Poirot (1989)

One of the best whodunnit tv series.

The show focuses more on the psychological part of murder rather than the forensic. David Suchet plays Poirot perfectly and gets the accent and mannerisms just right. The plots come from the best mystery writer all time, apart from maybe Conan Doyle so all one has to do is follow the plots closely and you get a good series. The series does follow the books reasonably closely apart from a few episodes which usually have good reason to change things. The directing and cinematography are decent and the lighting is very well done especially in the later episodes. The tone gets progressively darker as the series goes on and the colour pallet gets greyer. Overall an excellent series.
