Daisy Jones & The Six (2023)
So superficial...And boring
So much of this was uninteresting. They go into incredible depth in Simone's story (I fast-forwarded through much of it), but never really went into any depth with the relationships between the other characters.
The only thing I could see that Billy and Daisy had in common was a tendency toward self-destruction. There was no real chemistry between the two. Sam Claflin looks at least 10 years older than Riley Keogh - that buccal fat surgery he had at some point didn't do him any favors.
Everyone seems so enamored by this series, and I just don't get it. The music isn't even good - way too pop, and only a cursory nod to punk that didn't really make any sense because its effect wasn't carried forward in the plot. The only good music was the intro - Patti Smith's Dancing Barefoot.
So sad. I had to watch "Sid and Nancy" as a palate cleanser.
I Hate Suzie (2020)
I can't get beyond the eyebrows
I tried, i really tried. But I was so distracted by those huge, dark eyebrows that I had to turn it off. Every facial expression, every action was marred.
The Gilded Age (2022)
Writing is terrible
At first I thought it was the acting that was bad, but it is the writing that is so terrible. What are supposed to be witticisms fall flat, the pace is incredibly slow when it doesn't have to be, and in the end it's just boring.
The L Word: Generation Q (2019)
Disappointing
I was a fan of the original show. This new show was disappointing, to say the least. It just doesn't work. Too much emphasis on the implausible running for mayor thing, some of the acting was terrible, and Finley is just annoying. And they are all rich, except for Finley. It just ring true to any of my life experience. And Bette was never one of my favorite characters, anyway.
Shane is, of course, still hot.
And why are all of them wearing too much makeup?
And where's the fun? And why is Leisha Hailey so skinny? She was so cute!
In all, it was a disjointed, boring-in-spots effort.
This ended as though a second season is coming, but I doubt I'll watch it, unless I'm desperate.
Love Hurts (1992)
I really don't understand why people like this...
It might have been fresh for the time, but it's old, tired and cliche'. I'm not going into any deep analysis of this series, because it's not even worth the time to write about this bilge.
