Corny, cliche, but fun
The film is essentially a parody of Charlie's Angels. Its full of cliché moments, corny lines and predictable plots. If your expecting an award winner, you wont find one. But if your looking for something fun, with beautiful actors, action and lesbian romance, then its a good film to pass the time with.
Hard to enjoy
I enjoyed the books. I know that no movie or show based off of books are nearly as good, so I will not rate this compared to the books, but as a stand alone show.
The acting is beyond dreadful, the lines are cheesy and the plot is very rushed. As always if you love fantasy shows with magic, demons, and such, you might overlook everything else and enjoy it for what it is.
Simple but enteraining
I'm a little confused from all the bad reviews, but everyone has different taste when is comes to what they enjoy in a show.
Jennifer Connely is amazing as always, if she was not apart of the cast, Snowpiercer would not be worth watching, she is the best actress on the show. The lead actor isn't the best, he has his moments but someone much better should have been chosen for the role. The storyline is simple, don't expect great twists and turns, but even in its simplicity it catches your attention to watch more. Yes, most of the entire show is very unrealistic, but as is most sci fi shows. Snowpiercer might not win any awards, but its very entertaining to waste time with.
Warrior Nun (2020)
Nuns fighting demons, what more do you need?
It is as the commercial promises, nothing less and nothing more. Weather or not you like this show is based on your personal taste.
The cast and the acting is top notch, especially Alba Baptista, it's the one thing that really captivates the viewer. Because the main lead is a 19 year old, the series does have a coming of age story to it, creating teen drama and dialogue that follows. The visuals, costumes, filming, shoot locations are very stunning and captivating. The story could have been better written with more focus on the main plot, instead of very drawn out character development. The over all thought of Good vs evil, Heaven against hell, nuns/ppl fighting demons is a very over used storyline. I kept thinking about the shadow hunter books finding parallels in many cases of this series. But even though its very cliché, there's enough to it that keeps you drawn to watch more.
Season one was good, but with where is suddenly ended, I'm excited to see where season two will take us. It has much potential to be better then the first.
I, Tonya (2017)
Fascinating, but dreary
The story of I Tonya is a hard story to swallow, knowing that its true, draws the watcher right in. Its an entertaining tale thats hard to believe is true, but not one that will leave you with a good feeling at the end. The acting is spot on, the script flows nicely, and the filming is great. But the film is essentially one depressing movie to view.
The Natural (1984)
Way To Slow Paced
The only reason this film is worth watching, is the cast, Robert Redford, Glenn close, Robert Duvall, Kim Basinger, and Barbara Hershey, all great actors that bring life to this film and keep you wanting to watch more of them. The movie itself drags on as the simple storyline takes place over 138min, it's way to slow making you bag for it to end. You know from the start that Robert Redford is a great player, it's agonizing to watch him slowly get recognized by everyone else; as the ending is predicated from the start.
In America (2002)
Bad, Just Bad. Really Low Budget
I thought this move would be really cute and heart warming, about a family trying to make it in America. Instead I found a movie that is filmed very poorly, the acting is terrible and the storyline is so simple that it leaves you bored. The story is also very unrealistic, as it's almost impossible to get a job if you don't have proper ID of being a citizen; life as an illegal immigrant would be much harder then depicted in this film.
The Big Wedding (2013)
Seeing the cast for the film, I truely thought this would have to be a good comedy. I love all of these actors in so many other movies, they are extremely telented, so how could this be a bad film? Why not give it try? The movie was terrible! The best word to describe it is awkward and cringe worthy. There is no heart or chemistry with any of the cast. Each scene is very hollow and far from funny. Almost every scene seems to have something involving sex, instead of causing a comedic affect, it conpletely messess up the flow of each scene and makes it weird. The movie is filled with clichès and absolutely no depth.
The Gambler (2014)
The film is centered around a man and his distructive behavior toward himself, that includes gambling. Its very slow and gloomy with a simpilistic plot that has little action and no heart. The only good thing about the film is Mark Walberg, as he masters the role of Jim, his acting never disappoints. Not a film worth viewing twice.
Red Planet (2000)
Simple But Good
There's not very many space movies out there, especially good ones, so you can't be too picky when you find one.
The nice thing about Red Planet, is that they try and make it realistic to an extent. The storyline is simple, but in making it simple it causes the show to feel more relatable and real. The CGI graphics are terrible, but they did a great job in making Mars look real. The most enjoyable part of this film is the cast. I loved seeing all the familer faces of good actors that brought this movie to life.
Almost a Bad Parody, But Not Quite
Terrible lines, bad filming, predictable, corney and extra cheesy. The only nice thing about this movie is seeing some familiar actors, but with what they were given to act with, it puts them to shame and makes their parts laughable.
Darkest Hour (2017)
Wow, Gary Oldman's performance as Churchill was astonishing! The movie was amazing as it showed you the tremendous hardships and obstacles that Churchill delt with in such a critical time. I loved every moment of this film as it dipicted this topic with such clarity. What might seem like a boring subject to be entertained by for two hours, its actually quite facinating and very intense. The filming was beautifully done, followed by a great cast and a perfectly written script.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Please end this franchise
Bigger is not better. The reason Terminator part one and two were so good, is that the story was simple. A machine trying to kill a person. It was down to earth and felt real. They had witty lines and great acting. The New terminator movie, Dark Fate is absolutely garbage compared to the original. The bad guys are un reasonably hard to kill. The entire movie is basically CGI and it looks awful. Theres way to many long drawn out fighting scenes that are useless, becuase the new terminator is impossible to kill. There are all these big filler scenes that make everything completely unrealistic and just bore you to death. On top of that, there's no original story to it. They've taken the same story and twisted it a little making it beyond predictable and boring. Theres no heart to this film or self discovery of a great character. Please, stop making terminator movies, your rubbing the name through the dirt.
Casa de los babys (2003)
The message of the film is an excellent one that could have made a great movie, but instead this film was done so poorly that it became difficult to view.
The filming is terrible! extremely low budget quality. Most of the movie is in subtitles as they speak Spanish, making it exhausting to follow along. The scenes with the woman are very simple and way to long as they basically gossip or talk about themselves. You get to learn about the hardships of the people in the country; woman who have to give up their child, a woman who has given up their child, a child without parents and even the men's point of view. But in showing these things, it's basically all summed up in a couple of poorly written conversations, instead of actually filming and showing this to a full extant. The abrupt ending to the film did not leave you with a satisfied feeling. Especially after learning how messed up the American woman who are adopting these baby's, the majority of them should not be allowed to adopt.
The Banger Sisters (2002)
Great Leads, Funny Moments.
It might not be a deep movie and its extremely predictable, but it's funny! I love the dramtic change in Sudan Sarandon character, it really shows the depth of how good of an actress she is. Goldie Hawn is funny and fun as always, bringing her charm to the film. I love seeing the two leads together, this movie is an easy going show that's full of light moments to make you laugh. It also brings a solid message of being true to who you are.
Battlestar Galactica (2004)
A Must See For Sci Fi Lovers
If you Love Sci Fi movies or series about space , spaceships and great action, this is the series for you.
At first glance Battlestar Galactica might look like it's a lower budget series, it's filmed with a shaky camera that makes the show look like less quality, but please don't let that stop you from giving it a try.
The acting is top notch, the storylines and plots are extremely interesting, it draws you right in and makes you want to discover more. The relationships are intriguing and the writers really knew what they was doing when they made the script. Everything about this show other then how it's filmed is a masterpiece!
Bringing Down the House (2003)
Steve Martin and Queen Latifah are in their full element as they Bring Down the House with laughter. It might not be a top notch comedy or one to remember for the books, but it's an easy going move that might make you laugh here and there. It is filled with lots of crude humor and it's a little racist, but most comedies are.
Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
Compared To the Book, This Movie Is Rubbish
In all honesty, you may or may not like this film. It all depends what your expectation are and what you are looking for.
Everyone knows, the books are literally a woman's fantasies about BSDM sex, so please do not expect this movie to be something sweet and cute like most love stories
If I was to rate the movie based only on the movie and not the book, it's a shallow, poorly written, mediocre acting film that's much better then the normal porno, but it's more something to waist time with. You can't expect wonders from it, It's not the Notebook, but it's not the worst thing in the world either. A bit of sex, some BSDM, and a messed up love story. No one dies, or is brutally beaten, people have exaggerated a little too much on the movie.
Now, If I was to rate the movie based from the books, this is a load of garbage. Fifty shades is supposed to have fifty personalities that he shifts to and from quite dramatically, but in this movie, fifty is just one thing, brooding. There is no depth to the character and the acting is beyond poor. Same with Anastasia, the actress has played the part so poorly that it's infuriating. They have cut out so many important scenes or have slightly rewritten them so that you do not understand the characters like they are shown in the book. Even the sex scenes are so poorly done compared to the books, they were so much better and showed that fifty was all about trust and finding connection with Anna. Yes fifty liked to punish his subs in the book, but he also made it very clear to Anna what she would be getting into. Because he did not want to take advantage of her. Where in the movie this is shown more like he is a predator. In all honesty in the books, it's Anna that's really messed up with her thinking, where as fifty is a broken character that grows and develops into something better.
The movie has shamed the book, it did not do it justice.
The Boys (2019)
So Messed Up
Wow, never in a million years did I think I would see a tv show where the superheroes are actually the bad guys in an R rated version. The series is very twisted and like nothing you've seen before. But because it's so twisted and well written that's what draws you right in to keep watching.
Person of Interest (2011)
Interesting and Well Put Together
The storyline and plot of the series is a very fascinating and interesting one. They did a great job in bringing it together with amazing actors, great storyline's within each episodes and large over all plots that keep you on your toes.
The later seasons are better and more interesting when they bring on Shaw and Root; along side bigger and better plots. I do feel that someone better could have been chosen to play the part of Lionel, he wasn't a very strong character and maybe even an unnecessary one.
The series does have it's up and downs where it gets boring here and there, and some relationships should not have existed while others should have been expended more. The last season was rushed and quickly put together as they tried to sum up all the loose ends, it was okay, but could have been much better if the series wasn't canceled.
Overall it's a good cop, action, thriller series compared to most. I would defiantly recommend it if that's the kind of genre you're into.
Love Hate Relationship
It's hard to figure out what exactly to say about this series. I can't seem to figure out if I like this show or if I hate it.
The series is very cleverly written along with Joe's point of view to everything, it's beyond twisted that it becomes intriguing. The way Joe thinks and how he reacts to things, is quite fascinating, but the real thing that catches your attention, is that you get to hear his thoughts. Yes, I've seen characters like him before in other movies, but I've never heard their thinking explaining, why they do what they do.
The first season defiantly caught my attention. The way it ended infuriated me and made me loose complete interest in the show. But, I decided to give season two a chance. The beginning was hard to watch as I was still upset about the last season. But as the second season progressed It got much better, making me admit that it was in fact better then season one.
The acting of the cast in the series was top notch. Penn Badgley made this series through and through. The way he can look so innocent with his eyes and facial expressions made you saying "wow, this guy is good". He is a great actor with lots of talent that he really pours into his character Joe.
One of the biggest things that was extremely annoying was the way the show was filmed. The camera is clear in the middle, but blurry around the edges to almost make it look like an eyes view. It's very weird and I find distracting. It really makes you focus on the center of the shot and not the edges.
All in all, the storyline, plot and especially the character of Joe is all extremely twisted and messed up. As events unfold it's very hard to figure out if this is a likable series or way too twisted for me.
Daddy's Home (2015)
Funny, Average Comedy
The best way to describe this movie is, average. A PG comedy that's easy going, predictable and might make you laugh. It's not bad, and it's not awesome either, just something to waste time with that might make you laugh, wont make you feel bad and you probably wont remember the next day.
If you're a big fan of Mark Walberg or Will Farrell, you'll probably enjoy this film. Mark is showing off his muscles more then ever. Will, still acting the stupid helpless guy. All in all, a good time waster movie.
Great Spin Off From Buffy
A great spin off from Buffy. If you are a Buffy fan you must watch this! Angel, Wesley and Cordelia are originally shown in the first three seasons of Buffy, you get a good sense of who Angel is along with the others. But with this series, the writers really dive into Angel's past as you get to fully discover this character and see some serious development in other characters such as Cordelia and Wesley.
Angel is filled with cheesy humor, along side the dark and evil creatures lurking in Los Angeles. The cast is great, they couldn't have chosen anyone better then David Boreanaz, Alexis Denisof, Charisma Carpenter, Andy Hallett and Amy Aker. The episodes are filled with interesting stories, funny moments, cheesy lines and lots of heart.
At the start of the series and as it progresses there are lots of cross over characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I would Highly recommend that you watch both shows, starting with Buffy.
Stranger Things (2016)
I Didn't Know It Was Possible To Make Something This Good
When I first started watching this, I thought it was way too dark, but then I gave it another shot and fell in love.
The series is filled with great references to classic movies that make up the core of great television. Stranger Things is filled with many good twists and great mystery's. It has a great Stephan King, Steven Spielberg's feel to it making the series an absolute must see. The humor throughout the entire show is a perfect touch to help lighten the mood, as its mixed in with some dark horror. I love that the show is set in the 80's, bringing back the memory of all those great 80's movies while creating a great atmosphere. There's also a perfect x-men vibe to the series to make it even better, creating the illusion of the comic book fact that "Anything can happen".
Russian Doll (2019)
Entertaining and Yet Boring
The start was slow and took awhile for me to get into it, but once it picked up and the main character realized she was repeating the day it got better. The humor in the series was the most entertaining part of the entire thing. There was a nice plot twist to the show compared to most usual movies that use this "Ground Hog Day" storyline.
It was hard to see Natasha Lyonne play the part of Nadia after seeing her act the great role of Nicky on Orange is the New Black. I found the character Nadia very annoying and really dumb.
It's an entertaining series that keeps you watching, but it does have flaws.
