Mulholland Dr. (2001)
An underrated masterpiece
This movie got me doubting my own reality regarding my past deeds. Also what direction: the attention to details, references (like; Blvd sunshine, vertigo,... ), non linear story telling were all just outstanding. This movie has multiple interpretation,So much that even after watching it for the 3rd time I still feel like something's missing. Also the romance between Betty and Rita is so much intriguing & natural and anyone can feel it coming. It truly is a masterpiece, one of a king movie.
Idi i smotri (1985)
Accurate horrors of war.
This film doesn't have some great war visuals like; Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, Saving Private Ryan.... But those depiction of Belarus was so intriguing, This movie portrays the horrors and crisis of WW-II like never before. It will take you through a melancholic ride and with a surprise humor element. Although I watched the whole movie reading subtitles, but it was worth it. One of the most underrated and best, deserving war movies of 20-21st century.
The Wire (2002)
The best investigative show out there.
I just wish "The Wire" would have had continued even after it's 5th season. Such a great show; no fairy tail, very much mature, and honestly practical. This HBO series counts as #1 on my binge list. Every aspect of "The Wire" is perfect, take the acting, screenplay, direction, editing every single thing. It's a nearly perfect series for me.
The Mandalorian (2019)
Three things to love about "The Mandalorian"
1. Pedro Pascals' role as Mando
2. The BGM & of visuals
3. Cute and adorable little 'Yoda'
Special OPS (2020)
There doesn't always have to be a season 2 for every series.
Indian Web-series are recently blooming out in the OTT platforms. But one of the most disappointing fact is that many series try to not convey everything in a single series, For example; sacred games. But special ops didn't miffed the audiences with a non compulsive S-2. I loved watching the series, For me some highlighted peeks were; Kay Kay Menon's acting, locations story telling & direction. There are some amateur scenes but one can surely ignore it for the real fruit.
T-34 (2018)
What cinematography & visuals! just mind boggling.
I loved War movies inspired by true events, like; Saving Private Ryan, Lone Survivor, 12 Strong etc. But this one was something else. So unique & well crafted, that it got me gripped throughout the runtime. I don't know about the standards of dialogues(as it Russia-German movie), but watching those action sequences were surely a treat for the eyes. So detailed about showing every bullet release & impact. It might show Soviet as the stronghold, but I think they are worthy of their robustness, quality, skills, technology & bravery.
