The villains, and the comedic subplot, do lack believability, but the main story is really worth sticking around for. I loved it.

Simple, but beautiful

There's something about this short film which really captured my interest. I think, upon reflection, it is the fact that so much is left unsaid -- only the bare bones are supplied, and we have to imagine a great deal. For me, that works very well.
I have the thought that this film might be the sort of escape fantasy many teenagers might yearn for, stuck as many are in lives which seem bereft of hope.
The actors are excellent, and though the story does not surprise overmuch, it is still executed very well. Creating a sci-fi film in such a prosaic location particularly impressed me; more special effects would have spoiled the matter-of-fact environment in which the events take place.
In short, I loved it, and I will go back to it again whilst it is on Amazon Prime.
