"Crawl" is a fun yet not spectacular horror film with decent CGI.
The Lion King (2019)
"The Lion King" as a copy-paste of the original animated film. That did affect my enjoyment.
Toy Story 4 (2019)
WORTHY FOLLOW UP
Though "Toy Story 3" is a great conclusion to this series, "Toy Story 4" perfectly justifies its existence thanks to its plot, characters, ending, animation, etc. Pretty much a flawless film
Child's Play (2019)
The best word to describe the new "Chils's Play" is "passable".
Deep Impact (1998)
Though not action packed nor heavy with special effects, "Deep Impact" remains effective in one of its genre: drama.
Dark Phoenix (2019)
It's just sad to see that Fox's X-Men films ends with the meh "Dark Phoenix."
"John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" is the most action packed entry in the series. It's better than 2 but not as good as 1.
Great vfx, amazing action scenes and the presence of Millie Bobby Brown are not enough to make up for the dull and boring characters and plot that "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" provides.
Though "Aladdin" (2019) is not the perfection that the animated original is, it still has fantastic visuals, musical numbers (though it involves a lot of walking), acceptable changes (specially Dalia) and the song Speechless to make it a strong movie on its own. Though I would say that Guy Ritchie should be replaced for a sequel.
"Hercules" is not as epic as other adaptations but it makes up for it with Hades, the singing goddesses and an overall adventure, fun-filled tone.
A PERFECT END TO THE RENAISSANCE ERA
"Tarzan" is told, written and animated perfectly! Plus Phil Collins' song is amazing.
While predictable and blandly animated, the songs, female empowerment and Mulan herself make "Mulan" an inspiring film.
Beauty and the Beast (2017)
DEFINITELY A REMAKE
I've never been a fan of the original, which is why I'm not surprised that I did not love "Beauty and the Beast."
Toy Story 2 (1999)
"Toy Story 2" is a huge improvement compared to its predecessor.
Toy Story (1995)
Though I don't love it as much as everyone else, "Toy Story" is still wonderful.
COULD'VE BEEN BETTER
Though there is no denying that the story, pacing and direction could have been miles better, "Dumbo" still manages to charm and delight its viewers
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
I find it odd that "X-Men: The Last Stand," a solid entry in the series, is hated by everyone. It has okay acting and story and really great action scenes.
I'll just say it. "X2: X-Men United" is one of the best superhero movies ever!
BAD 5, GREAT 4
RATING: 8.545. HEADLINE: I LOVE MICHELLE GOMEZ AND KIERNAN SHIPKA (Review date: June 3, 2019)
The really good story aside, Michelle Gomez's Ms. Wardwell and Kiernan Shipka's Sabrina Spellman make the first season of "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" outstanding!
Season 2 RATING: 8.556 HEADLINE: BAD 5, GREAT 4. (Review date: June 3, 2019)
Season 2's first five episodes were a chore to watch, with Ms. Wardwell and Theo's stories being the only highlights, but "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" were saved by the amazing, near-perfect last 4 episodes.
Happy Death Day 2U (2019)
NOT AS FRESH
Though not as fresh and entertaining as its predecessor, "Happy Death Day 2U" is still a solid successor.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Though a slow burn, "Avengers: Endgame" is a satisfying, heart-wrenching and entertaining end (not really an end) to Marvel's 22-film saga.
Captain Marvel (2019)
With a rushed beginning, an okay middle and a pretty good finale, "Captain Marvel" is a movie that's neither good nor bad.
AN EPIC END
Despite being weaker when compared to its 2 predecessors, "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" is still a satisfying finale to this epic series.
A BEAUTIFUL START
Though "X-Men" starts slowly, the slow buildup and great payoff proved that this film is worthy of the successful franchise it spawned.
THE BEST "TRANSFORMERS" MOVIE
I'll just say it. I was glad to see an amazing "Transformers" movie in "Bumblebee." There were no dull moments whatsoever and it was cool to finally see Cybertron on the big screen.
