A few weeks ago, the results of 'The Science of Scare' were released: a top 50 of horror movies based on the average heart rate measured while watching.
Regardless of whether the results are well founded or not, which horror movie of their top 25 scared you the most? (Not per se your favorite horror movie overall!)

Many horror movies use jump scares or gore. However, there's also a category of horror movies that doesn't rely on these aspects and mostly use a scary atmosphere or vibe. Atmospheric horror movies seem to have (re)gained more popularity recently. What is your favorite horror movie that doesn't just rely on gore or jump scares, but mostly has a scary atmosphere or vibe?

The Curse of La Llorona (2019)
Missed opportunity for a interesting, original story...
19 June 2020 - 2 out of 2 users found this review helpful.
Despite the ratings here, I still had hope for this movie. But unfortunately the ratings are right.
This movie doesn't have the Conjuring-quality. There are clichés everywhere, it's most of the time predictable, but the worst thing is that even with this interesting folklore-theme, it still feels unoriginal and (for me) boring.
The movie wasn't scary and the jumpscares didn't work for me at all.
Apart from this, the vibe is good and it's clearly not a B movie because of the cinematography, but the story lacks originality and it's just boring.
