Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)
Partly boring and far too long.
As many other reviews have mentioned, the movie is far too long. The story itself is very interesting, however the way it was portrayed in the film was not. The runtime is just over 3 hours for a story that could be told documentary style in 20-30 minutes, or a normal movie in 1hr 30 minutes.
The acting, while good was confusing, it was unclear sometimes why something was being shown and often completely irrelevant things were shown. I also found the sound mixing to be quite poor and struggled to understand some bits of dialog.
My advice, skip the film and read about what the films based on instead in either the book by David Grann or elsewhere and save yourself a dull few hours.
Nope (2022)
Genuinely confused at how this has such good reviews.
I usually don't write reviews, but I felt I had to for this. I thought the trailer looked interesting, and since this was a 7.4 at the time of writing I went to see it in the cinema with my girlfriend.
I can honestly said, I feel it was a waste of 2 hours, the overall storyline is daft, it's long, drawn out, and not much happens, apart from 2 or 3 interesting scenes, what makes it worse is there's no real explanation of what everything was about or why.
If you really must see this, don't waste your time or money at the cinema. Wait for it to come to a streaming service so at least you can skip through it or turn it off.
The White Tiger (2021)
Decent watch
I don't usually write reviews but I thought I would for this as I was debating weather or not to watch it. Its very hard to figure out from reviews if an Indian film is good or not, as they always seem to have high ratings, so in general I find reviews can't be trusted for Indian films. Here's my brief take on The White Tiger.
The first half of the film is good, it's interesting and the story keeps you interested, the 2nd half is okay, some parts didn't make sense to me, and the ending was sped through.
This film is worth a watch overall I think, the acting pretty good and it definately feels more like 'hollywood' than 'bollywood'
