Where to even start. And why am I wasting even more time on this show by writing a review?! Good point, so let's just summarise a few of the insanely stupid points from the 1st episode.
If I could sum it up (for UK readers), this is show is as if the writers and cast of Hollyoaks decided to do a Sci Fi.
1 episode was too much.
- Entrust most important mission in human history to a bunch early 20's boneheads
- Relieve captain of her command because she dared to choose an extra few months travel compared to an 11% chance of death and total mission failure.
- Somehow invoke the mutiny without contacting earth (NASA or whoever paid £billions to sanction this mission) despite communications to earth being so good they can hologram chat with their loved ones in ultra mega HD.
- Within seconds of disagreeing about the mutiny start kicking and punching your crew mates in the face, breaking someone's nose.
- New captain screws up to the point the ship takes substantial damage and is on the verge of disaster only to wake the old captain up and she miraculously saves it by telling one of the kids to "do whatever it takes to fix it". Which she does. Through magic?
- Play music to the alien structure. Start doing cartwheels around the field when the alien structure plays music back.
