- Aging movie star Alexandra del Lago, also known as Princess Kosmonopolis (Dame Elizabeth Taylor), fears her career is over due to her fading youthful looks. She takes up with a handsome young man, Chance Wayne (Mark Harmon), who once had promise as an actor, but who has fallen into the life of a gigolo. Together, they travel to Chance's home town, where he hopes to regain the love of his one-time girlfriend Heavenly Finley (Cheryl Paris). But Chance's departure years before has destroyed Heavenly's possibilities of a happy life, and her father, "Boss" Tom Finley (Rip Torn), wants revenge on Chance. Chance hopes to take Heavenly with him to start the movie career he believes the Princess offers him, but she is so fragile in her dread of lost youth that no one's dreams seem likely to come true.
- Don Rickles serves as roastmaster for Dean Martin's own roast. Also featured are Foster Brooks, Ruth Buzzi, Bob Hope and many other comedy legends.
- Former beach bunny/girl surfer Francine "Gidget" Lawrence is an adult and married to her long-term beau Jeff "Moondoggie" Griffin. She deals with a variety of marital spats, as well as running her own travel agency, running interferences with her teenage niece, and trying to arrange a reunion of her husband's old surfing friends. Meanwhile, Jeff works as an architect and must fend off romantic advances from his beautiful and lascivious boss. Gidget's niece wants to learn how to surf and gets too much when she sneaks out to see a suave, self-serving beach bum behind the back of her nerdy boyfriend.
- Originally broadcast in May of 1977, this series of interviews between Sir David Frost and U.S. President Richard Nixon, delves into the various controversies of Nixon's presidency, including (most famously) the Watergate scandal. Never before, nor since, has a U.S. President been so candid on camera. This historic meeting has been adapted into an award-winning major motion picture by Ron Howard.

- An ecstatic Burt returns home ready to celebrate after six months of celibacy, but a distraught Mary is unable to reciprocate; devastated at losing Dennis to a woman, Jodie swallows 45 pills in a desperate suicide attempt, tearfully slipping away as Barney Gerber displays his joy for life.
- Barney Gerber reassures Burt and Mary that Jodie is doing fine, while Jessica confesses her affair with Peter to her husband Chester, who only feels amusement at her unfaithfulness.
