It's been almost 4 years since Game of Thrones ended.

In all truth, Game of Thrones had lost it's path after Season 4 ended. That's where the showrunners had stopped caring for the source material and had decided that they can write a better story than the creator himself.

What followed Season 4 was a noticeably weaker season. Season 5 was nothing compared to what the first 4 seasons of Thrones had been.

After S5, came Season 6 and it was a vast improvement on S5. It looked like things were back on track again and we could only go up from there. Upto this point, Game of Thrones still 'felt' like Game of Thrones, even though it was no longer in it's prime. But the essence of Thrones was still intact in the first 6 seasons of GoT.

Things turned sour when they announced that the 7th Season, the penultimate season of Thrones will have only 7 episodes. This did not make an iota of sense as there was still years worth of content that needed adapting. Who in their right minds would rush the most critically and commercially successful TV Show in history?

As you can already guess, the negative effects of this decision to rush the show were glaring just after the 2nd episode of S7. The quality of writing plummeted. Everything that was a positive about Thrones took a nosedive. In short, everything turned to garbage.

After this, they announced that the final season of Game of Thrones will have just 6 episodes. Yes, the story with the biggest scope in the history of television was deemed worthy of a 6 episode conclusion. S7 might've been a nightmare, but this final season was something else entirely.

There's no way to describe how atrociously bad it was. Years worth of build up and character arcs were ruined in a span of a few hours. Everything that once was great was ruined.

The final season of Thrones was written so incompetently that you'd think a drooling infant must've written the script. It was a bad, bad joke. Everything that had been built over the course of a decade fell apart. And here I am years later, still bitter about it and this bitterness isn't going anywhere.

If there's one thing that remained consistently good about GoT, it was Ramin Djawadi's music. And maybe the special effects. And that's about it.

The worst thing about it all is that the ending is so bad, it's killed all the rewatch value of the series. You just can't go and watch it and take anything seriously when you know how it all ends. Nothing that happens in this story is meaningful when you know how everything ends. All the major events and storylines, you know they're just there as fillers because the writers are not going to care for them in the end. The ending is so, so bad that it's rendered the whole journey useless.

As the title says, the show itself is a tragedy, just like it's story. The story left you heartbroken, unfulfilled. And that's exactly what this show does, too. If I could go back in time before I started watching this series and a time traveller told me just how bad the ending is going to be, I will not bother with it.

The original trilogy is perfect. On Stranger Tides gets a lot of unnecessary hate. It was alright.

It didn't mess with the lore of the original films. It didn't ruin the characters of Jack and Barbossa. It works perfectly well as a standalone film. And did I mention how fun and entertaining it is to watch?

Dead Men Tell No Tales did all the things I mentioned above that On Stranger Tides didn't do. Messed with lore established in the original films. Turned Jack into a sodden, blathering and incompetent drunkard. Took Barbossa's character in a direction it didn't need going. And it was not entertaining and fun at all.

This movie simply shouldn't exist. The soundtrack is the only redeeming quality of this movies.

I wanted to like this movie, I really did. But I was let down. It's over the top and pretentious, needlessly convoluted for a movie that's supposed to be a sequel to a rather very simple animated adventure movie made for children. I had no intentions of watching it, given that I'm a little too old for it now and no longer the target audience but I went ahead anyway because I'd seen the first one in my teens some 8 years ago.

The movie was all over the place, it lacked direction. They could've done what they did with the original and told a simple story without all the bland side characters and everyone would've loved it way more.

Instead what we got was a really poor sequel that'd forgotten what the movie is supposed to be: a fun animated movie for kids that's easy to follow and doesn't bore you to sleep with all the nonsense 'lore' that they put in there. A wasted sequel which is such a shame because it took 6 years to come out.

I went in with zero expectations, given how the main series had ended. But by the time the end credits started rolling, I was very happy with what I'd seen.

This series doesn't seem to have the budget constraints that the early seasons of GoT suffered from so no complaints in the CGI department.

Besides that, the performances from the actors were great. The dialogue was (surprisingly) very good. Something GoT had stopped caring for in the later seasons. Everything was knit tightly together.

I don't know where the series will go from here but this premiere was very good.

Game of Thrones is back. Not much to say about it except that it was a pretty good premiere. It doesn't feel like a filler like last year's premiere where they introduced everything all over again. It was well paced. Some may complain about it. Well, that's understandable. There wasn't any action in the episode since it is only the start. But even for a start, it did a good job in kicking off some of the major events that are about to come. Sets everything right in it's place. The upcoming episodes will make the move.

Don't really care about the comics? Go for it. It's a pretty good movie. Better than the first two IM movies in many ways, especally in terms of developing Tony Stark as a character. You'll see a lot of hate for this movie out there. Well, that comes from hardcore comic book fans as this movie deviates from the comics. But if you don't care for the comics, I don't see any problem with it. Enjoy!

Lots of people out there saying this episode was disappointing and all that. Don't believe any of it, the episode was pretty good. If you loved almost every other GoT episode, you are gonna like this one, too. It has a different feel to it because a lot of storylines ended in Season 5 and it pretty much starts off as a new experience. Some old favourites are absent. The episode is a bit slow in pace but what else to expect from a premiere? It is the start of an entire season, can't expect action in the beginning. It starts right off where the last season left. All in all, this was a good premiere to what will probably be a great season.
