- A journey in a heated and paranoid America with a man in search of a lost love, a woman lost in desire for revenge and a twenty-year-old diary about the yearning to waste oneself in destruction.
- Three performers, a hotel room, one big bed - plus a camera and a selected audience. And the question if it is possible to perform real and authentic sex. This is the basis for the video REHEARSALS.
- Angel Express is a film about people restlessly seeking for the ultimate experience. Set in late nineties Berlin, it shows images of radical change: Young urban heroes in the glare of flashlights; an environment in which coldness and affection or lust for power and friendship go hand in hand. Types like the hooker Liv, or the top photographer Iris von Than with her cool and calculating manner and a tendency to go too far, zig-zag like pinballs through the neon jungle on an aimless search for their identity and social contact. There is the striking character of N.K. apparently a respectable businessman of slick and unscrupulous means and a gunrunner on the side who finally unveils himself as a corrupt policeman. And the hauntingly eccentric and insecure Patrick, Iris von Than's young business associate who constantly is in pursuit of something and whose motto is to survive by luxury. The protagonists, united by their common mood, feelings and attitude to life, are sucked into a deadly whirlpool of events.
- A young Berlin couple travel to a friend's place for the celebration of Silvester and New Year's Eve. During that period, we witness today's juvenile sub-culture, especially the ways of keeping a partnership - or breaking it up in between.
- The aura of girls doesn't need the sun to glow. That is the essence of RP Kahl's documentary "Sunday Girls", which follows four young actresses - Laura Tonke, Nicolette Krebitz, Katharina Schuettler and Inga Birkenfeld - through different seasons and landscapes. Between naiveté and experience, wishes and wants the four women tell about their jobs with great honesty. They talk about theatre, about the myths of cinema and the magic of making the first film. They show how one needs to become stubborn and uncompromising to avoid getting lost in the demands of contemporary media. These four portraits never get too close and leave the women enough freedom to experiment in front of the camera. The struggle between acting and authenticity is always visible and makes this documentary so utterly fascinating to watch.
- Seven women, aged 18 to 28, nude portraits as moving stills in classical painting tradition.
- Filmmaker RP Kahl embarks on an expedition together with actress Laura Tonke, his protagonist from 'Sunday Girls'. Scene of their research is the brown coal mining area of Lusatia, South-East of Berlin. Kahl's grandmother Elsbeth Maschke has lived there for nearly a century from 1905 to 1999. She experienced the diverging history of that place up close. Her memories from World War 2, that returned most violent to the Eastern German border in 1945, blend with her accounts of the time when her childhood home was dismantled in favour of an open brown coal pit and her home land was erased.
- The untold story of 9/11 is the story of the plane crashing into a field in rural Pennsylvania. Lost in the events of the day this plane crash received scant mention in the media. RP Kahl reduces the coverage of this event to its bare essentials and has the people behind the news come to the center of attention.
- Night. Outside. Streets. A woman. She is naked. Then she is in a hotel, later in the hotel room. What is she looking for? - There is a man. Is he a foreigner, an artist or is he only in her mind? Or is it only his idea? An erotic moment. A play, inspired by a short novel by Alain Joubert. A surrealistic moment between model/ actress and artist/ director.
- Mysterious young women dance themselves to death on their wedding night, and from then on rise every midnight infatuating men with their bewitched dancing to draw them to the other world. White Wedding carries the love-story of Jeane and Alex into a modern day city. Jeane is dancing herself to death in a club and Alex falls in love with her at that very moment. Later, Jeane appears to Alex and tempts him to follow her into the realm of the dead.
- As part of RP Kahl's opening show of Giddyheft-Shootings at the Museum of Porn in Art in Zurich on march 16, 2012 a performance with Mara Morgen took place, which was overwritten as live shoot. The performers converted a Giddyheft-style photo shoot between Kahl and Morgen, which was projected into the audience room via live streaming and webcam, into a debate on the relation of art, prostitution and intermediality.
