Thalapathi (1991)
10/10
Cult Classic!
1 August 2018
Back in the days when Maniratnam's direction and story telling was at his best, delivering back to back classics. Thalapathi was one among them.Star cast like Superstar Rajnikanth,Mammootty,Arvind Swamy makes this movie an unforgettable experience. What can a mere mortal like me describe the tunes of the god,the Isaignani and the maestro Illayraja but to melt in his music in a bliss.

I love those movies which puts me in a moral dilemma have answers that satisfies me like this movie does. Do you choose a friend who defies law and stand with people who are deprived or your family which is lawful and good? This movies asks and answers it with perfection. It has lot of scenes to talk and learn from for the generations to come. That famous temple scene gives me chills everytime I watch it. Take a bow Maniratnam,Ilayraja and Rajni sir

Cinema at its peak driven by world class legends
1 August 2018
World class performance of Kamal and Maniratnam PC Sriram Ilayaraja combo's magic makes this movie an emotional, visual and musical masterpiece. This movie is the product of India's finest actor,Director,Cinematographer and Music Director. It is a natural tendency to compare movies of this genre to Godfather as it set the benchmark.I am a huge fan of Godfather trilogy and can proudly say that this movie paralleled and in some cases surpasses godfather in narrative, performance and visuals.I would not like to spoil anything about this movie.Do yourself a favor and watch this to experience the best of those legends.

Mahanati (2018)
10/10
A masterpiece worth of all its praise
11 May 2018
A biopic about a Mahanati(The great actress) who lived as a queen and worshiped by many people for her benevolence and magic on silver screen. This biopic is filled with emotions that I was speechless after it is completed.I still cant get out of that setting. The cinematography, screenplay and direction Mahanati is literally an art.Nagaswin is such a gem of a director.People criticized when Heath Ledger was picked as Joker and Ben Affleck as Batman but it is proven every time that Only a true visionary knows how to pick the best cast for a movie and guess what Nag aswin did it again.I didn't witness Savithri garu on screen but Keerthy Suresh made a permanent imprint in my mind such that I can only see Savithri in her from now on.A Must Watch.

Good emotional drama spoilt by its reviews
19 February 2018
I don't dislike this movie and at the same time I dont think it is a path breaking experience and questions society as I have seen in some reviews.Though it is high on emotions, the ratings, and the beginning 20 mins are highly misleading.Heck even the storyline present in imdb is misleading. The protagonist as said in that storyline does not take hard on people instead she is amicable and playful which is a huge let down for me because I was misled by its ratings and initial 20 minutes.I wanted her to be rebellious and question the perception of majority. The movie doesn't put forward a moral and critical question but instead gives a lament message which it does very well indeed.I don't know why people think otherwise and say that their perception is changed. If this movie came 10-15 years before I may have agreed with that statement.Because if you had a contradicting perception before I don't know how do you fit in 21st century. Is this movie a new attempt and is never tried before?Yes but isn't as courageous as I have expected. Now coming to the positives the emotional thread of protagonist is well executed and the actress who did it is amazing.I don't want to spoil too much but the life of lead character is shown very well with little diversions here and there. There are some flaws in other characters but it is acceptable if you overlook it.These are my opinions about the movie.Avoid falling for its high ratings and reviews and enjoy the emotional drama and exceptional performance of the lead character.

BoJack Horseman (2014–2020)
10/10
The most relatable main character...
31 October 2017
Bojack Horseman is one of the most brilliant shows I have ever seen. It's witty, clever and heck it is also very depressing. Some episodes made me feel like choking with guilt. The characters are excellently voice acted and I liked Aaron Paul's voice of Todd Chavez.I love to see a happy ending for Bojack which may not happen any time soon :( .Animal puns are too clever and find myself laughing every time.I request everyone not to miss this gem of an animated show and watch it now.The main character Bojack...Horseman obviously is so relatable. This story tells you that money doesn't bring happiness nor any thing in life,It is to be accepted, experienced within you. Can't wait to re watch it and break into tears.

A roller coaster ride of Love
12 July 2017
After watching this movie like, for a 1000 times I have decided to write a review and what I feel towards one of the best classic love stories of Telugu film industry. This movie still remains as a masterpiece and a textbook to Classic Love stories in TFI.To start with it is actually a remake of Kollywood movie with the same name starring Vijay,Jyothika.Powerstar PawanKalyan who was in his best form and giving back to back blockbusters decided to remake this movie which was a huge hit in Tamil.Story starts with a cutest scene of the movie in which two cute babies smiling at each other and trying to shake their hands. This scene is accompanied by the melodious background score by Manisharma who is the master in doing that.Destiny makes them meet after they grow up and study in the same college.Siddu(PK) and Madhu(Bhoomika) together help their friend's relation.Later,Siddu and Madhu will be together for some time and later break up for an issue which you have to see it in the movie and at the end they reunite swaying over their ego which is the cause of this whole mess. This story works so well because of the dynamic between those two main characters Siddartha Roy(PawanKalyan) and Madhumathi(Bhoomika Chawla).Talking about the cast,You only care about these two characters. You would feel empathy for them whenever they are away and miss each other. You cannot escape from the charisma of PawanKalyan and his magical smile. He carried his character(Siddu)with such an ease. "Nuvvu gudumba satthi garu kaavochu thokkalo satthi garu kaavochu but I don't care because I am Siddu Siddartha Roy" Not to mention the beautiful Bhoomika Chawla who did a candid role Madhumathi.Screenplay of SJ Surya is fantastic.Music and background score by Manisharma is a major highlight which scintillates throughout the movie and that album is still one of my most favorite albums.Cheliya Cheliya,Ammaye sannaga,Ye mera jahaa are my top picks.Cinematography by P.C Sreeram is the major asset which stands as top in those times. If you didn't watch this movie and you like love stories what are you waiting for?Go and watch now!If you watched this already go and watch again as it never become old.I hope to see a Kushi type love story near future.
