Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser (2015)
This has to be in my top 2 of worst films ever!!!!
This movie was horrendous from start to finish. There were a few moments that were endearing/funny, but overall sickening. The disgusting jokes could have been funny if they had been a one liner but they went on for several minutes. The worst by far was a incestuous popcorn scene. Honestly, I would be ashamed if I were Mark McGrath. I still want to throw up thinking about it. I remember the original being somewhat raunchy but endearing. This movie was just a disgusting mess and I wish I could have my time back and any memories relating to it burned from my mind. It's hard to believe any of the actors wanted to be a part of this pure filth.
Turning Red (2022)
First Pixar movie I've disliked
I'm normally a huge fan of Pixar. There hasn't ever been one that I haven't enjoyed. The movie did not feel like Pixar, it felt like I was watching anime with CGI. The animation felt like a mix of Disney and cartoon network, and it lacked the magic that makes Pixar films special. There were a few spots that made me laugh and that I found endearing, but overall I wish I could have gotten my time back.
Christmas Wedding Planner (2017)
Tortured artist steals the show
While the movie was already a masterpiece, Scharl's tortured artist character is a shining star and a prominent reason to watch the movie. You'll never see the twist coming.
Fleabag (2016)
Don't understand the appeal at all
I don't understand how this show is adored by so many. I loved Miranda and was hoping it would be funny like that show. I just couldn't imagine spending anymore of my time watching someone who seems to be such a horrible person. If it had been funny like Veep, for example, then maybe I could have gotten into the show, but since it wasn't I won't be giving the show any more watch time.
Chicken Little (2005)
Doesn't deserve all the hate.
I've always enjoyed Chicken Little. The animation is certainly not a he best, and it might not even be up there with the he majority of Disney movies, but it's still a cute and funny film. I'll never understand the hate it gets.
Grace and Frankie (2015)
Without a doubt... Amazing!
This show has quickly become one of my all time favorite shows. The cast is amazing and has wonderful chemistry. I really appreciate that the writers have been able to show that you can have a mature show with unbelievable writing without having a ton sex and nudity. Honestly, the way the show has handled telling stories about a gay couple is how I wish that Transparent had handled telling trans stories. Grace and Frankie has done an amazing job all around and if you haven't seen it yet, start now!
The Holiday Calendar (2018)
Cute but the lead character is too annoying to root for.
Kat Graham is beautiful, but I found her character to seem too stuck up to root for. The premise of the movie is cute though.
Saved by the Bell (2020)
Really terrible
The original show was not amazing by any standards but it had a fun feel to it. The original was very campy and sitcom-y with having a laugh track, but the reboot doesn't have that and so when it's cheesy and there's no laugh track it feels incredibly awkward. The show feels like they were trying to steal bits and pieces of the original but then they got tired and decided to turn it into glee without the music. The show feels lost in what it wants to be. I think it needs to either decide to be campy and more of a sitcom or even more of a parady which is what it appeared to be at the beginning of the episode, or else be more of a drama. I say this because the show feels dramatic for the most part but then suddenly it'll get campy, like they're trying to be funny and then it instantly gets awkward because it's all over the place. Super disappointed in what I saw and wish they wouldn't have used the name Saved By the Bell unless they were actually going to lean into the humor more.
