I loved this movie it was brilliant and absolutely terrifying, don't wait till it's out on dvd or demand see it in a cinema !

My sister and I started to hide our eyes with our coats it was so scary!

All I have to say I don't see it alone!

I highly recommend watching it on the big screen as due to its soundtrack and visuals I can tell the director really took into account how an audience would react.

Also the main actress Sosie Bacon is a breathe of fresh air in this movie , her performance is immaculate an quite frankly on the level of award winning , I can see her with an Oscar one day!

In short it's a movie made for cinema and I can't wait to see what the director does next !

I don't know what's worse The acting the script or the music.

The film as a whole is just bad Instead of lady Gaga quoting "no sleep bus club another club another club plane next place" This film can be seen as quite similar Sex scene , bad music montage, characters creating drama for no reason or talking, another sex scene , bad music , massimo talking quietly or getting angry , sex scene , bad music, sex scene.

Yh it's worse than bad !

Yes ladies and gentlemen, it's awful but I managed to sit through this one significantly more easily than the last two films !

To be honest all the movies just romanticise kidnapping, gas lighting and other forms of emotional abuse.

The films might as well be a parody of other awful romance sex crazed films , I'd love to hear what mark kermode thinks of this !

The show four lives is unfortunately based on true preventable events which I knew before going into watching it , I am truly sorry for the families and victims than ever before.

The show is accurate and very well acted, especially regarding Sheridan Smiths performance which I have no doubt she'll win many awards for!

I hope the tv show brings more light to unjust crimes not just in the UK but everywhere !

Gaga and Leto are great and the fashion is fantastic I recommend seeing it and I don't know how u could review it badly , I might take my nan to see it !

I thought this movie was alright considering the fact that James wan is trying to rewrite the genre he is so present within.

The soundtrack , camera work and settings are so stylish and really bring a new perspective for horror audiences within the younger years as this kind of work is reminiscent to 80s slasher films which is something really enjoyed.

Another thing I liked is that James wan didn't use jumpscares, a trope within horror films that has been done to death and quite frankly bores me.

I feel like this film wasn't really meant to be a film though , I feel it was more a Kickstarter for a new style of horror films seeing as now a days they are too similar in plot, scares and soundtrack sometimes.

I thought the plot itself was quite creative but not very believable but then again it's a horror film it's not supposed to be so therefore I would say it was dis functional at points.

However I feel the actors in this movie were greatly invested in the process and put a lot of emotion behind their performances.

The only problem I truly had with his film is the plot and the fact they showed the villain a little too early on making the overly featured face a lot less scary.

The script could've been a little more creative but again I feel like most of this film was too focused on creating a new style of horror so that's probably why.

But overall this film is a 6/10 for its disfigured but wickedly Inventive plot and the stunning cinematography and soundtrack Cheers to you James wan!

The costumes the sets and themes throughout this movie are truly one to be beheld.

The script is almost Shakespearian in its themes especially in exploring the theme of pride and it's effect upon the two family's.

In short I love this film and I always will.

This. Movie. Was. So. Boring So the beginning of the film was rather promising, the legend of Mary shaw was a decent premise to base the plot around but ultimately I feel it failed in almost every way.

The build to the scares was agonisingly slow which lead to me becoming bored and the actual scares and by that I mean every scare being a jumpscare were incredibly tame and based on shock value which fell flat on its face.

The characters themselves hold little in the way of being actual characters, it just seems that Jamie ashwen was pretty bland as the protagonist right from the beginning to the end.

Honestly the dummy billy had more character than him.

Another thing I hated and got bored of pretty quickly was the overused slowing of sound, I understand it was a trope to Mary shaw being a goully ghosty but it was used way to much to the extent where I was like is something wrong with my TVs sound.

Anyway the one thing I will give this film is the incredible sets which are tremendously creepy, honestly if I was in that position- uh uh gone.

Overall I think the film is just about decent enough to entertain- entertain 11 year olds that is, but it's pretty boring and tame in its scares and the only thing it left me wanting was a Chinese taken away mentioned at the beginning.

Cheers and remember this is just my opinion if u like the film good for u I think it was a waste of my evening but if u want give it a watch I can see it being a good film for a Halloween sleepover for kids.

Ew, ew, ew How is this getting a second season, I waste my money on stuff but this show is a whole other level.

The acting is purely embarrassing and really gives the tik tokers in it a bad look regardless them accepting the job or not they cannot act and I feel like the producers purposely hired them to make the show popular.

The script is purely what annoys me the most though perhaps it might have been better with a more driven storyline and script, but I doubt it.

It was pretty eerie , the main actress was great in her role and I was really invested in her fight with the elements amongst her.

But ultimately the somewhat cringey script and disappointing ending were a let down.

I so wanted to see her final fight with the killer but I guess we can't have everything.

Overall I thought the movie was ok, the acting was very good and I can see Ivanna Sakhno becoming a big star, she has a lot of potential!

The one good thing about this movie are the credits.

Seriously the credits sequence was cool.

The book is very well written and this film is a very poor adaptation.

There are seriously important plot points that they skip out on all together and I was incredibly disappointed with the emphasis upon her condition (agoraphobia) being very little.

Some visuals throughout which r due to her condition will make little to no sense as her condition isn't very well explained.

Plus I think the sevens when she is on drugs and drinking were overly emphasised in an attempt to build tension that didn't really work.

This film will be good if you haven't read the book and underwhelming if you have.

Overall I think the adapted parts they have done are well done the acting is great( especially Amy Adams wyatt Russel and Fred Hechinger)but I'm very disappointed in the way this movie was handled.

The director had a chance to bring attention to a rare condition and to make a great movie and sort of blew it by not completely following the book or detailing certain points.

In other words it's a clusterfuk.

The acting was pretty impressive for a low budget horror movie, Alix Angelis I thought was especially impressive as she seemed so well grounded into her possession part.

Overall I think the movie is decent and better than many of the cheesy flimsy possession movies these days , I found it kind of predictable at some parts but the ending was a smash hit !

Didn't expect that !

Give it a watch if u have shudder as the actors are very promising and I look forward to what the director does next!

Not much going on with the script, felt like a TV movie plot line at times but the performances were pretty solid!

I think Isabelle Huppert was the shining star leading this movie, her character is morbid, so creepy. I do feel like there were many plot holes though that just didn't float my boat and a lot of unnecessary dialogue and scenes eg the final scene where the girls are talking informs of the box about what they are going to do when it was fairly obvious to the audience.

The plot was kinda predictable but not completely.

Overall the movie is fine it's not a great thriller stalker movie but it's certainly not the worst.

I feel like it worth watching just for Isabelle Hupperta performance (that scene where she's dancing in her stockings is really weird and about the only scene creeps me out,)

It was utterly awful and so emotive, what an incredible movie well worth watching .... But only once.

(I read the book beforehand) The soundtrack, acting and cinematography make this film both incredibly creepy and stunning. It's one of the better films I've seen in a while although I don't find it to be that scary for a horror movie it was rather eerie, the lingering shots on the water tank, bag and leak on the ceiling (the water droplets clinging on almost looked like eyes I thought) . But nothing prepared me for the lift scene which left me, my sister and my mum devastated. I did feel like some shots lingered for too long but I really like a lot of the one takes which are mainly in the apartment.

I did find the little red bag to be very well applied to the film as it is in the book, and although I believe the imagery of the child in the raincoat to be overused in horror tropes these days I did find it to be the scarier thing throughout the movie. This is because the coats purpose is to protect the child from water which inevitably does end up killing her, the raincoat is also related back to childhood so to me represents the innocence within her death. She was left alone for probably less than an hour and..... I cant even. However once she becomes possessive Over the main character in the movie believing her to be her mother, the raincoat is presented to be something that keeps ahold of the main character. Lingering in the background of shots. And overpowering sense of innocence yet eerily it isn't because the ghost of the girl is infact possessive and evil, it won't let her go and is constantly following her, the colour overpowers her despite being worn by a mere child.

The film is overall artistic and an unique and a well applied take on a popular book. It is very hard to get just as good a fold on a story as in a film ( which the American remake didn't completely get) but I think this can be compared to the book almost on the same level. It's a brilliant character driven film and I loved it , the child actress was astoundingly convincing and at one point outshines the adult actress. Go and watch this movie if you enjoy a more character based film rather than a plot driven film. It is slow at Times but worth a watch.

I'll admit it did copy Rec with the night vision at the end but apart from that it was utterly horrific. So creepy ! How Emily in Paris gets nominated for golden globes but this doesn't I'll never understand.

The films premise is a classic and something I was really looking forward to, but the film ultimately falls flat on it dumb face. The script is down right awful and the supposed villain "Alice" looks like and extra from Goosebumps. Seriously. You can tell Amber Heard is really trying her best despite the source material, her acting is decent enough to convince you this movie isn't completely awful. Laura Leigh whom plays Zoey wasn't a bad actress by any means but she was just downright annoying and wasn't all that great in her performance. But then again this film is awful. I'll give it to the cinematography and the set workers , they really took the Biscuit by making the film look appealing enough. The beginning and end of the film were alright as well but the middle and third act were so nothing. I really liked the shots where Amber Heard is being followed by the camera at the beginning and the end, it not only adds a lot of tension but Amps up her performance as well as mirroring her past and present, it's the one thing that works in this film. I enjoyed the little twist ending that was rather clever but it's something I've seen many times before in films. This film was made as a cash grab, with a decent premise and perfectly able bodied director I don't really know what went wrong it was just bland and disposable. I would give it 3 stars if it wasn't for Amber Heards performance ( and I'm not even that big of a fan of her). Overall the director as well as the actors talent is being completely wasted here, don't bother watching this movie. If you want to watch a decent asylum flick here... 1) Unsane 2) Shutter island 3) A cure for wellness 4) Stonehearst Asylum 5) Gothika

Again don't bother watching this film, it's cliche, appallingly scripted and overall just a waste of your oh so precious time, you only live once and you can certainly live without watching this movie. In other words it's utter garbage. Thank you, again don't watch this.

Ok so the fact it ended on a cliffhanger I was annoyed because I was actually kind of enjoying it so..... But yeah the films ok overall it's not the best but I thought milla and tony were so badass ! The graphics were great and the plot was fun but I hated the continuous glitching moments and sound cut outs , they were really annoying! But still milla is my heart and such a hero that I think her and Toby really made this film fairly enjoyable. I thought the beginning was really entertaining but the rest of the movie wasn't as good but still it's ok it's fun. Not sure a sequel is really worthy but I'd watch it!

So it's not the best of the rec films , but the setting and storyline really make this movie. There's a lot going on and you'll definitely have had to watch the previous films to understand it, but hey this film if you watch it on a whim is pretty fun The setting of the boat is claustrophobic but not quite as good of a setting as the original but it's very interesting as to what can happen. The acting was pretty darn good and so was the cinematography. The zombie makeup was better than the previous films I thought and I enjoyed seeing Angela return to be the zombie slayer that's he is!

It's was ok , the storyline was meh but the acting was very good. It didn't live up to the hype for me but I can see why people like it.

So it's not exactly the best horror film but it's very well acted and grounded well to one setting. It wasn't scary but very creepy I would say, the ending was pretty damn disturbing. It's worth a watch if you like found footage style films !

This movie was so much fun and I really enjoyed it , I think it's what gave the inspiration to Jennifer's body in a way it has that same kind of vibe ! Definitely recommend to watch to audiences who want to watch a horror movie but not an ultimately scary one. Costumes were great to, loved gingers vibe !

How does this movie have positive reviews on rotten tomatoes, how? Why? This film tries to be like evil dead and rosemary's baby or something a standard it misses by leagues! The acting is alright considering the films script is a shizzer fest , cm punk considering this is his acting debut in a feature film(kinda feel sorry for him that this is his first film) did quite well I thought as I genuinely hated his character he was such an a hole. But I overall hated this movie, it's not bad but it extremely close to that level and I'm only giving it a 4 instead of a 3 because of the acting and somewhat creative visuals. It's sucky suck fest and I hope it never gets positive attention again.
