Rick and Morty: The Rickshank Rickdemption (2017)
This episode has ruined a once-funny animated sitcom.
I would like to start by saying that I was quite a big fan of Rick and Marty prior to this episode, and I really enjoyed the first two seasons. However, I'm said to say it has turned to crap! Straight from the first scene, it set the formula for the next 20 minutes: Boring, dull, predictable, confusing and most of all, unfunny! Not only was it extremely confusing, there was no explanation!
This episode has undoubtedly ruined Rick and Morty! I will watch the next one when it comes out, but if it is anything as bad this I will stop watching it.
Doctor Who: The Adventure Games - Blood of the Cybermen (2010)
Perfect blend between skill and strategy, however ruined by gameplay mechanics
This game is very unique, in the sense that it requires you to use your common sense, by only giving you your main objective and few hints on how to achieve your objective. Most games practically give you a step by step guide on how to achieve is mission / objective. However this game gives you an object, and shows you another object, but it is down to you to make the link between the two. Also, I love the mini-games that appear every 10-15 minutes. They are actually quite challenging. Furthermore, the game also requires quite a bit of skill, however when you die you do respawn, almost exactly where you were with no penalty.
Now, to the bad bit, which made me deduct two stars! The actual gameplay mechanics and physical momevent, is crap! Every time you climb, or jump, you can feel the game just cut into some awful, laggy animation, and some of the controls for the mini-game are absolutely awful!
Overall this could have been an outstanding game, but it has been spoiled by bad game mechanics.
My rating : 7.5/10
Arrival (2016)
Great Film! But a bit hard to follow
I didn't go into this film with high expectations, however I was really shocked by how good it was. I hadn't done any research on it, or even watched the trailer. I was expecting it to be another film that just has massive explosions, constant violence and no story. However, the film was very different. It didn't waste any time at the beginning, and within 6-7 minutes got to the main story. From then on, it was taken very slowly, almost a bit too slow, therefore the film could have been cut down by about 15 minutes. However, as the film went on, it became even more clear what was happening. Everybody assumed that the beginning sequence was set before the main film, but it was actually in the future! And finding out that Ian is the father was an unexpected surprise! I would definitely recommend this film to anybody that likes sci-fi films. I am sure I will re-watch this film at a later date!
Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
Very good game!
Star Wars battlefront is a great game Great weapons Great explosions Great vehicles Great Heroes Great Villains Great Missions Great Online Modes Great Offline Modes Definitely worth the money! Get it! The Heroes and Villains are amazing to play as, although there could be more than just 6 (Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia Organa, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine and Bobba Fett) There is loads of great game modes like Walker Assault, Cargo, Supremacy, Blast, Droid Run, Hero Hunt, Fighter Squadron, Drop zone and Heroes vs Villains. There is only 11 blasters and 23 star cards with not much customisation for weapons it could be SLIGHTLY better, but over all great. The Battle of Jakku will be AMAZING, with an extra 2 MAPS and it will be so good. I would definitely buy this game it is so worth the money and you will love it!
Spectre (2015)
007 is back, with a bang!
*SOME SPOILERS* So, today I went to watch Spectre with my family, thinking it would be OK. I was wrong. Spectre was amazing! The action was top-notch, there was humour, and Madeleine didn't die! Daniel Craig was, (as always), amazing! Ralph Fiennes was a great new M, and Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Rory Kinnear, were great as Q, Moneypenny and Tanner. Christoph Waltz was amazing as Franz Oberhauser (ish). Also, lots questions from Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall were answered, with lots of tie-ins from the aforementioned films. Sam Smith did an amazing job with 'Writings of the Wall.' The opening song sequence was spectacular.
The Wolverine (2013)
Some good scenes, some stupid scenes
Right can i start by saying that I watched it 2 years after it came out, so I bought the blu-ray a few days ago, and having looked at its rating of 6.7, i tried not not to expect for too much and get my hopes up, although i tried not to go into it thinking it would be terrible. So there was some really interesting, gripping scenes like when the bomb drops and the men commit suicide, but the whole Jean Grey thing was just stupid, some of the action was hard to keep up with and made my eyes go funny, there was some humour, like the bit when he said: go **** yourself pretty boy, but some of the dialogue was a bit corny and had no meaning, so the film could have easily been cut down a bit, (so god knows how long the extended cut is) the train fight was just a bit silly, they keep jumping over the metal things, then to to fight in combat with each other then all of a sudden there's another metal thing. Also the ninja fight near the end felt a bit short and they could've extended it a bit, they probably did in the extended cut) also when the ninjas invade, it was so stupid that they didn't see them. Overall I'm not sure whether to give it a 7 or an 8, i think I'll give it 8. Overall : 7.7/10
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
A lot better than I expected.
WOW! I did not expect that! It was awesome! Personally, I knew it was gonna be good, but I didn't think it would be as good as Avengers Assemble (The Avengers) or Guardians of the Galaxy. But it was. It started off with an amazing opening sequence, filled with amazing action sequence. Which started of a hilarious gag of 'Caps Bad Language' restriction. "Cap said a bad language word... Cap wouldn't like that word... Did anyone else just realise Cap said language" I thought it was hilarious. The action sequences were thrilling, as well as putting me on the edge of my seat. There was emotional scenes, those involving Natasha Romanoff and Bruce Banner. The Avengers hallucinations were terrifyingly good. The end battle was intense but it showed that the Avengers are the Earths Mightiest Heroes. I nearly cried at the end. Also, it was nice to notice that Clint Barton's 10(ish) year old son was reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, as well as it was nice to know that the last 10 mins was recorded in Norwich, my home town. Amazing film.
