loved the storyline, script, the acting was superb, especially Shea Wigham. His best acting performance I think. It had to have been someone with style and class bcz he took over a preacher's identity and preached to the parishioners. Simply amazing. The ending was intense as well. Do not miss it, take look at Shea Wighams performance. He might deserve an Oscar for this one, I'm not sure. He definitely nailed his character down amazingly.

Madonna Ruined it For Me
16 February 2020
I couldn't watch it as soon as Madonna came on. She ruined that James Bond movie she was in and she only had like a 3 minute part. She just cheapens everything and I cannot take her seriously, I won't watch anything she is in. That whole witch scene was just insane and ridiculous. Anyone else besides Madonna would have been tolerable but to see her, ugh ugh. Sorry.

Could Not Watch This Movie
27 December 2019
I watched about an hour of it then just shut it off. After watching some really intense movies like "Uncut Gems," "Good Time," and "The Informer," it's hard to watch movies such as "Last Seen in Idaho." I was waiting for some type of action, that's what this movie is labeled as but there was nothing going on in terms of action. Nuff said. Maybe to some people it's a kick ass movie but to myself, I couldn't take it.

Superb film making, Superb Film
24 December 2019
Although I didn't agree with the main character not wanting to sign this paper to be released from Nazi prison, I thought the film was outstanding nonetheless.

First the director really put the camera person to work and it worked out just awesome. Being a photographer myself, I love off centered subjects. My subject doesn't have to be right in the center of my photos and some shots were filmed in that style as well. When you see the Nazi guard yelling, there was just music so not only could you not hear the guard screaming but he was a little off to the very right of the shot. I noticed that a lot. I loved the music playing when there was no other sound to some scenes. I also love wide open shots and the mountains and green pasture scenes were magnificent, plus lovely music in the background? Wow, that was mind blowing. I didn't care if it was 3 hours long bcz I was digging the photography and very little dialogue.

I am so glad the director Terence Malick spared any death camp scenes, the film was perfect without the blood and cruelty. The scenes were carefully filmed to depict life in the 40's and the beautiful old buildings, even in the downtown of cities was very realistic.

The main character was a Nazi conscientious objector who could easily signed a document which could have freed him. I personally did not agree with the film and main character but the beautiful poetic reasoning being narrated quickly convinces you and you get to see it through his eyes.

I highly recommend this film, even though it's long, the beautiful photography, narration and portrayal of life in the Austrian mountainside made this film an instant classic.

Boring as hell
3 September 2019
If you're going to make a bloody movie about Beatles songs, put a song in every scene. The entire middle part put me to sleep. Actually it uplifted me at first and I was laughing and laughing til after about 30 minutes. It seems that the director didn't know how to keep the excitement level up. It was boring as hell and I never want to see it again. Anyone who says it was good throughout the entire movie is nuts. They're just trying to be nice.

Not Bad Mr. Banderas
19 August 2017
Banderas will most likely not win an Oscar for this movie but who cares? He's definitely really good in this film. The plot, acting, scenes are well put together and it really does keep you going, there's never a dull scene. I love Ben Kingsley and this keeps his Sexy Beast attitude in this one, which I love. I hope Banderas will make more films period, in any genre. He's got a certain look and feel of a very determined person and it's wonderful to see him act.

What a superb cast! They were all good!!!
1 September 2013
I rated it so high people, I know, let me explain. I thought the movie followed a format, such as when one scene starts, it just keeps going and going.... In order of the best acting performances: #1 Matt Dillon, then Brandon Fraser, Paul Walker (different acting style for him),Vincent Denofrio, Elijah Wood (he loves those eerie roles, such as w/ Sin City he was evil), Thomas Cage (a hero in this movie), Kevin Ranklin, Ashley Simpson (I knew it was her when I 1st saw her!). One of the best and refreshing movies I've seen in a long time. This is just one pure high energy ride bcz of the actors just really got into their roles. WHoever picked this cast was an expert, this is a huge monumental achievement, in my opin. It has an intense script, drugs, violence, shootings, every scene is packed with superb actors with a plan of action. I'd like to hear what Quentin T has to say about this movie.
