Wonderfalls (2004)

Another great show lost to TPTB!
9 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Wonderfalls is probably one of the best shows to have come out of the US in the last decade, and of course doesn't it fit that while Dawson's Creek ran on for ages and ages, this show would get the axe within half a season? Anyone who appreciates good humour, smart story lines, and possibly the crispiest, most dedicating acting ever, must give this show (which is now out on DVD!) a try. You will not be disappointed.

For me personally, the reason this show stands out is because the actors, though hardly big names (except William Sadler for you Roswell fans), do not disappoint a single time. Tracie Thoms, in her pre-Rent days, is absolutely brilliant as Jaye's best friend Mahandra, and the development of her storyline with a certain brother was perhaps my favourite bit of the whole show.

For some people, the concept of the show is hard to buy, and perhaps even silly. But there is something very grounding about the wax animals talking to Jaye, something very normal about it all. You'll only get it when you watch it!

Sheep in the Big City (2000–2023)

One of the best cartoons ever.
23 June 2006
This is definitely the best cartoon series that I have ever seen. Side-splitting till the end credits, it shocks and amazes with its simplicity yet its satiric wit. Every character is hilarious and lovable, but I have to say that my favorite character is definitely the Angry Scientist, with his broken English and hunched shoulders and over-the-top devices to help General Specific catch Sheep.

Lovely lovely show. I wish Cartoon Network brought it back. Or at least put it on DVD. I would be the first one to buy it, no matter what the price.

Mo Willems, if by some blind luck you're reading this, please consider selling the episodes of the show on DVD, even if it's only through your website. I love this show so much and would give an arm and a leg to have the episodes.

Madagascar (2005)

Most amazing animation movie ever.
16 March 2006
This has quickly and surely become my favorite animation movie ever. I love how rich and detailed all the characters are, and the storyline is gripping and side-splitting. The best comedic moments come when you least expect them.

Though the main focus in the movie is of the characters from the Central Park Zoo, for me, the limelight is really stolen by Julian, the king of the lemurs. He is just one of the most amazing animated characters I have ever seen and it is my hope that the sequel to the movie will focus a bit more on him than it did in this movie. Julian has a lot of contribution in the story. And after all, who can forget the "I Like to Move It" song that has literally become the theme-song of the movie and is just the most entertaining thing ever!
