- Sunil, son of D.I.G. Shyamlal Mehra, is back in India after successful completion of his medical studies. He gets an offer to work with his fiancée Dr. Neeta Verma, in a private hospital but he joins a municipality hospital, instead. According to him medicinal practice is a sacred profession which should not be treated as business. A short visit to a small village inspires Sunil to come and stay at that village and serve poor villagers, who do not have a single doctor in nearby dozens of villages. He comes to the village and sets up a hospital with limited facilities. He encounters village belle Phoolwa and his father Dayal. Phoolwa cooks food for Sunil and also helps him in routine hospital activities. Sunil and Phoolwa fall in love and decides to marry but Dayal opposes this alliance because Phoolwa is not his real daughter but his younger brother dacoit Lakhan's, who wants to kill Sunil since he is son of a police officer who wants to arrest him. Police force raids Lakhan's vicinity to arrest him but he only gets injured and escapes. Dayal and Phoolwa finds and brings him to surrender to the police and get him treated by doctor Sunil. But Lakhan dies. D.I.G. accepts Phoolwa as his daughter in law.
- Shanker and Rita's marriage is finalized by their elders in their childhoods, however, after growing up, Shanker loves Shobna. Shanker is told to marry Rita instead, and he does so. The marriage is rocky as Rita does not pay attention to her husband and son. Then Shobna re-enters their life. - Chanda lives a wealthy lifestyle in Jaipur along with her father, Thakur Dharam Singh, and mom. Since she is of marriageable age, her dad wants her to get married to a wealthy male of his choice, but she dislikes him. Arguments ensue at home and her dad slaps her, she falls down and passes out. When she regains her senses she finds herself in a hospital in Bombay with her dad at her bedside, who tells her that she was unconscious for 3 days, apologizes and promises never to pressurize her to get married. She forgives him and they return home. A few days later she gets a visitor, a male Akashwani singer by the name of Raj Kumar, who claims to be her husband, calls her by the name of Rekha, and wants her to accompany him back to Bombay where he lives in a Chawl along with a two-bit Bollywood actor, Bansi. The question remains who is this male, and why is he claiming to be Chanda's husband?
- Recently widowed Thakur Vikram Singh left India the same time the British did along with his son, Anand, for England. Years later, Anand has grown up to be a doctor and travels to Bombay, India, to work together with Dr. Pradhan for six months, thereafter he must return home and get married to Lalita, who is the daughter of Thakur's Legal Advisor, Jackson. Six months go by and Anand does not return, the Thakur, along with Jackson and Lalita, also travel to India to bring him back. This is where they find out that Anand has been romancing Rajkumari Sanyogta and both are expected to get married soon. The Thakur is pleased with Anand's choice and gives his blessings to the young couple. Watch what happens when the Thakur finds out that Rajkumari is in fact a flower-selling belle from his hometown of Balrampur, and Anand may not be his son after all.
