Great, but has some flaws
16 June 2023
A movie that appeals to a much older crowd rather than a young crowd. Its got a much darker tone than I anticipated especially after you start seeing the characters in their real life role but going through some extremely troubled thoughts and feelings when recollecting their fantasies. The character with the mask, although anti-religious, came across as aggressively preachy. I understood his message and the depth of pain he felt but his anger and rage came off too strong that he detached most of his audience. Everyone knows that when one comes across a zealot, ears tend to turn off. He was my least favorite character. The other 3 were great.

Not as good as the dark knight
18 October 2022
This movie was more like a pg movie then an R. It wasn't disturbing at all as many of these commenters suggest. But who am I kidding, they've probably never done bdsm and are conservative to the core zzzz. It needed to amp up the tortures before receiving an R rating. I was bored throughout the whole film. Could have been better. The visuals were terrible and fell more into the Bollywood movies. The concept wasn't original, it's the same boring Hollywood drivel in order to make more money but not entertain the audience. If they made this into an NC-17 then it might have qualified as an R. Too many highly sensitive folks makes movie watching worse and worse every year.

Thank you for the low reviews prior to me seeing this
24 December 2021
It helped me set a low bar and mediocre expectations for this movie... so after I saw it and was both thrilled and inspired by its raw and deeper and practical message... I had no option but to give it a 10! So thank you.

Surprised

Every movie with Jason I've loved. But everything was so flat with his character and script I think my own heart temporarily flatlined during the show. There was no flavor. I ended up being bored and waited for the movie to be over. I don't recall the last time I felt that way about a movie. There was nothing that wanted me to like him or feel for him. He's a father and husband, but he felt cold even towards his own family. There wasn't enough development between him and his family to care. So you never become engaged in his character. I actually saw him as the actual bad guy. How does that even happen?

DC is intentionally losing its fan base
27 December 2020
This was so bad I had to go watch Thor ragnorok just to reclaim my dignity. Its as if DC wants to fail and move us over to marvel. This was perhaps the lowest quality movie ever made by dc. They used the brand as a cash grab and nothing more. They were so embarrassed by it they skipped the theaters and put it on HBO. Clearly.

A movie from the future that present audiences cannot yet enjoy
5 December 2020
Chris and I are on the same wavelength. His personal struggle with understanding life is in all these movies he makes and each one is a masterpiece in its own way. He immortalizes concepts lost in time. Thank you Chris for shedding a little bit of light in a darkened world.

Thanos forgot a second snap for Captain Marvel

This movie was pointless and she's pointless in Endgame. So why exactly did we make this movie again?

Pay attention to the name of the reviewer and the hype in their title... it's a newly created bot to offset the negative feedback
10 May 2019
The title says it all. I came to watch it for nostalgia purposes. Huge huge fan of the Pokémon franchise but boy was I sorely disappointed in the main character. He gave a B or a C performance. There were too many times I was kicked out of the movie mentally. The interaction Tim has with the girl and pikachu were a bit on the cringeworthy side. On a positive note the story line was good with a nice twist at the end and the Pokémon looked actually pretty cool. Mewtwo was a bit on the fluffy and cute side so prepare to be disappointed if you came to watch this for the nostalgia purposes.

First time seeing a Chinese movie with English subtitles
8 May 2019
Tbh frank. I was actually very moved by the film. Sure it was teenagers acting for the most part. Sure the plot seems to be an impractical impossibility. Sure the main actor had a huge ego and his sister seemed to cry a little too much. But in the end, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I felt in this movie. I'm a stone cold Russian so nothing rarely moves me, but this movie did just that. A well deserved 8/10 from me.

The Worst of all MCU films making even DC Shine
26 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
* Why buildup Thor only to tear him to shreds in Endgame? You literally destroyed his brand. * How was Captain Marvel able to locate the ship Tony Stark was on at the beginning of the film? * Why use "Quantum Realm" when the majority of the audience will get confused and lost in it? * Why did Captain Marvel say she was going to fight Thanos solo when she, Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man couldn't even take him down without a use of a gauntlet? Is she really that arrogant? * Why was Thanos awesome in the first movie, but became a generic villain in Endgame? * Why did the writers do an awesome job on the infinity war, but fall hard in Endgame? Did someone just tell them, "let's put all the jokes and scenes you guys want and hopefully it makes sense." Because that's exactly what it felt like. * Why doesn't doing anything in the past affect the future? It felt so cringeworthy seeing interactions in previous movies that weren't meant to happen. * Why has Thor become Batman of the DC universe? Do directors and producers LOVE destroying characters that we love? Seems like it. * Thor's mother didn't need to be "trained by witches" to know that her son Thor was different from her son she saw only moments earlier. So why even bring that up? * Did everyone who "died" in infinity war go to a special spirit world of wakanda and just remain there till 5 years later according to spider-man? * Why couldn't have anyone simply put on the gauntlet and wiped out Thanoses army? And why didn't Thanos destroy everybody who was a threat to him in infinity war? * Why did a rat start Endgame by returning ant-man? That seems awfully convenient doesn't it? * How can Captain America pick up Thor's hammer and even use lightning when he couldn't pick it up in the first avengers movie? * Where was Captain Marvel most of the movie? Was she vacationing? * Why was the first hour so slow, The second hour and a half talking about quantum physics that no one understands, and the last 30 minutes of the film fighting when anyone could have simply worn the glove and wiped out thanoses army? * How did Scarlett Witch seemingly become more powerful than even Captain Marvel? * Why didn't anyone save Black Widow when everything else can be done with convenience? Did no one just not want to save her because there was no purpose and it just gave them rage to fight?

There's a hundred more questions I want to ask, but these are just some of the main ones.

Waste of time!
11 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In the end she only killed 1 person. Not 22. She developed a second personality when she was 3 thanks to her uncles sexual abuse. This caused a domino affect that led her to murder 1 guy seeking sex on Craigslist. She felt that by murdering and confessing she could keep everyone else safe from her thoughts of wanting to murder everyone.

I had low expectations coming in. I was distraught by how right I was. I want you to see it just so you can see how IMDB is paid off. BIG TIME.

Worth Every Star!
14 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I'm Russian and this is a breath of fresh air compared to your typical Russia (Bad guys) and America (Good guys). Combined with Gerard Butler this instantly pulled at heart strings from all directions. Perhaps I'm slightly biased in my rating because of my past. If that is the case let me have this one. Go enjoy it and I think you'll be surprised how much you love it.

Overlord (2018)

The preview looked promising but the movie itself felt flat with a huge thud
14 November 2018
The character is dull and doesn't want to hurt a fly even though it's a war movie. He was easily the worst part of the movie and was hard to engage in the film all because of him. His team is hysterically 2-dimensional and comedic during intense moments asking yourself if this is a comedy or a war movie. There were parts that left me squirmish because of intended rape. But probably the worst combo came from a dull movie with plenty of jump scares. No build up just jump scares out of the blue. Of course the movie often relied on the stupidity of characters to make the plot moving forward. I get that corporations are trying to recruit for their privitized armies and all but they went a little to hard on "you can be the insignificant guy and still be a hero." How cute.

10,000 BC Was much Better
27 August 2018
In summary this is a mellenial in the wrong era. Any mellenial born in the ice age would not survive. So if you go in throw your common sense out the window or you'll instantly give it a 1. The panoramic scenes though were amazing and cross border magnificent. Just not enough to warrant a movie a 5 or above.

Let's face it, the "10's" are bots or the actors themselves
26 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Their was definitely teen drama and it came across as annoying than believable. Even the chick compares the hero to a boy she hates. So you don't feel any connection whatsoever between the two for the remainder of the movie. That's cause he ruins it with boyish anger. The dog, don't get attached to it (which shouldn't be too hard considered his mouth sounds like a meat grinder everytime it opens its mouth) because the ex boyfriend takes a torch to it and fries it to a crisp. The main actor was a loser at the beginning of the movie with a "poor me" attitude and it doesn't change for the rest of the film. (Typically they're someone that's overcome a challenge and you're happy with him/her, *spoiler alert* not in this movie so you won't be getting any satisfaction here.) He acts humble for the first half because his mom died a year ago and the rest of the latter half he's just bitter and angry which turns the girl away. If you're 12 you might like this movie. If you're any older you'll just end up rolling your eyes. Had about 15 people in the theater and none of them seemed to like it. They're faces just said, "what did I just watch?" Towards the end of the movie, instead of the main character (Miles) giving back the dog to US Government like he was supposed to he'd rather see it self-destruct and in turn get a college tuition paid for. (Has he never heard of a grant?) Probably the most anti-climactic movie of the decade. I'm an optimist. I wanted to like it, but the movie kept throwing one bad dialogue after another. If for any reason you do decide to go see it (personally there's so many movies out right now that are good... (MoviePass here)) leave your common sense at the door when you walk in. Peace. Had I paid a $1 for it I would have been upset.

This score is meant for the Movie Industry as a whole
12 August 2018
The producer hated it. The actors hated it. It doesn't know whether it's a comedy or a serious film. So many one liners absolutely killed the atmosphere that made me constantly realize I was watching a movie. In summary this is nothing but another sharknado movie with a slightly larger budget. Let the producer do their thing and don't touch it. It's why movies like Deadpool are so great! When they first announced this movie was called the meg I chuckled. It reminded me of family guy. But even she becomes a star compared to this.

I am so glad I watched this movie on my firestick
5 August 2018
The previous movie was easily an 8. But this movie a huge step back in the wrong direction. The writing was the worst I have ever seen it. The acting was mediocre. Only one character stood out the rest were bleh with either too much screaming or too much open mouth acting. You can tell this movie was purely for profit and nothing more. It shows BIG TIME. This is why more and more people are gonna get a firestick and watch movies illegally is because of filth like this.

The bias is unreal... STOP scoring based on biases and comparisons
11 July 2018
For me this movie was gripping and well executed and told. With what they had to work with a 10 is well deserved. I've lately seen movies with A-List actors that are unbearable and cringeworthy. I understand those who are biased give these movies a 10. But I'm gonna do me and bring back traditions that I first fell in love with.

Hollywood just pushing their agenda. Good job hollywood. Way to reduce comedy to a preachy sermon. Thank heavens I didn't pay for this garbage. This is why America has resorted to fire sticks.

I chuckled... one time in this movie. The rest was utter trash and cringeworthy. It pushed hardcore agenda left and right and more preachy than a hypocritical pastor. I've seen some bad movies but this one easily takes the cake and I know I'm not alone as further comments imply. Even if you're bored to death do yourself a favor and watch suicide squad. That movie will be an instant 10 after seeing this movie.
