Another Classic SciFI Show Cancelled Before It's Time
Ghosted has everything for those who love sci-fi comedy horror. A winning combination of Adam Scott (Krampus) and Craig Robinson (End of the World) really raises the laughs as these dynamic dunderheads stumble through each mission. Craig Robinson's straight man to Scott's science nerd joker does wonders for my spirits, especially during the Covid pandemic. I've no idea why the show was cancelled; personally, I absolutely loved Ghosted and it's a shame. Why? because there are far too few comedy sci-fi/horror TV shows around and seeing the entertainment landscape littered with 'men in tights' superhero shows, medical dramas and reality tv fills me with despair for the future. In closing, I really do hope we see Robinson/Scott team up again in a sf/horror/comedy or drama series because they really do make a winning combination.
Actors are the show
Yes, I get it, direction, writing, shooting locations they all bring something to the formula that makes a great tv show. However, when adapting cult classics like utopia you have to ensure the actors are truly up to snuff, why? Because this show gets to the very heart of the matter that is the human experience, and so far, I'm just not sure the cast have that esoteric element required. From the very first moment, the actors in the British version were astounding the viewer with how serious this violently comedic drama was taking itself before metaphysically slamming you against the wall and slapping your astonished face around a bit. Look, it's early days and I do so hope the show entertains because the U.K. version was cruelly cut short after season two and there are plenty of fans out there who wanted to see where utopia was leading us to...
Brave New World (2020)
Ignore The Score, BNW 2020 Is Going To Become A Cult Classic
One of the best television television adaptations of a dystopian classic.
Why a good score? Well, brave new world has a first class cast and the writers have not only read the book but understood it, something so important when it comes to adapting novels to film and tv. Production values are excellent and set design stands out. Oh, oh and don't let me forget about the sound, the soundtrack is excellent and for once you can clearly hear characters lines in surround sound!
In closing, the viewer should be able to tell almost immediately that a lot of love and thought has gone into this production from all concerned and it shows.👍
