The Hills Have Eyes (2006)
Save your money, rent the DVD if you must see it
What a disappointment. Complete garbage, an utter waste of time and money.
--Just gore, no suspense
--Really bad, unbelievable "mutants". Hello latex.
--So much gore that it didn't take long to become numb to it. Ho hum, more red splatter.
--Family was SO freaking annoying that you couldn't WAIT for them to get it (except the baby, who didn't have enough personality to be annoying)
--The people who think this was a great horror flick must be really, really young or haven't seen too many horror flicks
Saw II (2005)
A waste of $8.50 (may contain spoilers)
What a disappointment! No real characters ... No real plot ... No real suspense ...no, dare I say it, elegance ....
Just like any teen slasher movie, a whole lot of blood, screaming, running around, and rampant stupidity on the part of the "characters" (using the term loosely, because they are all shallow cardboard cutout excuses for gore) Might be big with the teenie set, but anybody with an iota of sophistication will find this film laughable.
We don't care about the characters because there is no character development. They are comic book characters.
There are only two halfway-creative "death scenes".
The movie proceeded along predictable lines. At one point about halfway through the movie I nudged my son and told him that a certain character was not what she seemed. I was right.
There really has not been a truly scary movie made since The Exorcist. And this is no exception to that rule.
