This had to be made to be able to move on
3 October 2021
Daniel Craig had said he didn't want to do another James Bond movie. But eventually with the script they convinced him and I think they did well by that.

Okay, there is a more emotional and personal story to this one. But is that a bad thing? To me, this movie that is over 160 minutes long didn't feel long at all. I loved the action, think some of the plots were well thought out, but it also had it's flaws. Some aspects were too thick on the nose (wrist, hand... etc), the humor was sometimes too forced, but sometimes it did work (I loved Paloma, and she was a great Bond Girl (Sorry Ana, but that term is a keeper, as it is one that should be an honor imo) and very bubbly, which was rather new). But the biggest flaw I think is the Americanization of the action shots. The way the ocean is on fire while the ship is sinking... that looked so extremely fake. Bond doesn't need that Hollywood sauce.

I think over all, this is a solid Bond movie, and if I had to rank the Craig ones then Casino Royale is my favorite, followed by Skyfall, and this one would come third. Then Spectre and I think people stating that this is the worst bond movie ever keep forgetting Quantem of Solace (even though I think there are even worse Bondmovies than that).

So don't overthink it, don't be all 'boohoo' about it not being a typical Bond movie. It was, it just opens a door to a new Bond (First like of the new movie: hey, you've changed a lot..... Yes, plastic surgery has come a long way... didn't Roger Moore do that already?) and they can now go into the direction of more old style Bond, and maybe do a 008 Nomi-spin-off.

As long as she will have lots of Bond Blokes (or whatever that should be called).

8 for effort.

Entertaining yes.... if you shut down your brain
18 November 2020
This movie had quite some potential. Yes the focus is on family drama and it has some exciting moments, but the further the story progressed, the more they let go of logic and common sense. A 7 year old kid who gets fractions at school and half of the time acts like an adult needs a carseat and doesn't know how to unbuckle a seatbelt? small airplane vs shockwave? driving away from a road and into the woods without knowing where you are or where to go? most of the plotlines were thought up for extra drama but didn't feel necessary or were too forced to feel natural. some of the actions were cringe worthy. The acting wasn't all that great.... so why 4 stars still? Because if you stop thinking about it, it's actually an ok movie and entertaining, but other than that.... it's just bad and a shame of potential.

The Witches (2020)

Anne Hathaway is not the only one killing this movie
28 October 2020
The Grand High Witch is killing it. but seriously, she's terrible. From the start on, with the weird Chris Rock voice-over, this remake goes wrong wherever it can wrong. The acting is stiff, the focus is hardly on all the other witches, the CGI is not good. Even the housekeeping cart seems to come from the CGI box. Positive thing: Octavia Spencer is doing her best to be a genuine grandmother, and she succeeds, but that's about it. OK, yes, I am a fan of the 1990 movie. Even though it wasn't as close to the original story, I really can't believe Roald Dahl would recognize his book in this mess. The first movie was gorgeous in it's authenticity. It has folklore, it has an edge, it has a heart. This is Hollywood factory work and seems to want to be much more than it can deliver. It made me miss much more than the purple glow in the witches eyes. It made me want to just throw up like a witch who smells children. I'm not saying you shouldn't watch it. I am sure that an entire generation who never grew up with the original will disagree, but to me, this is like cursing in a church. It's horrible.

Research much?
23 April 2020
So much is wrong with this movie, that I just tried to forget about everything and tried to enjoy it. For a second I thought I was watching a Cloverfield movie, but apparently it only has a few links to that franchise. IMO this is lazy filmmaking and wasted dollars. I only managed to finish it, knowing it was under 90 minutes without credits. If you wanna watch a movie, just go find something better than this. I'm gentle with the 3 stars I've given it.

Bombshell (I) (2019)

Mixed feelings, the intentions of the characters were off
12 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
First of all. This movie is about a subject that is very delicate and I think it's very good that a story like this one, so quick after the events is released. It shows the story of women being treated like objects and as a man I think we should learn from this. So bravo to that.

However, Besides the fact that the story was based on true events, but enhanced with fictional scenes, which the story in itself did not need, I was very confused at times. I think they wanted to portray Roger as a likable person at first. 'Trust nobody, because they can be a wolf in sheeps skin'. But for the first half, this made me feel that Gretchen only came out because she didn't get what she wanted. And that's where I have a problem with this movie. The second half is all about getting the truth out, getting heard, making a point and fight for justice. But it felt like they wanted me as a viewer to forget that it started with Gretchen, who kept silent for years, until the moment she was fired, who had taped all the conversations for a year, but kept them to use them until the moment she was fired and who opened an attack on Roger, because he was the one to target best at that time.

This is all so calculated, because, lets face it, some of these women, including Gretchen, thought they had to do it to make a career. (it doesn't make it right for men to force them, but for the sake of making a point here) And then, when Kayla starts to blame Megyn, my first response was: 'this shows what kind of person you are as well. Sure those guys are bad, but you had the time to think about it, you did it after all and smiled when you got what you wanted and then, bam, when you see someone you can blame, you blame them.'

Again, the movie itself was entertaining. Some of the acting was really good, although Charlize sometimes loses the Megyn and struggles to find her back. Nicole Kidman also had her weak moments, but she wasn't whispering her lines this time.

Again, as a man, I think in this day and age, it's good that women in these situations get their stories told and their voices heard. Equality above all. But, even though the movie probably didn't intended me to feel this way, I had a hard time feeling sympathy for some of the characters and I think that's a missed opportunity. But I also think the ratings should be about the movie itself and not just about the subject. so therefor 6 stars in total.

wanted to love it.....but....
12 October 2019
Went to see this in ScreenX, but that really didn't offer anything extra, except that it made the movie just more expensive. It's also offered in MX4D, and that's probably why this movie has a problem. it seems to be made for 4D, because of the acting and editing. Through the entire movie there are scenes that build up to the action that would be enhanced by 4D. so basically it feels like it's made to let you experience 4D But then there's the cgi and that's where the movie really misses the mark. young Will Smith often doesn't look like young Will Smith, but like a bad computer animated person, that lipsyncs with the dialogue just a fraction too late. His lips don't move naturally, the eyes are wider than they should be, tears in his eyes look fake and the acting is slightly too slow, probably to make it possible to make Will Smith look that much younger.

I have to say, the movie, no matter how unrealistic the plot is and how often there are wtf moments, still is pretty enjoyable. It sometimes felt like a James Bond movie, American Style (over the top, bigger than big). I had a good time, just wouldn't do ScreenX again and think the movie could have been much better if the editing and special effects were better.

Ok, I gave it 6 stars, because I thought it was entertaining, but to be honest, this just couldn't keep my attention. it was like watching a compilation of short clips instead of a full movie and yes, there are many funy parts in it, which is why it gets 6 and not lower, it just wasn't cinema worthy. it was just.... meh. Reading the reviews here and seeing people give it 10 starts makes me wonder what other movies those people have ever watched, because if you give this 10 stars, then what if you see a really good movie. So people. lets just be realistic when we rate movies ok?

Not funny at all
8 August 2019
Seriously, why did this ever get made. Did they both have a last movie in a contract or something? Anne Hathaway was disappointingly bad, and I usually love her. Her Dutch was so bad, she should never try that again. But come on, Rebel Wilson, Please stop being the stereotypical dumb fat chick that always needs to win over the audience with her charm. It's so degrading, for you but also for other women. This movie was such a cliché and the acting was so bad, that I hope they will both learn a lesson here. Don't do anything for money, because it's not worth it. Don't waste your time on this movie. It's beyond bad.

5 stars may look bad, but it's better than you think. I'll explain
11 July 2019
Someone said it's a mix between Into The Storm and Lake Placid. That's pretty much it. Before the film it's explained on the screen, even before the commercials, that this film was based on true events in 2018. That's probably where the reality ended. The film starts with stiff acting and a cameraman who seems to have to find the right angle. But suspense starts and you just wonder where this is going. As long as we stay in the basement, this is actually a pretty solid movie. CGI-wise it could be better, but it's by far no Sharknado, it's much better than that and you keep wondering, where do these people get the strength to go on. But then shit hits the fan outside of the house. Slapstick, over the top, totally unbelievable and, in my opinion, completely useless in the whole movie, except for the laughs, because boy, did I laugh out loud watching some of this. Then, all logic goes out of the window. When you think 'This can't be topped', it will be topped, when you think, 'Don't do this'. they will do it, and yes, some of you might want to look away for moments like that. Some things stay unexplained, but by that time, you won't really care, because then you think: how can the waterlevel outside of the house be higher when there's the house is not a closed environment and there are holes everywhere. And yes, alligators keep hunting when there's a hurricane and violent floods. You have to hand it to them, they keep trying!! So, 5 stars, because it's so over the top, it's rediculous. 5 stars, because it's so much better than all the crap we've seen over the past years and the first half of the movie is pretty solid. Then 5 stars for comic relief. Damn, did I have fun, but damn, did I shake my head at all the action. I am curious to see who will give this higher than 6 stars and to what movies people would compare this to. because after all, this can't be better than the true classics we've seen in the past. This could have been the alligator version of Jaws. (That's why I think they opted for 'Crawl' as a title.) but the moment the animals stop at the gasstation, is when the creators missed their turn on the highway and went down south. Good popcorn flick, but don't take this serious at all.

It was pretty much average
4 April 2019
I was excited for this one, however, the book for me is one of Stephen King's best, so was also a bit cautious not to be overly excited. I don't like the original movie that much, so I thought it could have been done better and I had only seen one trailer very early on, so not too much was given away. But while watching this film I was just hoping for it to become better more and more, and that annoyed me. Some of the shots were pretty cheap visually and the acting, there was just no chemistry between the parents. The best acting comes from the kids. it seemed to take forever for the 'accident' to happen and when it finally did it seemed as if the movie was rushed, the plot had to be told, because they were afraid the attention of the viewer would be lost. (I wonder why, we did pay for the ticket after all, so why would you suddenly rush it). And then the ending. The thing is, you have probably either read the book or seen the movie, so you expect at least something. But the movie let go of a few things from the book and then you just know, the ending is going to be different too. And that made it very predictable. There were just a few times I thought it became real horror and the images were graphic, but over all, it's just a family movie gone wrong. 5 stars for entertainmentfactor, but that's it. can't make more of it.

It is ok, long and very kitsch, but ok
13 December 2018
I don't really understand why so many people seem to look at this film as if it's god's gift to mankind. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, it was ok, quite entertaining, had some fun bits and nice action. But it was like 20 minutes too long, most of the time I thought that it couldn't be more over the top, until the next scene actually was more over the top and the CGI sucks. on top of that the acting wasn't all that great at some times and horror of all horrors, Nicole Kidman can't move her face anymore. Maybe it's the best DC films since 10 years for some, ok, but lets not rate it 10 stars just for that. be objective, because this most certainly is not worth 10 stars. it absolutely can't live up to Black Panther if you are looking for to compare it with another movie. While watching this, I was litterally thinking that there is a reason why it took 15 years to develop Avatar and yet another 10+ years for the sequels. Because the time and money went to good CGI. This was straight out of a cheap bin full of unicornfarts dipped in care bear rainbows. Enjoy the movie for what it is, because it is enjoyable, but lets not go over the top with the ratings. the movie is over the top enough by itself.

Why cancel such an amazing show
26 November 2018
I absolutely fell in love with this show and that doesn't happen very often. It is well written, funny, has great acting, an original storyline. What's wrong here? I guess marketing? It is such a shame to see something this good being cancelled, because it didn't get the platform other series got. I'm very happy with the two seasons that have been released, but I have to say I'm sad, I was so looking forward to season 3.

I really want to love it
6 November 2018
The setting is good, the visuals are satisfying, the acting is good and at times amazing, really, that super long funeral home scene, it was so well done. But why o why is this so boring. After 6 episodes I really wanted to stop watching. I felt I needed to go on, just to do it justice, but with only one episode to go, I still can't keep my attention to it. Is it the back and forth in the timeline? Is it the fact that we often see scenes redone frome different points of view? No, I don't know, I can't put my finger on it, but no matter how good and well produced I want to think it is, it still puts me to sleep. It's just boring. I can't help it. so 6 for the effort, but it could have been a 4 as well. it's just middle of the road.

You know what you're in for, so just sit back and relax
17 July 2018
You see, where Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom really disappointed, because I expected something different, Skyscraper actually delivers exactly what you expect. And that makes it a fun movie to watch. Ok I have a thing for tall buildings, maybe that's also why I enjoyed it, because this movie has a lot of flaws, but it was pretty decent action, up until the last 5 minutes, with the whole reboot thing. that was pretty lame. But meh, I'd sauy 6,5 to 7 stars, so gave it 7. Grab your popcorn and just relax watching this one.

WTF did I just watch?
5 July 2018
I hardly ever give 1 star here, even Mother got a higher rating from me, but what, no, wait, seriously? Why in the world would this movie get such raving reviews in the press? I tempered my expectations, because I saw so many bad viewer reviews, but oh my Paison how bad was this. Never have I seen so many people play with their phone during a movie. I can say a lot, but I just can't be bothered. Just don't go see it. It makes no sense, the acting is horrible, the script is horrible. everything is just horrible. what a waste of money was this!

Just expected more
25 June 2018
Watched this movie in 2018, after watching other movies by Wes Anderson. I love The Grand Budapest Hotel and maybe I shouldn't compare, but this movie just left me.... kinda... meh. I don't know what it was, except that the acting seemed more like a parody to something than actually meant to be slightly over the top on purpose. Besides that, the whole story is too thin. I doesn't really grab you and invite you in for more. Some images are visually stunning. Especially the end on the church tower I thought looked beautiful. But in the end, it was just boring and couldn't keep my attention.

Jurassic Park 3 was better... and that says a lot
6 June 2018
SPOILER: Who likes a movie full of action and does not really care about the story has a blast watching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. But for me, as a lover of the Jurassic movies, I felt somewhat disappointed leaving the movie theatre. Yes. There are a lot of dino's. Yes, we all want them to be saved from the volcano that is going to whipe away Isla Nublar, but who came up with the idea to do this story and then throw out all the logic. I had so many questions. Why didn't Owen have any injuries after touching the lava? Does any animal 'hunt or attack' another living creature for food when its life is in danger? Why don't dino's jump in the water when there's lava surrounding them? Why didn't they sedate Blue? Why is a small wooden door strong enough for an animal that burst through nearly anything? Why does a huge animal take the time to silently open a window to creep up on someone? Why hide in a bed and create a Nightmare on Elmstreet moment? And why does Owen crawl in the bed with the girl? Why doesn't anyone seem to be intelligent? So many questions, I won't ask them all here, because I don't want to put spoilers out there, but I believe there were about 20 or more scenes where I thought 'Seriously?' and after the first, very chaotic half of the movie I knew it wasn't going to be any better. No, it became worse. They didn't learn from creating Indominus Rex, because now we have the Indoraptor. The dino's should have passed out from gasses at some point, but they didn't. At some point there are a few scenes where I thought this was actually a remake of the movie Relic. And they give away the ending like 10 minutes before it actually happens. You just know what will happen. Besides this all, some of the actors with smaller parts are really stiff and acted as if this was a stageplay.

I am giving 5 stars. Why? I did enjoy the movie for all the action and dino's in it and after the biggest part of the first half I was able to watch it, disconnecting it from the Jurassic-series. Even though there are quite a few 'nods and winks' to the first trilogy. The main characters are enjoyable to watch, the younger actors belonged more in an X-men spin-off though. Can you expect something close to the previous Jurassic movies? No, this is something totally different and the ending leaves a lot of room for a next movie, so there will be more to see for sure. Just keep your fond memories of Jurassic Park, The Lost World, even JPIII and the first Jurassic World and try to watch it with an open mind, not connecting it to what it could or should have been.

It is so bad, because it is close to the book and poorly executed
26 May 2018
I have to say I don't really like writing the bad reviews, but with this film I just couldn't keep myself from not saying how I feel about this. The point is, the book is decades old, and the movie is adapted to current time, taken from there. Yes, many things have changed for the script, but reading the book prior to the movie so I could make an honest judgement made one thing clear. The book is very weak. it doesn't grab me like other books did. nowhere did I feel any depth in it, or any touching feeling. I did have the same with Narnia, don't get me wrong, but there the story for some reason is less depending on coincidental facts to have things happen. It just wishes to be too much and too special. The movie gave me the same feeling and I understood why they made some choices for this adaptation.

But seriously, were those the only choices you made? well bad choices were made. It all looks so cheap, so fake, so over the top. The costumes are just really badly made, the visuals look unfinished, the script is just proof of bad writing and even the actors don't seem to enjoy making the film. Reese just comes off as she always does, knowing it all better. Mindy struggles to keep her part up and Oprah, well, she's just Oprah with a wig on. You do want to hug her. she's the only one that you feel love from. But then you just expect her to hand out cars to everyone and she also just doesn't hold up the part well. All in all, this seems to be a bunch of stars having a costumeparty and one of their friends just happens to record it. I sat it out, I really did, The book already was a struggle to get through because of the poor writing, but man, how can 1 hour and 40 minutes feel like it cost you your entire weekend and leaves you exhausted.

Visually stunning
11 November 2017
Let me first say this: many negative comments here are based on comparison with the previous adaptation of the book Murder on the Orient Express. My review is based on this version the way I just viewed it on the big screen. And even though the story may be known, even though it's a star vehicle with a group of big names and not all of them get the time to truly show their strength, it works in my eyes. Why? Because of the spherical way it has been filmed. In a way, it reminded me of the Grand Budapest Hotel. And I have to say, I loved it. The book was written for entertainment, the first movie was made for that and this movie has just one purpose and that's entertainment. A good night with visual pleasure. Not to find out who did it, most of us already know. It's the way it is found out that matters. People who say it was an unnecessary remake in my eyes are in love with the first version and rightfully they are. But that does not make their review objective. If you have an open mind, if you like to be entertained. Then go watch this movie and have yourself entertained. For me, it was a pleasure from start to end. Only negative... it's a bit short. And in the end, Michelle Pheiffer can sing a nice tune during the end credits.

How to-movie
30 September 2017
Don't let my rating effect how you judge the movie, but I just came from the cinema and feel a huge need to vent, so you are going to be my audience. First of all, I have to be totally honest with you. I am one of those people who have to finish a movie before making a judgment and putting a review out there in the world. Second of all, David Aronofsky is one of my favorite movie-makers, director, producer, writer, for a while now. The Fountain is my favorite movie of all times, the only movie I wasn't a big fan of was Noah. Mother! has been on my To See-list ever since word came out it went into production and even more after seeing the trailer. I was so excited to go and see it. This must have influenced my expectations of this movie. Also, and that's where the review title comes from, I might have been influenced by the audience that was in the cinema I was in. The room was almost full, over 200 people and I went alone because I wanted to experience it in my own cocoon, not having to explain why I loved the movie so much to friends who might think otherwise. And yes, I've read raving reviews and also read about people thinking it was pretentious. So why this title? Why just a rating 1? First: how to get a cinema empty? By the time the war broke out, there were only 7 people of the 200 left, myself included. How to miss a point so much with a movie? it gives you little hints, with the chrystal, you must think either he's this or either he's that. There was one point in the movie, I can't recall when and don't want to give any spoilers, that I felt I was questioning myself if I was dreaming or not. I could just not be watching this, was I? It just didn't make sense. Yet, people kept leaving, should I leave? No, I have waited so long for this movie to come out, I should sit it out. There must be an explanation in the end. Then, the wtf moment when Kirsten Wiig appeared and she just felt so miscast in this miss. I'm not a fan of her, but it totally felt as if she just came from any other movie she made and just stumbled into this one.

Somehow I have to give credits to this movie. Even though the images were grainy, some shots were visually stunning, some scenes were fantastically acted, some monologues were fantastically written.

How to disappoint a fan? How to really be pretentious, even though I was ready to totally defend that? How to make a viewer feel so much emotions and not guide them into giving them a place while watching your work. How to abuse the art of movie-making? That last one is meant for a good reason, because making art is an art itself. you make it to make a statement, to evoke emotions, reactions, anything. But it only evoked anger, misunderstanding and for me sadness, because I can no longer just go to the cinema when another Aronofsky movie comes out. For one simple reason:

How can this movie be unseen? I seriously wish I had never ever seen this movie. But that can't be taken away. So that's why I can only give it a 1 star rating. Even though the movie can be seen as art.

Misleading trailer
24 September 2017
The trailer of this movie had me so excited. Some of my favorite actresses take part in this cast and the story, which I was unfamiliar with not having read the book or seen the '70's movie, and I usually love Sophia Coppola's films (well Marie Antoinette is one of my favorite films and she has done some marvelous work). But this, the movie does certainly not live up to the trailer. The acting is good, even though the dialogues remain weak and the characters do not get the chance to really evolve. The fact that there is no background music in this movie leaves the spherical build up to your own imagination, which becomes a weakness of the movie in the second act. When you think finally something is going to happen, it is so little and so disappointing that it becomes frustrating to watch. At the moment the end credits started, I just said 'is this it? When is the movie going to start?' but sadly enough, it had already finished. I gave it 4 stars, because Dunst and Kidman (stay away from the botox) have a good performance, but they just can't save the movie. And message to trailer makers, this movie got it's age rating because of the trailer and that trailer, even though it looked good, it belonged to a completely other movie. Such a shame.

13 Reasons Why (2017–2020)
1/10
Not going to give you 13 reasons
20 August 2017
At first my interest was awakened by this situation. I have read other coming of age books that handle the suicide subject and, well, it's a subject that has come across my own life very often as well. Especially during those teen-times. I am now older. Wiser? I don't know. But what I do know is that this show at first hit me, with a positive feeling. A human way of looking at issues that teens have to deal with. But then I started to realize with what I was dealing here. A show, based on a book which I haven't read but might probably rate the same way, that deals with a subject that's so delicate, it should have been thought of twice what this could actually do to people. The storytelling is OK, even though a bit slow, but the way other characters react. The way they deal with the tapes. the way the school deals with the aftermath and the students who may or may not have been traumatized. It gives off a totally wrong message. As if it is normal to act this shallow. Besides the fact that this show is totally not realistic in my eyes (I mean, it starts a week after the suicide and already so many people have had the tapes and listened to them and forwarded them even. And no one ever thought it would be wise to have someone else listen to them or think about consequences. Or no one ever questioned if Hannah was sane enough to know what she did.) the story also shows off as if a suicide victim, and I call them victims, always know so well what they do when they kill themselves. People, sad reality is that most of the suicides aren't happening with people who are clear enough to fully understand what they are doing. Let alone take the time to make tapes, prepare long time in advance, as if they can watch what happens afterwards. I gave 4 stars at first, but writing this review with tears in my eyes, made me realize how bad this show is. all I can say is, please if you watch it, realize, this is not normal. not real. It is horrible!

What did I just watch
17 August 2017
There was only one other user review here, so I just had to leave another one. This is probably the most pointless movie ever. I think it is supposed to be funny and sure it may have gotten me to lift the corners of my mouth a few times, slightly. But the whole time, and yes I finished watching it, I was waiting for the movie to go somewhere, so have a point, to, I don't know, start really. What bugs me the most is Toni Colette's part. She is in my eyes a great actress who can do amazing things. Molly Shannon on the other hand is one of those actresses I usually avoid (the other two I didn't know). But how did Colette end up in this part? Did she have to fulfill a contract? And what did Adam Levine doing in this movie? He seems so out of character. The acting overall is lame, the plot is empty, the things that happen make no sense, especially ending up on the boat with the kids. That part just didn't even looked as if it belonged in this movie. All in all, one tip: don't watch this. gave it 2 stars cause I've seen even worse than this, but more it sure doesn't deserve.

Seriously?
23 July 2017
When I watched this movie it was because it got 7.2 stars here on IMDb. But it was so bad, I seriously do not understand why it get this good ratings. The whole story does nothing special and especially does not make sense. 3 guys go for 300K and don't seem to get to an agreement until the girl needs to be helped out of her unpleasant life. From there on out it goes wrong. The motivation is wrong, the clichés are wrong, the backstory of the blind guy they want to rob is wrong. How does a blind guy get a girl trapped in his basement, saying 'rich girls never go to jail', but he can keep her in his own home, and cops never go look for her in his house even though he's suspect number 1 because she killed his daughter in an accident. I am still wondering how I ever came to end this movie. The dog in car part took too long, him finding her eventually was ridiculous. You know what, if you want to spend 1.5 hours of your life wasting it on a bad movie, this should be a good pick for you. end of rant.

This has nothing to do with the Alien I know
31 May 2017
If you are a fan of Alien and work on a movie called Alien: Covenant, you should quit your job and be a shamed to have worked on this. I gave it 6 stars, because I enjoyed the movie and it has some OK acting in it, but while writing I kept deducting stars, because of how bad this movie is actually constructed. As many people before me already wrote. The whole movie is full of moments that are not logical. The way the characters act and react. The plot line itself. It is very predictable on every level. This movie has just been made to cash in on the legacy, but it actually spits in its face. It is truly a shame you can't take it back now anymore and start all over again. Shame Ridley! Bad Writing, bad acting, bad casting and very bad of you to actually think your audience is this stupid. I went without reading reviews, because I am a fan of the Alien movies for a long time and did not want to be influenced, but this movie is a smack in the face to a real fan. Sure, the original Alien-movies also have their flaws. But with this one, someone just had to stand up and say 'this is wrong, we need to rethink this'. Such a shame.
