The Underrated Star Wars Series
Andor was not a character that interested me. When I heard that there was going to be a series, it still didn't interest me. The trailer didn't interest me either. But it was a very good series. I liked it very much. The series started slowly, but progressed very well. My notes for the first season are positive. Scenario, dialogs, scenes, production, effects, actors are very nice, professional and correct choices. I didn't think I would like it this much, but it was a different job, in a positive sense. After Obi, this series was very good. It's a quality drama. I think it's very underrated. I'm also looking forward to the second season. Tony Gilroy is always behind good work.
Wakanda and Also Talokan Forever !
The movie was long. I went into the movie with no good expectations. Maybe according to this it was better than I expected. It wasn't a bad movie. Of course, the Marvel formula was also here. I really liked the atmosphere and music of the movie. The creation of the new Black Panther or the journey of the creation was good. Since it is in the Marvel formula, the ending of the movie was very predictable. The acting in the movie was good. There were many cliches, of course. Shuri wasn't bad. There was a character in the movie that I was annoyed with and didn't like at all. Iron Heart. Riri. She's a very boring and annoying character. I never liked. Genius ? Seriously ? She was like a spoiled person. The costume was awful. After Iron Man Iron Heart wasn't good at all. So the new Avengers characters were okay. New Hawkeye, new Captain, new Captain Marvel and the others. But this one wasn't good. I'm tired of her scenes. Talokan scenes were very good. Better than Aquaman. I would like to see more and I would like to see it in the future. I wish there were a lot of political scenes in the beginning, but they didn't.
Johnny Got His Gun (1971)
Metallica - One
I love Metallica a lot. Their song called "One" is a work of art for me, both in terms of music and lyrics. The video clip was also very beautiful and impressive and sad. I later learned that many of the scenes in the clip were from this movie. I decided to watch this movie. I don't know, is it because I've watched the video clip many times and loved it, because of this i liked it or not ? The movie is slow first of all. But it didn't bother me. A very good anti-war movie and plot. I had seen a movie about Dalton Trumbo and I knew he was an important person for Hollywood cinema. Maybe it wasn't in the movie, maybe I forgot, I was surprised that this movie was adapted from the book he wrote, even writing the screenplay himself, and even directing the movie. The acting is ok geneally. But Jason Robards and Donald Sutherland played very well. They were star of this movie. It's a 1971 movie, but it was shot in black / white. It was shot like a very old movie. It was intentional, I think, because it was such a good decision. I loved the movie. It is one of those movies that everyone should watch. It was brave film.
Enola Holmes 2 (2022)
Girls, Girls, Girls
I think it is a more watchable and entertaining movie than the first movie. But that doesn't make the movie a good movie. The movie is bad. First of all, the fourth wall, Milly, Henry, these are ok. But there are some things I didn't like. It's weird that things like this happen in the Victorian era. I won't tell. Anyway. The Moriarty idea is good. These kinds of things don't bother me mostly, but most of them are not good. Anyway, the movie is watchable, it's fun, it's not boring, and the editing is very good. Compared to the first movie, it was a more detective-like movie. But as someone who has read all of the books, I didn't like it even though I enjoyed it. But if there is a sequel, I will watch it. Moriarty. I thought again. No, it's not a good idea. Nope.
Twilight Zoneish Quality Stories
Anthology series, each episode is a different horror story. These are not new, original ideas. But I liked the series. Is it super ? Not. Is it weak ? Definitely not. Let me first say that the acting is very good. Production design and atmosphere are very good. The stories are some good, some ok. But it wasn't scary at all. At least for me. The stories were good, if not scary. It was curious. I also liked that each episode was directed by a different director and at the same time, each director had his / her own style. It was good that Guillermo Del Toro told the beginning of the story at the beginning of each episode. Like The Twilight Zone :) By the way, the effects were very good except for a few scenes in the series.
Black Adam (2022)
Paint It Black
What did you expect from this movie?
I found what I was waiting for. I mean, I was expecting a fun movie that wasn't strong, had great effects, and had good / ok acting. The movie was such a movie. I think the effects were very good. Acting was ok. The Rock was a perfect fit for the role. Frankly, I found the script weak. So obviously there were some good lines and ideas in the movie, but they couldn't fill it. It could have been a good story, a questioning movie, but it didn't. The ending of the movie was very predictable and it ended exactly as I expected. After credit was good. The slow-montion action scenes were good in the beginning, but then they became too repetitive. In general, I liked it, but also did not like it. But i don't think this movie is bad.
It's a good series as a series. Stunning. Production design and acting were very good. I knew about Dahmer, but he was someone I didn't research. What they did were very bad and terrible. In the last parts of the series, they brought the subject to unnecessary topics, but there was no need. As always, when someone like him occurred, first of all, their childhood and relationships with their parents are discussed, which I think was a very valid issue. What can we say about Dahmer? What they did was very bad and terrible. Of course, there would be some people who admired him. It intrigued me, but I'm not a fan of course. When the trailer of the series came out, it caught my attention and I added it to my watch list. But I didn't expect the series to be watched this much. For some reason, I lose my interest when it comes to a series or movie that suddenly became famous and watched a lot like Squid Game. So I waited a bit and passed it on. It's a good series, but I didn't like the way some subjects were handled.
House of the Dragon (2022)
Game of Thrones Vol. 2
After the last season of "Game of Thrones", I had no enthusiasm for this series. I have never read the book. After watching the first episode, I realized that I missed it. As always, the acting was excellent. Although the time jumps are a bit quick, I really liked it. Production, camera work, script and stuff were good. Effects were also better. They did a great job compared to the first season. Maybe it still hasn't been a very famous series like "Game of Thrones", maybe it is, but I don't know, but at least it's a very, very good series like "Game of Thrones". I am looking forward to the next seasons. Congratulations to the team, they still did a great job. I hope it doesn't end like "Game of Thrones". Congratulations !
In general, "Hellraiser" is one of my favorite movie series. The director has done a good job lately. This movie is an ok movie in my opinion. Even though it's a remake, it doesn't awful. There are good things in the movie. Cenobites were very good. Pinhead wasn't bad, but Doug Bradley was so good it's hard to replace him. While looking at other actors, I didn't like the acting, it's very "fake" acting. Production design, camera work, effects were very good. The script had weaknesses. Final girl became a character I didn't care about. It's not a bad movie, but frankly, I don't want sequels to come. Music, I don't know, I don't remember, there was no good music then, because I don't remember :)
Halloween Ends (2022)
I loved the original movie. The movie shot in 2018 wasn't bad. The second movie was "filler". This movie is a complete disappointment. It was a bad movie. Although I liked the visual and camera work, the script was bad. There were bad decisions in the movie. Michael Myers was almost absent from the movie. He was old, in need of help :) Yes, I was expecting better things from this movie, although the opening scene of the movie is very harsh. It was nice to have a pumpkin from a pumpkin at the intro, like Michael Myers being reborn every time :) The acting wasn't bad. Overall I didn't enjoy the movie, except for a few good scenes. But as I said, I liked the camera work.
I'm One of the Audience Who Said "Not Bad" in General
I've never been a "Lord of the Rings" fan. I haven't read the books yet. I have watched the movies a few times and I really liked the movies. I don't think this series is bad. I liked it more than the fans who hated it because I didn't read the books ? The visuals, effects, acting were good. There was some weakness in the script and the dialogues, but I'm one of the audience who said "Not bad" in general. I liked the season finale. I will eagerly await the second season. The scenes that I found most boring in the series were generally the hobbit scenes, for some reason I never liked hobbits very much. I find them boring :)
Anyway, it's a good show, the second season will be better, I hope. That's my opinion tied to the first season of the show.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
Worst Show of the Year.
It's not just Marvel's worst series. Worst show of the year. When I saw the trailer, I knew it would be a bad job. There is a awful humor in the show. They are trying to be funny, but they are not funny. The acting wasn't bad, but no matter how good it didn't save the show. I think this series should be a lesson for Marvel. Do some serious stuff ! ! ! She-hulk is not an interesting character. Not because she is she. She is not interesting as a character, not smart person. Okay, she doesn't want to be a superhero, but she's not good as a lawyer either. Final episode ? They must have thought they were doing something different and interesting. The final episode was awful too.
Mark Cousin is a cinephile. This is very clear when watching the documentary. In general I liked it. I liked that he talked about not only "Hollywood" but also world cinema in the documentary, and even more so. There are a few directors and movies that I wish he talked about more. Mark Cousin loves 50's, 60's European, especially French cinema, and he shows it. I didn't like this. Rather, he chooses a side and sends lots of love kisses to that side. With this exception, I think overall it's a very good documentary. His reading techniques are very good. I have called myself "cinephile" a few times, but I can understand that I am not a cinephile while watching this documentary. Iranian, Indian, Japanese, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Russian, German, French, Scandinavian and so on.. I've watched movies from world cinemas, but I understand that I like "Hollywood" cinema in general. So, I don't like very realistic and drama movies ? 🤔🤔🤔
Another Lumier Video
Another Lumier video. Yes, this is a documentary. When I watched the movie, it surprised me that there were crowded work-outs even back then. It's like a view from the "Elmler Academiyasi" or "Koroghlu" subway station when scools and univercity begin. Ha - ha -ha 😁. Frankly, if we evaluate it as a movie or a documentary, we can not. But when you realize that it's just an image from the 19th century from a historical point of view, you realize that this is not an empty thing, but something historical and important. But I'm sure there will be people who say, what the .... is this, ?! I think movie lovers come across these movies during research, otherwise I don't think normal movie watchers know about this movie.
Maybe every cinema lover has watched this movie. It is a very famous movie. Actually, it wouldn't be right to call it a movie, when we look at the time, it's just a 1-minute video. But it is obvious how important a movie it was for that time. A movie ? It was a miracle then. I even remember watching a colorful and HD version of it as today's technology develops. I would like to see those times. Is there a movie about the Lumier brothers? I think it would be interesting if I looked into it. Indeed, when you look at it now, you realize that you are watching something silly but also historical. We all read history, right or wrong? But this is real history.
Life of an American Fireman (1903)
1903 ! ! !
I've heard a lot about this movie.
There was something about this movie in The Story of Film: An Odyssey documentary. It caught my attention and I watched it. Frankly, of course, it might be funny when you look at it now and boring even though it's 6 minutes, but that's history. 1903, i mean "wow" As much as I love cinema and movies, I didn't know there was a movie being made in 1903 and it surprised me. Camera, lens techniques, editing are new discoveries in this movie. It is one of the historically important films. But as I said, it doesn't mean anything now, you just realize that you are watching an ancient and historical movie. That's why this movie is important.
Mostly "Explained" Couldn't Explain
I was hopeful.
But "Explained" doesn't explain a lot of things.
But let me tell you why I keep going. I think the topics are very good and trendy, although there are sometimes ok, sometimes good and generally bad episodes. For this reason, I continued to watch, I will watch the other seasons. By the way, the intro music sucks, who thought it was good and approved. It's like I hear the cow "mooow" all the time. I think "History 101" was a better documentary series. I said some of the topics were well chosen, but some were really bad and unnecessary. I think some parts could have been better, but it's like someone didn't let them 😉
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
I love it.
I had heard the name of this series a lot, and it was said to be one of the best series on Netflix. First of all, congratulations to the director. Everything was pre-planned. The script is very good. Technical work has been very good. The acting is simply perfect. The kid actors and actresses played perfectly. Adults played perfectly. Carla Cugino is the star of this show. Casting is excellent. The childhood and adult versions of the acting have been very good both in terms of acting and in terms of face type. It was very good hoor series. It was also a very good sad drama as an addition to the horror series. I liked it very much. A very good, cleverly executed series. Congratulations ! ! !
The Karate Kid (1984)
Some Movies are Getting Old
I watched it for the first time. Some movies are getting old. This movie is an old movie. Actually, there are a lot of cliches in the movie. I wasn't too impressed, but it's exactly the 80's movie. I liked the movie, but I wasn't impressed. I think this movie have become classics. Of course, there were things I didn't like. But overall it's an ok movie. Music was good. I like a few fighting tactics. I did Karate for 2 years when I was a kid, but the lessons were not like that, I never continued karate. Acting is 80's acting and satisfying. I also liked Miyagi's character. I think the tournament scenes of the movie ended too quickly. They could actually shoot epic there.
What Would You Do if It Were You ?
I've never been a football fan. I started watching football very late and stopped after watching it for about 10 years. I don't watch more than 15 years. Football is not as fun as it used to be, in my opinion. One of the best players of the footbal was Figo.. When I started watching football, Figo was already playing for Real Madrid and the team at that time was great. Later I learned that Figo transferred from Barcelona. At the time, I didn't know how big of a deal it was. Yes, it was a huge transfer and one of the most interesting and sounding transfer in football history. I've never researched it deeply. It wasn't interesting to me, but I saw and watched this Spanish documentary on Netflix. It was interesting. It was interesting to see each person speaking their own truth. I didn't understand how Barcelona fans were spewing so much hate. Football can be toxic sometimes. Frankly, I loved watching Fenerbahce, Barcelona and Liverpool while watching football and I think I was fan of these 3 clubs. Yes, the same thing happened between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. Emre Belezoglu. But I couldn't understand. Traitor? No. For example, you can ask me, how would you react if Alex de Souza was transferred from Fenerbahce to Galatasaray? I would be upset. I'd be pissed, but if I was in the football arena, I wouldn't have thrown anything at him. Max. I would shout "yuuuuu". But I wouldn't give hate speech to his family. I never liked or understood this side of football. Why do people worship a team like a religion? What would you do if it were you?
As a documentary, it satisfied me. It was an interesting documentary. I haven't watched football or anything related to football for a long time.
There Was Potential . . . . .
I was looking for a movie to watch on Netflix and this movie caught my attention. "Cube", "Saw", "Exam" and so on, movies like these intrigue me. The endings of these kind of movies are often not satisfactory. First of all, I continued to watch this movie by liking it, but I started to dislike it almost at the end. Yes, people are weird, bad and they will be selfish in that case. Always. That's one of the good things about the movie, that you think of yourself in that situation. For example, if it were me, what would I decide?
First of all, I didn't like the ending of the movie. I did not like at all. Among the dialogues in the movie, there were some good ones and those who were not.
For example : The lesbian woman thinks she should not be killed because she is a lesbian, but she can decide to kill someone else. The atheist was actually very right, but it turns out that everyone was a believer. Really ? What about the Muslim woman ? Wasn't she belivier too ? Prejudice ? Or what about racism ? Good subject chosen, there was potential, but I think it was not done well. Tired of the movie ? Absolutely not, the movie was trying to be smart, but it didn't happen.
History 101 (2020)
First of all, 20 minutes is very little time for a documentary.
When I was a student at university, I always watched at least one documentary or documentary series after I came home. I haven't watched in a long time. I missed this.
This documentary is my style. I was even intrigued when I saw his name on Netflix.
The topics are well chosen. Like I said, 20 minutes is too little. I would prefer 1 hour. A documentary between "6" and "7" point in my opinion. It's not very good, but I don't think it's bad either. Even in a subject that does not interest me, it is not boring. These are my thoughts. But that's my opinion based on the first season. That's for sure, I'll be watching this series until it's over. Interesting. There are a few things I don't like. In particular, most of the things are told in America's perspective or American standards. Metric system, temperature system used in Americ, but not in Europe or the other continents. This is a little frustrating.
Non-Disney Version of Aladdin
Visually it's great, but the script and immersion were weaker than I expected. Acting was ok. But it was a disappointment for me. It's like a non-Disney version of Aladdin :) I wasn't expecting more gin stories. There were few people in the cinema. Everyone was bored, but I was curious how it would end, but it didn't turn out as I had hoped. What did you expect if you ask..? More fun movie. Except for a few scenes, this movie was a fantasy romantic drama film. The film received generally positive reviews from "critics", but was a box-office bomb. Adapting the 1994 short story "The Djinn in the Nightingale's Eye" by A. S. Byatt. Elba stars as a djinn who is freed by a professor (Swinton) and recounts his life to her.
Crimes of the Future (2022)
Instead of Throwing Away Plastics, Just Eat Them ! ! !
Frankly, it was more disappointing than I expected. It was a very strange and weird movie. Acting was good. Kristen Stewart in particular gave an interesting performance. It was a movie with potential, but this movie is not good. For me. Of course, there were many things that I did not understand, that I could not understand. There were good ideas. But overall it was a weird and weak movie. Although it's a D. Cronenberg movie. I have no positive thought about the performance artist. I love art, but I have never been able to understand performance art or performance artists. I think it's very . . . . .
Don't Look Down ! ! !
There were things in the movie that I liked and things that I did not like. In general, the tower scenes were very good. Acting was also good. The story was very weak, but the "survive" scenes were okay. This movie will be forgotten and most people won't watch it a second time. Including me. It's a movie that would have a "6" rating, but I had fun and frankly I was nervous, so I think it's 7. I don't think I have a acrofibia, but the height scenes made me very nervous. It's very obvious that it was shot on green screen, but it's believable.
I thought the tower was a real tower, but it wasn't.
