Unfortunately this promising premise has gone to waste. Poor character development; why does Brandon go bad? His parents are not so different than the Kents (could have been bad parenting, negligent parents, abusive ones, etc.); he does not suffer anything at school, only a mild laughing at drives him to this; no time spent for him to discover his powers at all (could have been exhilarated by his powers); take the world is just a side note, could have worked on it; and so on and so forth.
This idea has been worked better in Smallville, where he tries to fight off these issues. I know this is not Kal-el, but must be of similar make.
This Is Us (2016)
This show is so incredibly real. All the characters are deeply created, they all make you cry, laugh, feel, love, crawl, break, and all the feels you have ever or never felt. The story is so good, no exxagrations (except Jack, how can a man be so super human?). I have never seen anything so down to earth and so close to my heart. Great job.
The Big Lebowski (1998)
What is so brilliant?
This movie has been on my to watch list for a loonng time. I wish it stayed that way. Lots of people told me it was a brilliant film, but I don't see anything brilliant about anything.
Lots of simpletons, good for nothings, fake German and Italian accents, making fun of nihilists, pacifists, artists without any point? Lots of curses, f.. This f... That.... Simplistic scenario. Lots of characters doing nothing. Bowling??? So what? I laughed at 2 or 3 scenes thar is all.
No wit in dialogues or jokes. Everything predictable. Brutish sexual, physical jokes.
I have never been disappointed like this. Not offending the people that like or see something in this, I am just not one of them.
Black Mirror: Striking Vipers (2019)
This is not Black mirror at all
Nothing in this episode says Black Mirror. The game mechanics is stupid, the details scattered throughout are meaningless, too simplistic.
Shingeki no kyojin: Hero (2019)
Although I read the manga and knew everything about to happen they made me get excited. Perfect animation, music, direction and fight scenes.
Keep up the good job.
Everything about GoT is lost in this episode, except for Arya and the Hound. The writers clearly have no idea about the storyline; they have horrible ideas of strategy and tactics. Someone needs to send them a book of battle tactics.
The Silence (2019)
Beyond terrible, waste of time
How could these actors accept this horrible script? The writers don't know what "sound" means apparently. No need to write more about it because just listing the mistakes would take 8 or 9 pages.
At Eternity's Gate (2018)
The film is disturbing in ways many people complain, but instead of being discouraged by that, I was intrigued. The dialogues are simple, everyday dialogues anyone could have, humanising Van Gogh, and clearly making his anguish more relatable. The camera angles and blurry vision is so peculiar and so Van Gogh. The running around, silent parts and hopping hand held cameras made it disturbing, because it leaves the audience alone with the film. This is a great way to portray his loneliness, and that is what disturbs many people; not everyone can handle such immense, engulfing loneliness. And the acting. Willem Dafoe is exceptional. You can see and feel his loneliness and pain in his eyes, face, his whole body and demeanor.
The Kominsky Method (2018)
Perfect. Funny, witty, dramatic all at the same time.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Way abpove my expoectatipons
I started this with a sense of nostalgia and did not expect much but it got me going and finished it at one sitting. The characters are reminiscent of the original saga and the plot is good with flashes of reoccurences.
Boku no ita jikan (2014)
The subject of the series intrigued me very much but I had not at first anticipated it to be this good to be honest. It is plain and simple but beautiful beyond measure. The emotions are conveyed on a personal level, you can feel and understand each character and be happy and sad with them. It is very sad, and you will cry definitely, but it is very natural, it will not be one of those series where they force you to cry. In his despair and bad fortune he also finds love, and an inextinguishable will to live. The shooting is beautifully done as well. The camera angles do not force you into people's faces trying to jerk tears from you, the lighting is perfect and the soundtracks are incredibly well placed. I would like to thank the whole crew and cast for this wonderful undertaking. Thank you for introducing us to Takuto.
Death Note (2017)
It is really difficult to turn the masterpiece that is Death Note into this unimaginative, unsuccessful, cheap, and the thousands of pejoratives I cannot write down here. I will not go into details but they somehow managed to wreck every single beautiful thing about the original. This should be taught at movie departments under the title "How not to make a film." What were the Netflix guys thinking?
