Arcane (2021– )
10/10
Real miracle of modern animation
25 February 2023
If you came here for a professional breakdown of the first season, with technical terms and whatnot, you'd better finish reading right away, as I created this review for the sake of saying "Thank you!" Being a huge cartoon fan, I've tried not to miss any major feature releases, not forgetting the wonderful animated series of the 90s, two of which were produced by the same woman as Arcane. With the advent of online services, it's become harder to keep track of this stuff, especially if your head isn't busy looking for news about it. Naturally, Disney used to be the boss, but when Pixar released their Toy Story, it became clear who would be making the most up-to-date animation for years to come, not forgetting the quality of the script. And so, every year we all took technical progress for granted and no longer noticed how the environment slowly became very realistic. And suddenly, out comes Soul, which, like the fourth Harry Potter movie, divides into before and after, starting already inside the picture. After that, things got worse and worse, for me personally, and the studio stopped being quality guarantors.

Meanwhile, I saw excerpts from Arcane and it just blew my mind. It looked like the animators of the Spider-Man Into the spider verse decided to make the cutscenes for Dishonored 2 or Darksiders 2 (those are games) and it came out awesome. It's just pure fun to look at the work that was done by the 3D animators and artists, who on top of every frame brought everything to perfection. The same goes for the design of all the characters, especially the two sisters, whose attitudes feel even on the other side of the screen, evoking the strongest emotions.

I want to thank: every last person who was directly involved in the creation of the first season, the founders and the top management of Riot Games, as well as all the devoted League of Legends fans who made this project come to life and for whom it was of the highest quality. I wasn't interested in the game before and I'm not interested now - it's not my genre, but I'm glad that there are people in the company who care not only about making money, but also about the fans' joy of side things. I recommend that all animation fans run out and watch the entire 5.5 hours of the first season (not including the credits). To anyone who doesn't like it, I can say the following: "Go read books, that's your level of perception."

The Planets (2019)
10/10
Brilliant documentary

Advanced computer graphics based on the latest accurate data collected over the years of the space program allowed us to contemplate simply breathtaking (really breathtaking, and not like Keanu Reeves), the spirit of the picture of the formation of space and space objects that can be seen at the moment. This is a great example of how to present information in astronomy classes at school. In the process of viewing in Blu Ray, I made about 70-80 screenshots, which I uploaded and distributed by series. I hope their viewing will really interest you to join the magnificent 5-episode documentary about the Planets, because it's better to see it once than read it many times.

The Hunt (II) (2020)

You must see this bloodbath

Best 2020 movie! Unexpected twists, cool action, a sea of blood, dismemberment, funny jokes, cool female characters (and not as in the last Ghostbusters) - everything is here. I think that if the script was not written by Tarantino, but only directed, the movie would have looked 90% like that!
