The Walking Dead: Slabtown (2014)
Season 5, Episode 4

Beths Fate revealed as The Walking Dead dips in form
3 November 2014
Slabtown was not an atrocious episode by any means. No. It was tense, well acted and fairly entertaining for 43 minutes. But on a whole, it was highly forgettable.

The entire Hospital set-up was done well, with the 'antagonists' wonderfully creepy, but quite predictable. Emily Kinney was surprisingly solid this episode, though she still cannot express herself as diligently as her co-stars. However, thankfully the show does not seem stale, as the cliffhanger ending further propelled the multiple plot-threads of the show, meaning NOTHING LIKE WOODBURY.

Overall, while predictable and pretty forgettable due to fairly simple character work, Slabtown is still at times riveting and focused, providing viewers with 43 minutes filled with blood and death. 7.4/10

Shocking and Riveting, The Walking Dead at its best
26 October 2014
Geez... That was quite a somber 43 minutes. But a compelling 43 minutes!

'Four Walls and a Roof' brilliantly ramps up the tension and sense of danger, building from the shocking conclusion to the previous episode. A real overarching vision for the direction of the show is established as well, as the show delved deeper into it's exploration of the theme of Morality. The acting was spot-on from everyone, especially Michael Cudlitz's Abraham, with some fiery character-driven tension making this episode utterly compelling and engrossing. Some nice cinematography as well enhanced the grittiness and visceral thrills. It's also, as the summary states, shocking, although perhaps not as much as fans of the comic would like, me included. A nice cliffhanger though, i will say that.

Overall, The Walking Dead season 5 so far has been absolutely mesmerizing Television, wit top-notch production values and a darker tone. And 'Four Walls and a Roof' pretty much contains it all. 9/10

The Walking Dead: Strangers (2014)
Season 5, Episode 2

In this form, season 5 could be a Winner!
20 October 2014
Normally, in a show like The Walking Dead, there is always a sort of reality check episode, usually being one that follows an absolutely amazing one. But Season 5 so far hasn't descended into the usual. No, 'Strangers' is a brilliant follow up to the awesome premier.

Now, 'Strangers' is much slower than the premier, but it's also a much more focused and concise episode, with an absolutely gut-churning cliffhanger that will excite the hell out of the comic book readers. A dark, intense atmosphere coupled with the solid progression of almost every character makes this episode quite engrossing.

Never has The Walking Dead raced out of the gates with this much polish and confidence. And thank God it is doing so, because if season 5 carries on this form, this could be the best season yet. 8.5/10

The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary (2014)

This is what I'm talking about!
13 October 2014
My God Wasn't this one hell of an intense start to season 5 of The Walking Dead. The episodes starts essentially straight after the end of season 4, continuing the shows rapid rise in form over its past 4 episodes.

What we experience in this episode is intense visceral action, directed by Greg Nicotero, that The Walking Dead does so darn well. We are also given a bit of history about Terminus itself which is nice. But my god the real star of this episode was Carol, played with conviction by Melissa McBride. She was an incredible presence throughout this gruelingly intense episode.

Overall, if this is what we can come to expect from season 5, then bring it on! My body is ready to weather the oncoming onslaught of blood and emotion. 9/10. P.S: Stay after the credits if you want to crap your pants with excitement! Trust me... It is worth the clean up.

Game of Thrones: The Watchers on the Wall (2014)

Now that's a battle!
9 June 2014
Over the past 3 seasons, the 9th episode of Game Of thrones has always delivered something tantalizing. Something grueling or heartbreaking or down-right epic. And 'The Watchers on the Wall', the 9th episode of Season 4 most certainly kept this tradition going, with an incredible episode.

From the start, the unshakable sense of dread makes you nervy, i mean really. This battle has been building up since the first season. And boy, it delivered. It was a mighty spectacle to behold. The action sequences were some of the best this show has ever had. The epic nature of this episode is unrelenting. It was at times powerful and heartbreaking at the same time. It really did deliver. Neil Marshall, who also made season 2's battle of Black-water showed us that he is the go to man for large scale chaos.

To put it simply, Season 4 of Game of Thrones has easily been the best season. And it's because of episodes like this. Transcending the boundaries of television to bring us quality like this. It is truly Unforgettable.

Game of Thrones: The Laws of Gods and Men (2014)

Season 4's Finest hour (so far)
12 May 2014
I have really enjoyed this season of Game of Thrones, more so than the previous 3. And it's because of episodes like this.

The Laws of Gods and Men has topped the previous episode as Season 4's Best so far. We get everything in this. Action, Blood, Brimming tension, BRAVOS and some powerful, heartbreaking character moments. The pacing of this episode was consistent, the multiple plots have surprisingly yet to fall flat, with the audience getting some more Reek, if a little too much for our tastes in a deliciously creepy scene.Oh, and i have found that Peter Dinklage's (Tyrion Lannister) performances have been a little too familiar in the past season and a half, but boy didn't he bring it all to the table here. It was a compelling and powerful performance by Dinklage that made the final 10 minutes of this episode some of the most satisfying of the series.

On a whole, this is Game of Thrones at it's best. Sharp Dialogue. Tense action sequences, Stunning Special effects (for a television production) and a powerful ending. A Masterclass. Peter Dinklage... WELCOME BACK!

A lot of fun, but Despicable Me 2 is no where near as good as the original
25 June 2013
My hopes were high for the sequel to the hilarious family film Despicable Me. However, they were not matched.

Despicable Me 2 has wonderful, vibrant, colourful animation, and the minions still keep is laughing but other then that, there really isn't anything memorable here. The story is weak. The humor is mainly aimed at little children, which is not necessarily a bad thing and it ends all too suddenly. Also, the love story between Gru and the special agent (Chill, i really haven't spoiled anything) feels forced.

All in all, Despicable Me 2 is an enjoyable Family film, but a poor sequel to the wonderful original Despicable Me.

Game of Thrones: Mhysa (2013)
Season 3, Episode 10

Solid Season Finale
10 June 2013
It would be a tough ask to expect episode 10, the final episode of season 3 of Game of Thrones, to match the quality that many of us witnessed with "The Red Wedding". However you will all be pleased to know, that Mhysa is a SATISFYING end to season 3 of Game of Thrones.

I will not spoil anything for those who read this, but i will say this: Questions are answered... and new questions have formed. Also, some characters were left without any type of conclusion for season 3. In saying that though, the finale sets up the 4th season of Game of Thrones brilliantly and will have fans eagerly waiting for the next season.

To sum it up, Myhsa is one of the better episodes of the series and satisfying conclusion to HBO's epic fantasy, even if it couldn't match the power and incredible scenes witnessed in "The Rains of Castamere"

Game of Thrones: The Rains of Castamere (2013)

The Rains of Castamere is the best episode of season 3, and perhaps of the series
3 June 2013
There is nothing that can prepare you for this latest episode of Game of Thrones. Even those who knew what was coming (which i didn't), will probably be shocked by this incredibly powerful gut wrenching episode.

Now, i'm not going to into what happened in depth. I just need to tell anyone who reads this. The Rains of Castemere is arguably the BEST EPISODE OF SEASON 3, and perhaps the best episode of the series. The performances, the writing, the screenplay, EVERYTHING about this episode was PERFECT. Michelle Fairley as Catelyn Stark and Maise Williams put in the best performances of the season. And the ending... So GUT-WRENCHING, HEART BREAKING, SHOCKING AND POWERFUL all at the same time. I'm telling you now, if you thought Game of Thrones was slipping into meritocracy, then this episode will BLOW YOUR MIND. It is UNFORGETTABLE.
