Punjab Nahi Jaungi (2017)
Best movie of the Renaissance of Pakistani Cinema.
Nadeem baig and Khalilul Rehman's combo has given us the masterpiece of entertainment.
Jai Ho (2014)
Help 3 People:Best Salman Khan Movie.
Well! from a Salman khan movie, one can't except much because all of his movies result into another bollywood crap and in comparison of his movies one is more awful and pathetic from the other. But surprisingly this time he comes with a massage. Though this movie contains also the usual bollywood idiocies but the reason I'm rating it so high is it's massage:help someone and when he or she will thank you, instead of accepting his or her thanks ask him or her to help another 3 persons. This will result into a chain and massage will prevail, hence truth, virtue and goodness will spread with multiple effect.
As always Salman Khan's acting is awful. But somehow he is charismatic and has huge fan following. That's why his movies work.
Watch it only for the massage.
Dedh Ishqiya (2014)
Classical Experience; Great Acting.
After crap works like Dhoom3 and other bollywood movies, finally a standard work and demonstration of art couple with entertainment comes into the market. It was a sheer classical cinematic experience. You ll find only few boring moment. Madhuri has given fantastic acting which was her trademark but was unfortunately either missing or was not attractive enough to fascinate the audiences. But this time she's simply worth watching.
Naseeruddin Shah no doubt is one of the greatest actors of Bollywood, knows how to act at different times. His Expressions are priceless.
Arshad warsi is an other great actor in his style. and he does justice with the character.
Huma Qureshi is stunning and acting wise I can say only "what a actress she is! simply she would even inject spirit in spiritless character.
Story is tight, unpredictable and with minimum lope holes.
In short this classical entertainment must not be missed.
Dhoom without "dhoom". Terrible, dead, weakest Aamir khan movie.
You know what a Rakshaw can bulldoze a huge wall and at the same time it can run on the roofs of houses. A bike can be driven on thin strings in an action scenes and a bike can simply be transformer: it can transform into any form it can be a boat a car. I was wondering why it didn't fly. Anyways, I wasn't expecting it from an Aamir khan's movie. Aamir khan is a brand and by this movie he surely has injured his reputation of giving quality work. The only good in the film is a couple of songs like malang and kamli, although only Katrina kaif even in them and that's why I have given 1 star to it.
First time I felt that Aamir khan can't act. only in the second half, he displayed his skill otherwise it was simply miserable.
overall the movie is simply the big disappointment.flop. another bollywood crap.
Mickey Virus (2013)
I hesitantly downloaded the movie from a torrent site assuming that it would be the same typical bollywood movie with similar lines and farce illogical love stories. But to my astonishment, it was not like that. The movie shows that bollywood has still some gems of creative work. From the very outset the story of the movie is not predictable as is habitual in contemporary bollywood movies. And this fashion advances till end.Story is revealed timely and slowly in the manner that you ll find no boredom till the end. TV anchor and débutant Manish paul has done a superb job and he has done justice with the role. Expressions are touchy and natural. Elli Avarm has brief role in the movie though, but she is charming and beautiful. Her figure is sexy but contrary she has no acting skills. But in Bollywood one actress can survive with this kind of show of body only, for, in Bollywood for a women body counts more than acting and hence she's good in that.
Overall it's a good movie and recommended.
Gori Tere Pyaar Mein! (2013)
Light Love Story
Like history, contemporary Bollywood is passing through the era of usual or you can call it typical Bollywood masala movies' era where there will be no logic or any special thing. Hero would beat even 1000 enemies fighting with swords, heavy clubs and other crap stuff like this. These days very seldom one would find use of modern weapons in Indian movies during action. I don't know what is reason for it. Perhaps they have smuggled all of their arms to Pakistan to spread terror there. Anyways in this era of crap movies here comes a light entertainment. Not as much as one would expect from dharma productions but still it would provide you with some fresh air. Acting wise Imran khan is superb in his acting and expressions. Kareena kapoor is beautiful and charming and Anupam kher is a savior as always.
On the whole it is a light love story that can make your world of depression and noise light and peaceful. Recommended.
WAAR= Magnum Opus
It is batter than we have excepted. If you are living in Pakistan, for more than two hour you'll feel as you are just wandering and passing through the contemporary affairs hovering around us; the story which even a child in the country would tell you, the legacy of our neighbor's atrocities and intrigues.
Cinematography: Let me tell you. While watching the movie you'd never realize that you are watching a traditional Pakistani movie having many load noisy dialogs and ludicrous acting. This one is magnum opus.Batter than any Bollywood flick and even has transgressed and surpassed many Hollywood movies technically.
Action and Acting both are outstanding. Especially Shamoon, he's star. what a villainy expression he has expressed here.
On the whole, this piece is what is called a cinematic magnum opus. If not for the world,is for Pakistan at least. A must watch movie to extinguish confusion of all Pakistanis.
Phata Poster Nikhla Hero (2013)
A light entertainer
In the contemporary bollywood, there are three ways to make a movie hit: sex, cast or making a masala flick. This movie has last two alluded elements. It is funny and emotional. As is being said that it is a tribute to two of bollywood's blockbusters DON and MUNNA BHAI M.B.B.S, you'll find half of the half part and half of the last part of the movie as intermingling of said movies. You'll also find that as in funny movies of Rajkumar Santoshi the element of comic fighting is prevalent through out the movie. Story: As I told that this story is intermixing of two movies. Despite of copying, film has got some genuine ideas and stuff. 5/10 I will award to the story.
Acting: Shahid kapoor has once again proved that no doubt he's a verstile actor and can justify every role given to him. Funny expressions can make you laugh even you may fall from your seats and said expressions can make you cry. I'll give 8/10 to the acting.
Main Hoon Shahid Afridi (2013)
Pakistani Cinema is Reviving.
Bearing in mind the bash of a premiere yesterday, think of the cameos as family-support for Mr. Saeedand Shahzad Nasib's sure fire blockbuster; And, in case anyone forgets about either their or ARY Films' – who distributes the movie along with Mandviwalla Entertainment – place in the industry, this is one extended family.
The love part from the industry is infectious, but it never seeps into the feature film; at least not directly. Mr. Saeed plays Akbar Deen, a pro-cricketer who's the pride-and-joy of his family that includes a mom, a pop (Mr. Baig), a wife (Mahnoor Baloch) and son. Akbar gets implicated with illegal drugs after he gets drunk by an orange juice drink and a (quite revealing) dance item by Mathira (the song is Masti Main Doobi by Neeti Wagh and Shani). It is – quite literally – a flash, which dumps Akbar in a jail cell and bats his career out of the cricket grounds.
Years later, Shahid (Noman Habib), an on-the-breadline prodigy youngster from Sialkot who works the cash register in a local restaurant, pushes the owner of his local cricket club (Ismail Tara, playing Malick Khalid) to try the team for a Pepsi-sponsored tournament. A few beats later, and rather vapidly, Akbar signs up as the team's coach.
Their rivals, silver spoons who reach the cricketing grounds by choppers, are employed by Mian Asif Qureishi (Mr. Sheikh senior), and includes Mikaal Qureishi (Shahzad Sheikh), Akbar's son.
For those of us who are still biased to put MHSA along Chak De India, I have one thing to say: please don't.
Mr. Saeed's film written by Vasay Chaudhary, working from a scarred- underdog/least bet-team that wins the cup formula, devises enough deviations in its revved up pace to make the distinctions obvious. A few unresolved angles (the husband-wife split-up; the rich father-in-law vs. the cricketer son-in-law) do dig ruts within MHSA's narrative. Nevertheless these are just minor botches that are easily swept under the rug by the speed of MHSA's execution.
As performances go, I have a sincere advice for Mr. Saeed: stop acting for the small-screen.
Mr. Saeed, who mostly equips his acting arsenal with scowls and growls and a tear drop or two, kicks in some class nuances in unexpected nooks and crannies. And with 70% (maybe more) screen-time to his Akbar, Mr. Saeed becomes a central point of weight for MSHA.
Noman Habib, as the engaging rural Shahid Afridi, piles on the innocence, but more often than not his naiveté and unsophistication (acting wise) becomes rather apparent.Ms. Baloch is plastic, and like the most expensive kind is (unblinkingly) fixed in place. Ainy Jaffri, the big city girl with big,big eyes, who falls for Shahid is flimsy, because of the way she's placed in the film – rather like Asym Mehmood, Ainan Arif and Gohar Rasheed, who are fairly good to average depending on the scale and cliché of their exposure.
Mr. Arif plays Michael Magnet, a Christian who makes way for some minor obligatory racial biasness.Like every conflict, the resolution is nippy if not shrewd (case in point: the estranged father-son dilemma between Mr. Baig and Mr. Saeed, which piles up, only to open a separate narrative track). Sometimes – for example, the climax and the cricket matches – the hastiness works against the anticipation.
Still, for a bulk of its entirety, MHSA swaps between characters one ends up rooting for: the roll-call includes Majeed Maulvi, the slightly racist, short-tempered Pathan played by Humza Ali Abbasi, Mr. Sheikh's stereotypical villain Asif Qureishi and Mr. Cheema's brilliantly played Bashir Bhatti, a worthless, gambling self-indulgent father to Shahid. The only other actor who stands up to Mr. Cheema's vivid charisma and dexterity is Mr. Tara, whose presence even dominates Mr. Saeed in some scenes.
MHSA isn't unblemished as far as technicality is concerned. A few issues with color grading (sometimes apparent within cuts in a continuous location), camera/resolution/sharpness issues in cricket matches (and no, we aren't fooled into thinking we're seeing a televised broadcast) pop up and fade away, oft times by the sheer aesthetic diligence of putting on the show. This aesthetic diligence includes three groovy songs by composers Shani & Kami – Jera Vee (Shafqat Amanat Ali, Shani), Angreja (Momin Durrani, Jabar Abbas) and Masti Mai Doobi; Malaal, the fourth song sung by Rahat Fateh Ali, is an adequate space filler.
Syed Ali Raza (aka Usama), coming from a television background, is proficient in setting up cinema-quality frames with a dastardly penchant to throw the BG out of focus in close-ups. He is also quite practiced in executing film-level performances from a bulk of his cast (of course, the expanded gamut and resolution of the RED camera helps here).
The problem with the industry is that no one wants to appreciate a good mainstream family movie – especially from people within the film fraternity. I could hear murmurs about art and intelligence, as soon as I ventured outside the screening. For these self-made connoisseurs of the medium, I only point to the deafening applause the film collected two or three times.
A film that looks good, keeps you engaged, lets you unwind and then coerces (some if not all) to wild-cheering is a product well-made – and as the tickets will tell – well-sold.
Chennai Express (2013)
Fabulous Love Journey.
Love has no language; it uses the language of emotions, the language of heart to communicate; it is not necessary that you are a powerful; but you need to be good; respect your blood relations,if they are not worthy for you now, you'll surely know their worth when you'll not find them around; and finally, don't understand the power of a common person, for, he can do the things no distinguished person can do. These are some significant massages illustrated by this Love story told us by Rohit shetty and unanimously his best work so far.
As the journey will proceed you'll begin to fall into love with Chennai Express and till climax you'd so encompassed by the Express that you'll not desire to get down. Picturesque scenery, vicissitudous emotions, funny expressions would have made you their fan already. Grasping cinematography and clutching direction will not let you bored even for a moment. Eventually you'll fly with the speed of CHENNAI EXPRESS.
Shahrukh khan once again has proved his reign of acting over the land of India. He is undoubtedly the king of acting. Where ever in any field of acting,he puts his hands, he simply conquers it whether it may be romance or comedy. His expressions make you laugh as well as cry simultaneously.
Depika is superstar after this movie. If you'd been not a fan of Depika, from now, you'll fall into love with her. Chennai Express is lifeless without this beautiful lady. Her acting skills are touching the zenith and for 2 hours she'll appear as the goddess of acting for you.
At length, SRK fans, it's time for you to party. cheer up. Chennai Express is Blockbuster written all over.
Teen age is a mysterious age.
Teenage and especially 16 is a mysterious age in which not all parents able to understand there children. Hence children adopt various ways to fulfill their foibles and absurdities. This is the main theme of story. When watching the movie most of people would realize as it is their story. Although there are some loophole in the cinematography as well as in the story telling and somewhere in the center audience even get bore and realize that story could be trimmed and made short-length should be around 1:40 mins- but at the climax and end you find it pretty sound movie. Acting wise all the cast performs a superb job which attract the people to watch the movie. I would recommend to the parents to watch this movie for the sake of your teenage children.
