Had a lot of potential
6 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, so here are my thoughts on this film. It is a 7/10.

The comedy bits of the first half were redundant, and really messed up the tone of the film. The ambulance chasing was insane, not in a good way. I also noticed a few bad works of visual effects.

The twists and turns were good, not gonna lie. However, the audience's reaction to Lee Du-Sok as a murderer was not credible, to be honest. No matter how good-looking or guilty you feel, until the truth came out, that guy was believed to be the murderer of 10 women. And how was it actually believable that Lee Du-Sok killed 10 people 15 years ago? He looked way too young.

Had a lot of potential.

Short, cute and sweet
12 July 2023
The best thing about this series is nothing is exaggerated. The acting was just and proper. All of the cast was very natural. The story did not drag for too long. It was light-hearted. The comedy and romance was well balanced. Kang Joon Woo's mysophobia and OCD gave a good touch to the story. The cinematography was great too.

You are looking for a short-watch and cute, you should definitely go for this show. You can finish it within less than two and a half hours. It is available in their official Youtube channel with softcoded English subtitle. I highly recommend it. There is also a sequel to it. Happy watching!

Aren't we all just a bunch of weirdoes...
12 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The name of this anime came to me through many videos called "Funny anime moments" and as such titles in Youtube. And it was in the hard disk of my pc for quite a long time until I finally decided to watch it.

It was unexpectedly good. But I liked the characters more than the plot.

Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou is the daily life story of the people living in the Kawai complex but also it is the story of a teenage boy pursuing his senpai to get closer to her (this is the boring part).

The Kawai Complex is literally the carnival of weirdoes living in. There is Shirosaki, the ultimate definition of a masochist, Mayumi, bad with alcohol and relationships, Sayaka, a university student with a sweet yet sharp tongue, Ritsu, the bibliophile and socially awkward, Usa, the main protagonist and Sumiko, in charge of the boarding house.

As there is not much to say about the story let me write something about the characters.

My most favorite character here is Shirosaki. He is a total masochist, very good with binding things up. His age is unknown but I am guessing mid-twenties. He is a pervert but not a pedophile. He has a strict rule about not getting involved with girls below 18. Though he is more interested in their moms. But inside, he is a very wise and caring guy, very handy with crafting. Always makes things for the boarders to have fun with, mostly I think is to make Mayumi feel better. He used to be a writer too. It was not mentioned what type of books he used to write, but my guess is S&M erotic novels. It's shame his eyes are always covered by his hair. He oddly reminds me of Urahara Kisuke from Bleach.

Mayumi is an office lady, in her late twenties, I assume. She likes alcohol, gets drunk pretty easily, and has bad taste in men. She always torments Usa about his virginity. She is a funny character. Satiu Rina did an amazing job with the voice.

Sayaka is a university student. I didn't like her at all at the beginning. But I loved her when the anime ended. She is very sharp-tonged. Always covered in the makeup. Likes to toy around with men even if she doesn't have any interest in them. She has a cat and mouse relationship with Mayumi which is really enjoyable.

Usa is the main protagonist. He is mad about Ritsu. His only flaw is he is too nice. I can't stand too much niceness. Iguchi Yuuichi did a fine fine job.

Ritsu is the main female protagonist. She is a bibliophile and very unsocial. But she is unbelievably boring. She had the least character development in the anime. On my account of course.

There was an episode about a sexual molester, I loved the episode.

The anime was very funny, mainstream, and easy to follow. If you decide to watch, it won't be a waste of time.

Happy watching.

I don't think there is going to be a second season, so...
8 July 2023
I don't usually rate and review TV series before they are complete, But I don't think there's gonna be a second season. Here are my thoughts:

Some of the nude and sex scenes, especially nude scenes were really unnecessary. Call me whatever you want, but Lily-Rose Depp's wardrobe was really vulgar most of the time. I expected her to be a bad actress, but to my surprise, she wasn't that bad. I am sure she will improve in the future.

Abel's acting was really good. Jennie Kim on the other hand had the emotional expression range of a goldfish. The time she was offered by the label, I was confused about whether she was trying to cry, look surprised, or happy. She gave the same expression when Nikki told her the deal was off. Jennie Kim was just bad, straight up.

The plot had potential. But it was extremely fast-paced and filled with plot holes. And over-sexualizing almost every scene really killed the vibe.

What? It wasn't that bad!
21 June 2023
I mean, Gal Gadot's acting hasn't improved much but the story was enjoyable. Chris Pine was an absolute delight and Pedro Pascal's acting was as expected.

Kristen Wiig's character felt redundant, mostly because there was no development showing her transition from being an awkward scientist to a villain. It was like the script writer flipped a switch or something.

The scene where Diana's wish was renounced definitely could have been and should have been more emotional. I think it would have been if Gal Gadot was a better at acting.

Action scenes were as bad as the first movie.

But overall I don't think the rating is justified. It deserves at least a 6.2 generally.

I expected a Psycho Thriller
2 April 2023
I mean the main antagonist is indeed a serial killer, so why not? It was more like a political drama with some action thriller. The cast was well-chosen and I have no complaints about their acting. I am still not sure what role the CIA plays in the movie. Why are they involved?

Lee Jong Suk's characters have surprisingly few lines throughout the film. I heard he is really shy in real life, but villainous characters really suit him, to be honest. Looking forward to seeing him playing more challenging characters in the future.

I would recommend this film if you prefer something dark and twisted. Happy watching.

Ai no kusabi (1992–1994)

Not a fan of BL but the 90s Ai no Kusabi just hits different
23 January 2023
The 2012's version didn't and couldn't surpass it, even with all the good animation and character design. I have never been a fujoshi, I avoid BL and GL anime almost like my life depends it. But Ai no Kusabi was different. The dystopian setup, unique hierarchy system and my god the ending- the ending lives in my head rent free.

This could've been an amazing sci-fi anime, if it wasn't a BL. Because, you know, BL is always romance focused. I felt bad for Riki. And I fell in love wit Iason Mink. I have a thing for men with long and light colored hair. And this captive, captor romance is my guilty pleasure.

The anime definitely should have an iyashikei tag
6 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's a simple heart-touching story. Little Lars gets separated from his father while he was asleep. Poor thing has to go through a lot before he reaches an island in Africa. There he meets a kind Hippo who takes him to his friend, Drago, an eagle. The journey to Drago was not an easy one. But Lars gets to enjoy so many new things, so many new animals, and foods. And deep in my heart, I felt a little sad for him, because Lars won't be able to do any of it when he gets home. Because though it's his home, the North Pole has nothing but white and snow.

But Lars do get home sound and safe, on the back of an Orca. Now, I was a little worried here cause I was expecting some sort of antagonist. I thought the orca would try to kill him or something. But the orca was a good guy too. In the end, Lars reunites with his dad and tells me all the things about his adventure. It was a happy ending. And I am happy.

Yet, still not enough...
23 December 2022
So many people were missing. I know some of them are really old now. But at least they could get short footage of them in the comfort of their home saying a few words.

Maggie Smith, Emma Thompson, Fiona Shaw, Harry Melling, Michael Gambon, David Thewlis, Timothy Spall, Natalia Tena, Chris Rankin- these people should have been in the documentary.

I really wished Alan Rickman was alive. He was such a huge part of the film. And they did not spoke enough about him. What a shame.

The reason I am keeping a start is because it felt like they sugar coated a lot of things. I mean of course Gary Oldman's children wanted him to take the part. But another driver behind is was Gary was broke.

The hype is not justified
5 August 2022
Chanchal Chowdhury and the acting of the other cast members were outstanding, no doubt in that, and the cinematography was praise worthy. That is the only reason I am giving it a 7.

Here's what I didn't like. It is a story driven movie and the story wasn't that good to be honest. Even if the acting was good, it doesn't really make it up for the in the story.

Sure, such theme is this new for Bangladeshi cinema but to be honest I have seem movies like this and I have seen better.

The ending was not good, there's no sugar coating in that.

But I do appreciate that the directors and script writers are trying new things and getting a good response from the audience. But as a film critic I do think we have a long way ahead of us.

Felt Kinda Rushed
22 June 2022
I had huge expectations for this movie. I thought the movie was going to be something about Mordo as the previous post-credit scene of Doctor Strange hinted. Few things I liked, and a few things I didn't.

I liked watching Wanda at her full potential. I also get where the horror tag comes from. The movie is way gorier than other MCU movies.

After watching Loki and NWH, I thought Doctor Strange will make some links with the big scene, like Age of Ultron, did with Infinity Stone. I clearly still can't fathom what the MCU phase 4 is going to be about.

The fighting scenes were decent. The story felt kinda rushed. I was looking forward to some fun multiverse where we would be able to see what the other superhero becomes to be. This disappointed me a big time.

Not a nice come back.
13 February 2022
But it did make me nostalgic. They did dirty to Samantha, my most favorite character in the show, all because Kim Cattrall refused to come back. I would rather they wrote her dead or something. That would have preserved her image.

An anime with a cute round cat named Poyo
22 December 2021
If not more, Poyo is as cute as his name, the family that adopts him is kinder and more harmonious than any anime family I have seen. Nothing will cheer you more that a good chibi comedy anime like Poyopoyo. The final episode really melt my heart. And my God, Ootani Ikue, what an amazing voice actress you are.

Way Below Average
9 December 2021
I am extremely sorry to say I didn't like it at all. I kind of hated it. And here are some reasons why:

1. Could the characters be any more one-directional? This is one of the major elements that make an anime extremely boring. I have never seen an FL more confused and lame as Ichiko. Not even Hanazawa Kana's angelic voice could hold my attention towards the anime. The last time I saw an anime this boring was Snow White with Red Hair Season 1.

2. Why in the world are the adults acting like teenagers?

3. The 10 years age gap isn't a big deal for me. But falling in love with a 17-year-old, who is still not out of high school, and 10 years younger than me? I don't think I feel very good about the theme at all. How is this okay? Is this a common culture in Japan?

4. The animation is pretty average. It looks kind of hard on the eyes.

The Making Could Have Been Better
12 October 2021
The story was undoubtedly shocking. But it felt like the creator unnecessarily dragged the episodes feeling with almost the same information from friends, families and neighbors about the Bhatia family members. That was really boring.

I mean, yeah, I know they looked like a happy family and no body ever saw them fight or hear any complaints but enough is enough already. We don't need to know about them from everyone that knew them.

What a Letdown
8 August 2021
A Letter to Momo is one of the most popular stand-alone anime movies and yet it was a total letdown for me. The anime was very lengthy. The story was filled with unnecessary details. The three demons were extremely ugly. But that is not even the point. The point is that they were extremely annoying. The animation was average. I have seen way better way many times.

The playing was so slow the 2-hour duration was very hard to pass, at least the first 1.5 hours. I definitely got some 'Spirited Away' vibes from the film. But in quality, it wasn't even close.

I won't recommend this anime.

Thank you for a logical climax
17 June 2021
As someone who has watched both the previous movie, I definitely found this one better. Alicia Vikander in the leading role was spontaneous. Though I am not satisfied with Dominic West. Someone older and more mature would have been a perfect fit.

The beginning of the movie was nice, nothing extraordinary. The cinematography throughout the movie was great. The middle part was kind of boring. But boy oh boy! The ending really hit me hard.

I am glad the main part of the movie is not supernatural. Especially this quote- "They thought it was magic. She was a carrier. She was immune. It's a disease."

If you like movies with an archeological theme, like Indiana Jones, totally recommend it. Happy watching!!!

Bakemonogatari (2009–2010)
10/10
It literally means ghost-story
13 March 2021
Bakemonogatari had been on my 'want to watch' list for quite a long time. And then I decided to watch it for the bingo challenge: Fall 2019 and also there is a badge for finishing this anime( I thought I had to finish all the Motogatari titles to earn the badge. Phew!)

How do I feel about Bakemonogatari? In a sentence it's different, beautiful and I found it unique. Now let's talk in details about it. Shall we?

Story:

At first( I mean for the first episode) everything seemed really confusing. But with time things started to settle in a pattern. Araragi Koyomi is a highschool boy who is a post-vampire( I mean, he was a vampire for some time. Now he is not). He can recognise or sense aberration very naturally and that's how he was familiarised with Senjougahara Hitagi. Koyomi knows a guy named Oshino Meme( Yes, his name is Meme. And I like him) who knows how to deal with these aberrations. Soon Koyomi meets more characters like Hitagi who are suffering from supernatural situations and that is how the story flows.

Animation:

Graphically Bakemonogatari has a different type of animation than other anime clearly. It was different and I loved it. I think this type of art is exactly what this anime needed. The background, the characters, the surroundings, I loved everything.

Sound:

I want to talk about the background music that is played where a bunch of scene is shown with just a bunch of line. The suspense that held that music is praisable.

Character:

Araragi: Or Koyomi, it's his first name. Most the characters are female but the main protagonist is a male. He has an ahoge on his head that moves a lot( I mean a lot a lot). He was once a vampire for sometimes but he is recovered from that. He still has some superpowers though. I liked Araragi more that I thought I would. He is kind of a pervert( the kind a typical teenager is). But doesn't like to admit though. Yes, he is all about saving people and friends but not in the typical way we see in the shounen anime( like screaming how he will definitely save all his loved ones by beating the crap out of the enemy). He just wants to help despite anything. He cares. That's what makes him so great.

Senjougahara: She is my most favourite female character by far. As a woman myself I am always kind of disappointed by the female characters in anime about their character developments being not so great. But I am really happy to find that Senjougahara Hitagi is a really well written character. She is violent, shows almost no emotion on her face and brutally honest. She is the ultimate example of Tsundra( Yes, it's tsundra not Tsundere). The way she confessed was mild blowing. I love her. Chiwa Saito's voice acting added a new dimension to her chilliness.

Hanekawa: She is like the total encyclopedia. She knows everything. But still you will hear her say It's not like I know a lot. I just know what I know. She is a kind character with a pathetic family story.

Hachikuji: A middle schooler hanging around with her schoolbag. Araragi likes to tease and harass her. And she alway mispronounces his intentionally and says she is sorry that she stuttered. I also loved her voice.

Kanbaru: I thought I wouldn't like her. But she came out to be great. And also Miyuki Sawashiro did a really great job.

Oshino Meme: Yes. You are not wrong. HIS NAME IS MEME AND HE IS THE MY MOST FAVOURITE CHARACTER IN THE ANIME(I wrote it in both bold and capital. You better know how musch I admire him). He is kind of an exorcist who has a vast knowledge about spirits, demons and gods. He did mention supernaturality or something was his subject in college. He has a mind blowing confidence and an aura around him which is hard to ignore. He is a laid back, homeless person. He is the one who revived Araragi.

Overall?

I loved this anime and I will definitely finish the whole Monogatari series. I also highly recommend this anime.

Happy watching

The movie wasn't even sad but I felt like crying anyway...
13 March 2021
I won't say I have seen a great deal of anime, but this one was by far the most relatable to life.

Okajima Takea is a 27 year old office lady who visits the countryside on her vacation. On the way to her journey and during her stay in the country, she seemed to recall her 10 year old self again and again. And I can relate to them all. The struggle of having elder siblings, not doing well in the exam and showing silly excuses for that, conservativeness of a typical middle class family, first love confession, first period talk and boys' reaction to it and even mothers have their flaws. I can relate to them all. I was watching the anime and the whole time I was like... it's my story of life. And I hope the decision she made at the end will make her happy and leave her with no regrets. Studio Ghibli has so many good titles and this one, I found, was a hidden gem.

Now for the animation. First let's keep this fact in the mind that the movie is from 1991. The kids from Takea's nostalgia were all cute and the other characters were fine too. But in the present the characters were not sketched well I would say. Especially Takea looked older than her age. But the surroundings were amazing (Nothing less can't be expected from Ghibli, I believe)

I don't have any complains about the characters. They were all very natural.

Nothing of the background sound seemed unnatural. I really really loved the ending song.

Conclusion: I would like to thank Studio Ghibli for such a great movie. And I don't think people will read my review any way But I highly recommend this title.

Happy watching everyone.

The Beginning was really good, end not too much.
23 December 2020
First, the two seasons were really dark (not that I am complaining). The third and final season was really boring. All the hide and seek, catching, and releasing really bore me up. Also, I expected a clean and proper ending. I hated how Will's character developed to be and also it bothers me that he calls Hannibal his friend. Alana Bloom, I hated her in season 2 for being such a blind moron but in season 3 she was a badass. Also, the series is not having any spin-off, then what's the point of a cliffhanger?

It literally means Fake story, I guess?
18 December 2020
Nisemonogatari is the second title of the Monogatari series, release wise of course. First let me say this one is entirely about Koyomi's sisters, Araragi Karen and Araragi Tsukihi AKA the fire sisters. We can divide the whole anime into two parts, where the first one deals with Karen-chan and the second one deals with Tsukihi-chan. Bakemonogatari revealed next to nothing about Koyomi's sisters except that they somewhat existed. But as this series is mostly about them, you'll get to see them plenty.

If you think you have seen enough pervert activities of Koyomi in Bakemonogatari, Honey, you've seen nothing. Both his lolicon and siscon activities really bothered me because I actually kinda like this guy. His perversion knows no bounds. You'll get to see the sweet cute Hachikuji again. Her presence will give you joy (If you like her in the first place. I like her. So I was happy to see her again). Hanekawa will be in the series too. Sadly there was no Meme. You guys have no idea how I missed that guy. But, there will be two new characters, Kaiki Deishuu and Kagenui Yozoru. They are classmates of my beloved Meme-sama. But their presence only made me confused about Meme-sama's age. Because Kaiki looked like he is in his early 40's or late 30's. But I don't want to imagine Meme-sama being above his early 30's. Hmm. He was also the imposter exorcist that Senjougahara went to for her weight loss mystery. Kaiki Deishuu is voiced by Miki Shinichiro. I was again mesmerized by his talent in voice acting.

In the second part, Kageuni Yozoru arrives with her shikigami Ononoki Yotsugi. They are fine people. You will like them. But the last words of Yozoru gave me goosebumps.

I guess I'll end this with something Oshino-kun would never say. Sayonara.

In this anime you will see some action of Shinobu, the golden-haired vampire that lives under Koyomi's shadow (Imagine a vampire living under your shadow. How cool is that?!).

The anime follows the same pattern as the previous one. And Monogatari series has outstanding animation. No comment on that.

I have finished three titles of the Monogatari series by far (Yes, I have seen Nekomonogatari too). And one thing I can guarantee you is that the ending will never disappoint you.

Happy watching.

This anime added something new to the smut romance genre.
18 December 2020
Well, it's practically a soft-core hentai and I never thought I would write a review of an anime of this sort. But this anime really added something new to this genre. A meaning I suppose. Two characters scarred by their partners in the past found a comfort zone with each other's presence and intimacy. This anime is not like the other smut romance anime where the main motto is 'Let's Bang'. There were mainly two actual sex scenes and both with each other's consent. There was no inconclusive consent. And overall I liked this anime.

Enola Holmes (2020)
8/10
I loved it.
24 September 2020
Millie Bobby Brown was amazing. Her cheerful acting as a free, curious, and witty teenager was marvelous. And specifically breaking the fourth wall scenes are the ones that I enjoyed most. Helena Bonham Carter as in the role of mother was very inspiring. Truly mothers like Eudoria Holmes are the kind of role models every daughter needs in every generation. Now to talk about the elephant in the room, the Holmes brothers, none of them met any expectations.

Henry Cavill in the role of Sherlock acted like the typical charming wise-mind detective he is where in this specific movie the more brotherly side of his was needed to be shown. And Mycroft was a total disaster.

Sam Clafin did not suit the role at all. Mycroft is supposed to be calmer, more rational, and wiser than Sherlock. But in this movie, he was shown as a hot-headed, cynical man. Neither the book nor the series character was reflected upon the movie role which was a big disappointment for me.

The story was good so far. It showed feminism in its own way. Except for the Holmes brothers' shortcomings, this movie is a good piece.
